Dragon Age The Veilguard Criticism Thread (formerly Skepticism Thread) [Spoilers]

Never that many, but they were memorable and oddly prominent in the lead up to DAI’s release. I still remember the long threads complaining that Cassandra had a man’s jaw supposedly.

So managed to find the will to continue playing thanks to custom difficulty (everything on nightmare, but enemy health pools on low feels tolerable). Got to the scene with the stock Inquisitor (somehow missed the custom Inqy in character creation). She gives me a wolf statue and I go back to the Lighthouse and can now access Solas' regret wall murals. Not sure if I reused the same statue or had stocked up more from side content earlier, but what follows is the motherlode of all DA deep lore spat out in a succession of five or six scenes of a mural followed by the gang's reaction. The last one even explains that Inquisition ending. Brisk and to the point, but I guess bases are just about covered. Essentially disproved but can choose to be nice or a bit fedora about it. Ok. Fine. All choices are seemingly various degrees of censoring this info because the unwashed masses of Thedas won't be able to handle it. Great. These revelations are fabric of reality level stuff and each one is not much longer than the previous cut scene I had with Davrin about how much Assan likes treats. All those years, all those nights drifting off to sleep with hour long youtube videos frantically speculating about this stuff and it's just like, yep, there it is... Now back to some equally long scenes of Assan and Manfred squawking at each other. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

In any case W2 was so long ago I don't recall but I believe it. W2 to W3 was what DOS2 was to BG3 probably in terms of massive leaps ahead in overall quality.

Witcher 1 sex scenes are the best and most realistic. Everyone knows that sex is collecting naked women cards

Anyway back to fighting my way through this mess of a game... I hope I'm almost done with act 2 which would mean almost done with the entire game since BioWare decided 50/45/5 sounds like good pacing of the narrative... Can't wait to find out how I like the endgame.

Act 2 is so long.
Kind of a slight spoiler for act 3

 I didn't want them to have a bad end but I definitely wished I was done with "Act 2" about halfway through what people are calling Act 2

Okay then I vote for Two Acts and an End Game Sequence You literally can't go anywhere but where you are doing that sequence, it's just not an Act III. Imagine if Act II of DA2 went straight from the fight with the Arishok directly to the end game sequence with Meredith trying to Annul the Circle after Anders blew up a Chantry, like... nobody would call that Act III
