UPDATE TO OP AT END BELOW Since Dragon Age 4 was teased at The Game Awards in 2018, many people have been concerned about the prospect of this game.  But we don't really have a thread where you can just come and share your general worries about Dragon Age 4, so here it is. If they are going to feature Dorian heavily, I can hardly imagine them creating another one (that's featured as heavily). I can already see the '' we didn't have a checklist this time around, and it just so happened that none of the romancable characters ended up gay. Like, we didn't plan on that to happen, we just let the characters speak for themselves and none of them felt appropriate as a gay. So there's no real malice behind it, we just tried to stay true to ourselves and our creation. Besides, the Dragon Age universe has a lot of gay men! Dorian, for instance, while not being romancable, is a very big figure and loved figure in the Dragon Age universe, and the game features him a lot, since he is so important to the world we are creating in DA4! '' speech But one hurdle at a time, I'm more skeptical of what kind of game (single player or not) this'll end up being first and foremost. But romances and companions do come second, I hope they are a bit more interesting than in DA:I. I mean, I love DA:I, but the companions lack a little edge, some spice, idk.

I just hope they don't focus on big empty maps this time. The whole thing about new fauna, architecture, etc, and it being fun to explore has me worried. I'm exhausted of open world games at this point, at least ones with no soul. I hope they focus a lot more on good side quests and interesting characters.

I'm obviously concerned about how they will handle the Solas/Inquisitor situation, and not just in a romance capacity, though that is part of it. There are very obvious plot threads that need tying up.
As for romances, I highly doubt I'll be risking one of those again, if they intend to leave them like they seem to be with Solavellan.
I genuinely hope I'm wrong about all of this. I look forward to more information.

I'm very worried about the combat. That it will be the same as Inquisition and, for me, boring as hell. That there will be no tactics and only 8 feats/skills selectable on the bar.
I'm worried about the game being full of "heists" missions, like someone is saying, to be carried out while I still have nightmares about Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. I'd rather not skip the Fade three times in a row than go through something like WEaWH again.
I'm worried about Frostbite not being tamed yet and the game coming out full of bugs and glitches and more in general being a massive fest of non-reproducible, PC crashing problems.
I'm worried about co-op and/or multiplayer and its implementation. But most of all about single-player being impacted by it.
I'm worried my decisions won't matter.
I'm extremely worried that if my Inquisitor does appear in the end she won't be able to side with Solas.
This just off the top of my head.

I’d say there are quite a few people that likes him, and even Between those that don’t like him, there are those that want to kill him. I’d say there are a lot of people that want to deal with him. I’m certainly interested in seeing him if it means exploring more of the ancient past of Thedas. Either way, from the original teaser to the dev diary, he appears to have a prominent role in the next game.

Which is why the next DA will probably be called "Dread Wolf Rises", or something along that line. It seems to have been their working title at some point. I don't care about Solas. I care so much about Solas that, if he could be swapped out for Rose Tico, I would feel relieved. Not Kelly Marie Tran, who is an absolute sweetheart that I very much so adore, but the poor excuse for a character that Rian Johnson came up with, potato sack and all. |

Why do you say that we won’t defeat him in this game? I do think there are more chances of him being the main antagonist of the game and that we’ll deal with him, then the chances of him being unrelated to the main plot of the game and someone that would be central in the next series of DA games.

I have high hopes for this game but I do not like the reveal of one of the main antagonist from day one (as in years ago), that being Solas. It's like we knew that Corypheus was the main bad guy well before DAI. I prefer the bad guys to be a mystery until i start playing the game.

I don’t think I’ve discussed that with you, or in any case, agreed with that stance. Given the focus on him in the original teaser and in this footage, and the Dread Wolf hashtag, I’d say otherwise. Unless you have some sort of connection inside BioWare or EA, in which case, please give us an hint whether the game still has a SP more or is now fully coop.

There’s no actual proof that Andruil and/or the other Evanuris will even be present in the game, let alone with a major antagonistic role. For that to happen, I’d say that Solas would’ve to destroy the Veil either pre-game or right at the start, which I find it unlikely. Although, even if Andruil or someone else would end up as the main antagonist in the game, I don’t think Solas would survive and become a major character or antagonist for the next series of games. Either way, he’ll be dealt with. I’m not going to base any certainty of Solas’ role in the game, though, on an article like that. Not because it’s not attendible, but because it’s just speculation, as any of us could do here.
