Honestly the best sci-fi game I have played lately was the Invincible and that's more of a "walking simulator". The Invincible was awesome indeed! Tempted to read the novel now. I did it the other way round. Been waiting decades for a game to pick up Stanislaw Lem. Read it - it's worth it. And the game is not a 1-1 copy of the book - it is a reminiscence to the author in the setting Lem created. While being a unique story of the devs still. There was a German novel copy-catting the topic and being lauded for its untalented plagiarism, but Lem is the master of pitting humanity against the unknown, the true ununderstood alien.

Weird. A bit shitty for content creator on Youtube, that's how they make their dough. Why coddle them with a *curated* preview to spread buzz, then turn around and leave them behind for release.
It smells a bit bad, I thought they were confident in their last act? Guess they aren't that confident.

It's not really surprising but it's food for thought for anyone hesitant to purchase at launch. He's right about one thing and I'm paraphrasing: if the game is good, win over the critical crowd and that goes further to selling the product than all the IGN-type reviewers giving the standard 8/9 scores that no one really puts much stock in anymore. I have a number of game reviewers I trust to varying degrees that may sway me one way or another. I think even a lot of the casuals nowadays go to content creators if they're on the fence.

Luke Stephens was overall positive in his preview, so i don't think he didn't recieve a code because Bioware/EA is afraid, that he will trash the game.

But he might have been more cold toward the full game. The fans councel all have codes (spoiler alert avert your eyes, their reviews : it's great, 10/10) and they all have a small pool of followers. Die hard fans that are going to buy no matter what. If you want the BG3 crow you have Wolfheart (no code) This Luke guy play all sort of games so new potential customer if good reviews. So what the hell? I know Mortisal gaming got a code, usually I guess he's fair but he often doesn't release his reviews right away. So a safe bet.

It smells a bit bad, I thought they were confident in their last act? Guess they aren't that confident. They did, apparently, still sent hundreds of review codes. Luke's preview was also very positive, so I'm not sure why they'd not send him one. Dantics received a review code and has expressed skepticism on the game during the marketing phase. I know that publishers treat youtubers and gaming sites/magazines differently, but they still sent a review code to one of the biggest italian gaming sites, that gave a overall negative/skeptical preview of the game, and even if they'd change the person reviewing the game, the other two in the site that I think would most likely play and review the game were also very skeptical of it. But yeah, I'd have still sent some of the most skeptical previews reviews codes, personally, although it's also fair to point out that there are many that tested the game in the LA event that had really positive previews that didn't get codes. I'm going to link, in any case, the italian review when it's out on Monday, given that it'd come out of one of the most skeptical gaming sites/magazines on the game.

That's what makes it all the odder to me...if you have a reviewer who is mostly positive and you block them from reviewing it just ends up looking bad. There is nothing he could or would say that would come close to doing the damage that Busche and that IGN person did to the game with that absurd-looking Qunari.

There's a few people that were gushing about the game that were at the preview event but didn't get a code.

I watched some podcast/preview, man. I kinda liked it. One lady was freaking foaming at the mouth. I think hers was one of the most negative previews, much more negative then the Italian gaming site I mentioned. The only think that irked me about her preview is the mention about the writing team being overhauled/changed. While she did clarified in the video that she didn't specifically mean that the writers aren't good at their jobs and that the issue might be in the direction, she and other italian streamers and sites mention the firing and the changes in Bioware, but the writing team that worked on Veilguard are all Bioware and DA veterans, with the only real big 'loss' compared to previous games being Gaider, who left the company a long time ago. I don't however thing they say this out of malice, but simply by not doing enough research on the writers that worked on the game and the fact that Lukas Kristjanson and Mary Kirby worked on the game and their writing is still in the game, even if they have been fired last year.

If Bioware had no confidence in the final act, i don't think they'd give out review codes so early or that Michael Gamble would urge reviewers to get to the Act III. So unless you imply that Luke Stephens and Wolfheart are unbiased and fair and those who received the codes will give the game 10/10 no matter what, i'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
