Most characters (and every student) will be aged 11-18.
Showing nudity under 18 is a fucking crime in what I think is the VAST MAJORITY of the western world.

Pre-ordering this game. This looks AMAZING Wait. What? River, slow down. It does look like it will be a good game! I am also looking forward to it Unless I'm missing an in-joke, don't pre-order. Just on principal. Buy it on day one, as you know they won't sell out. I feel like I missed something. Maybe should have read the whole thread. Time for bed. I'm with River, I'm pre-ordering as well.

I'm not familiar, what kind of issues?
JK Rowling's anti-trans stance. Was recently re-introduced by Emma Watson rebuffing JK at the BAFTAs. It's a serious issue but it's not really mainstream, as in it's regularly brought up but if you go to most people on the street they won't know much about it. This isn't meant as a dig but you didn't know much about it either, right? That's my experience with it, the issue is out there but at the same time ... not out there? It's really a problem on Twitter and Tumblr.

*pre orders DA4* Honestly find the anti pre order stance a bit overblown. Sure I can probably count on one hand the games I have but if you know you are going to like it and play it, why not? Also the whole clothing thing is kinda ridiculous but can work.

Which is funny considering Hogwarts was built in what...the 1400s? Earlier? Later? Granted Victorian clothing is a lot closer then our own stuff and I do wonder how much we actually know about that kind of clothing habits but even Victorian stuff is a bit out of time.

A little disappointed that the other Common Rooms aren't given the same attention to detail (incl. lighting) as Gryffindor's, but... WIP. Agreed on the common rooms, I hope the house favoritism doesn’t keep extending to other aspects of the experience. Give Hufflepuff House a chance. Nah, when watching the behind the scenes video, many many many of the devs are Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs and Slytherins who are very proud about that (they all had house icons by their names lol) and noticing how passionate they are about the lore and game, I'm absolutely positive people of their own houses designed their common rooms to be exactly how it should be. Slytherin Common Room looks as shadowy and damp as it did in the movies, and from what I've seen, all the Hufflepuffs have adored the common room they're getting from the state of play. Biggest concern really has to be the lack of any dialogue systems we have seen and lenghth of the game given the aforementioned how big is it. We'll obviously just have to see but it definitley has gone up from a very much 'well could be good and its in one of my favorite settings so I will give it a chance' to something that is definitley piquing my interest. Even my wife was giving her seal of approval and she's not really an HP fan. Yes, this is probably the one thing from the state of play that left me wondering other than general courting/relationships. However, there is mention towards the end of the video that we must be careful about the path we take, or risk becoming a dark wizard/witch. So I'm guessing there is maybe a moral compass of some sort. I imagine there would need to be some variation of dialogue choices to choose between in order to help this moral compass along?

Agreed but I always thought the student attire and most of the clothing worn by wizards outside of Hogwarts were Victorian Era or inspired by it. I think it’s appropriate because the Victorian Era had a revival of occultism and mysticism which is perfect for magic based tales and stories. Plus, several occult games that I enjoy have Victorian-esque fashion like Dishonored and Bloodborne.

I'd hesitate to read too much into that before we see more on the game. Yes it is very dramatic line and a very dramatic set up 'or else you go down the dark path...someone casts Avada Kedavra' but that could be about the extent of it. Not a lie per se but it could be more of an issue of you just being able to use those spells is the extent of your 'darkness'. Which the Unforgiveable Curses...well at least the Killing curse...always struck me as inconsistent and this game shows that to. Here you are able to knock swords into creatures and summon lightning storms...and the Killing Curse is the bad one.

Preorders, under age nudity and Victorian clothing…this page has been quite the emotional roller coaster.
The first and last game I ever preordered was DA2. All I got was a whiny little bitch and a somewhat useful dog. Minimum 1st post release day patch purchases in the time since and for the foreseeable future (PoE 1 being the exception).
Nudity- some of the ghosts appear to have issues with boundaries, so maybe.
Victorian clothing - I have no strong opinions, but suspect that there will be quite the range available.

In regards to committing harm as a good wizard, I think the logic is that magical creatures can survive far more than non-magical creatures because of potions, spells, charms, bloodline, what have you.
Plus offensive spells are more for incapacitation than killing though they can lead to death if abused, like a taser for example in the real world.
But the killing spell is different because you are going out of your way to purposefully end someone’s life.

Fair point, though if I noticed correctly the human enemies weren't ever shown to die but appear more knocked out as opposed to the skeletons, suits of armor and other creature enemies which were nearly obliterated by some of these spells. I take it the human enemies can quickly recover from their injuries with potions or other spells afterwards. Of course, this is just speculation in the name of consistency. But I take it the devs have pondered this too.

I can understand it if it's a game you'er not really suer about. It's one of the main reasons why I've already preordreed Forspoken as I believ ethat's a game I'm going to like regardless when i tcomes in October. I ha dhoped i twould make a grea tbirthda yperswen tbut not to be. I haven' tplaced any orders fo rany o fthe other stuff I'm afte rye tbut likely will later in the year after I've got my birthday and game I want for that out of the way.
