Hogwarts Legacy (Harry Potter universe game)

I don't like simulators, but a Wizard Simulator? And in fact going to all those classes? I'm sold. I don't even need the action.

Not sure why we had to go back to the 1800s but whatever. Hope this game is basically Persona: Hogwarts.

I don't mind the time period at all, and true it makes things less complicated for possible sequels.

It also makes me wonder if the Dumbledores will feature in this. If it's late enough in the 1800's, Albus could be a student there.

Gosh I'm so excited for this one. Depending on production value this could have tremendous replayability.

Perhaps potential friendships or romances are based off your house. (I.e. a slytherin wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with a hufflepuff, but may speak with a ravenclaw)

Character trees can involve potions, divination, animal handling, defense against the dark arts, transfiguration, botany

Maybe there will be extracurriculars you can do like quidditch.

I'm also kind of hoping for a calendar system and party system

I mean, I’d love Persona 5: Hogwarts, but I expect school life will take a backseat to plot.

I think the problem isn’t the fact that she might or may have not partecipating the in the development (from a subreddit on the game, someone posted a FAQ from discord that mentioned that she has no involvement in the writing), but the fact that she still gets royalties from the game, and if you don’t support her, by buying the game you basically supports her.

You are absolutely right, on the fact that, on the opposite sides, the devs have nothing to do with her, and they might not even support her views. If Sheier’s tweets and article on the matter is to be believed, they weren’t certainly happy about this situation, which is even worse because the game is just being announced. From now to release, every time she’d speak publicly or tweet, it could affect the devs and the game. How much, I don’t honestly know. But obviously, there’s no way to support the devs without supporting her. You can definitely not give her more money by buying the game used, but in that case you still won’t support the devs. 

I don’t have any problem with people boycotting the game, both in general (we had plenty of people in the legacy forum stating they’d buy Bioware games used to not give them or EA money), and in this specific situation, but everyone that does that should keep in mind that they are affecting people that might lose their jobs if the game fails. This isn’t necessarily a reason enough to buy the game, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind, and don’t think that you’re just boycotting the author.

On the trailer and informations, it seems to have confirmed a lost of leaks in the past, not only the ones directly after the leaked trailer but some that were posted later, which mentioned the 5th student that was ‘discovered’ as a mage later then usual.

Other then likely limiting the aumont of background, I don’t much like the fact that we’re a late-entry student, expecially because I don’t see how it’d work in the plot, since by the informations out in the site it seems we’d quickly become quite powerful. I know that the PC is going to have a special power (another think I don’t personally love), but that doesn’t mean he/she would
become that powerful in the manner of months.

I do understand why they did this, however, as having the PC as a first year would’ve not fit thematically with
the game, and as a 5th established already in the school you’d have miss the Sorting and bonding with characters you’d have already knew.

I hope the game finds a good balance between combat, story and the experience of living in Hogwarts, although from the trailer I’d say they did that.

I really liked sorting on Pottermore, it didn't feel like those quizzes where you could easily see which answers lead to what result.

I'm always Ravenclaw, though it's not like I needed tests to tell me that. I figured that out myself after reading the books
