So, Quidditch, but make it optional (depending on choice and possibly on stats - characters with better "physical" stats will have an easier time getting in the Quidditch team, but characters weaker in these might have it harder? Or possibly only have some positions in the team open? You would probably need Strength or comparable stat to become a Beater! At the same time, I think Harry was noted as very agile, thus perfect for a Seeker?).
Be able to join the bad guys... That one kinda goes without saying! Choice and consequence!
And of course the houses, but those will be in! I'm actually excited, haven't been this excited for an RPG since... Well, last month, really, Wasteland 3 just came out some twenty days ago!

I'll see. I only played exactly on HP game, the one released together with the OotP film. It was pretty mediocre, but once I stopped taking it seriosly, it was good derpy humor. Syv why am I not surprised you're a Slytherin? Took the test you linked. Took it sometime before as well. This time, my highest rating was Slytherin followed by Hufflepuff. Should I really come to play this game and be confronted with the sorting, I'd just resort to become a Hufflepuff, because they don't care. Heh...well, they do say that a Slytherin + Hufflepuff makes for the most terryfing team-up
I'm aiming for inter-house friendships

The animations look a little dated. Early build or...? They looks very fluid to me outside the "duel" and "bad wizard" scenes. That guy moves funny. Saying that, Avalanche Software is a studio that has made Disney themed games for years until WB bought then in 2017. This is their best looking game ever.

It feels like it has been a while since a similar RPG with a character creator has come out. I'll probably check it out for that alone.
I'll be automatically suspicious of any Slytherin characters. I don't care if that makes me Huffleprejudiced or Racistclaw.

I'm aiming for inter-house friendships I have no trouble with that. TBH I think that house pissing contests are schtupid anyway. Remembers me of a ... fraternisaton fanfic I know about. An inter-house (Red&Green) couple which was more interested in... coupling than watching a Quidditch game. It feels like it has been a while since a similar RPG with a character creator has come out. I'll probably check it out for that alone. I'll be automatically suspicious of any Slytherin characters. I don't care if that makes me Huffleprejudiced or Racistclaw. You forgot Gryffindork.

Super excited for this game. Late 1800’s is a great time for the franchise. I can’t wait to see the character creator. Did I see someone mention companions? That’s intriguing!
Love that the linked sorting quiz actually shows the percentages. I’m a Gryffindor on Pottermore but I’ve always been surprised I’m not a Ravenclaw. I just retook it using that link and I’m still a Gryffindor (81%) and Ravenclaw is my second (64%) but it wasn’t even close. And the rest are even further: Hufflepuff (48%) and Slytherin (12%). So I might as well just accept that I’m a Gryffindor and embrace it.

^ You can't retake it on the official site if you've done it once (I already tried that some time back) but I found a site where they remade it, and it's pretty accurate ^^ (aka. I still get Hufflepuff) linkit has all the official questions and answers, give it a go ^^ Thank you! 83% Ravenclaw 52% Gryffindor Slytherin was last. I'll have to brush up on my Machiavellian tendancies

I'm also Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin in that order. Very little Slytherin.

88% Ravenclaw, both Hupplepuff and Slytherin in the 30% and Gryffindor in the teens (which makes no sense to me, I have a protective/courageous personality, it should be in the 30% with the other two ).

we're just not evil enough is that from "a very Potter musical?" Hey! I went full renegade for all 3 Mass Effects, shooting a kid in the face and letting the Universe burn! I can do evilz. But ok I'll practice more I've done the Dark Brotherhood quest-lines in both Oblivion and Skyrim said characters also got all the Daedric artifacts...one of them included making an entire town murder one another (Boethiah I believe)
oh and making a fake prophecy a real one by doing Uncle Sheo's bidding
my canon Warden also killed a child (Connor) and let various blood mages live...and a few demons so yeah...I can do evil too
Buckeldemon once said to me "I imagine you laughing like Hades from Disney's Hercules"...I view that as a compliment

I took the quiz again, curious whether anything had changed but yeah, still definitely Ravenclaw!
Ravenclaw - 89% Hufflepuff - 48% Gryffindor - 46% Slytherin - 26%
I'm a little surprised Gryffindor is that high even but otherwise it is about what I would expect.

I like the idea of this game (I'm a Ravenclaw).
Though the PR of this game launch is going to be fraught with difficulty given JK's diplomacy skills of a half brick.
I can certainly respect the position of those who will boycott it.

To me JK Rowling built an incredible world and people love to play in it. Her opinions are a problem sure, that's the same with a fair few authors/creators (Roald Dahl for example "Roald Dahl was a terrible man who wrote macabre books, and yet children around the world adore him") and there are a lot of very talented and nicer people who have worked on this game, a game JK reportedly had very little to do with. Imo any boycott hurts the developers more than Rowling. She's already been paid for this license And I'm interested to see what this game's about. I love the concept of an open world sim/rpg in Hogwarts, and I love the 1800s setting. This is easily a buy on release/pre-order for me. Can't wait!

I can certainly respect the position of those who will boycott it. They are already trying to distance themselves from Rowling, for in the FAQ that was posted they added in that Rowling had no involvement with the game.

There are other examples where the creator is behind held accountable for their actions in the past. I think James Gunn is a good example due to a knee-jerk reaction by Disney who gave him a pass for those comments before the first Guardians movie was filmed, but the second time it was brought up they fired him. Now they did rehire him, but it was old comments he had already apologized for in the past. If you want to go for another novelist I think Orson Scott Card is a pretty good example for his comments and financial support for organizations people don't like. There was a pretty strong boycott of Ender's Game in 2013 when it was released. As far as Rowling not getting any financial support I would guess based on comments about other properties I have seen adapted its more then just a one-time payment its also a portion of the sales that go to the IP holder (which is where I think the boycott is aimed, where people don't want any of their money to go back to Rowling). Its not about hurting anyone its about not feeling you are supporting Rowling's believes and supporting her comments. Developers aren't as lucky where they don't reap any benefits of a successful game they are paid by salary or by contract wages and the majority of them are off the game once it is released for DLC is normally a much smaller development team and even then if there wasn't additional content I could see them being just moved to a new property. I just don't see it hurting the developers and it might be a disappointment for them, but I don't see them losing because of it.

There are other examples where the creator is behind held accountable for their actions in the past. Very few. William Golding, author of Lord of the flies, recounted events where he tried to rape an underage girl. I think James Gunn is a good example due to a knee-jerk reaction by Disney who gave him a pass for those comments before the first Guardians movie was filmed, but the second time it was brought up they fired him. He was rehired because there was a backlash AGAINST his firing. From actors and fans. I just don't see it hurting the developers and it might be a disappointment for them, but I don't see them losing because of it. Triple A development is an incredibly tight financial space. Don't make enough money and the company closes, is sold, or has reduced projects which, yes, hurts the developers. At the end of the day Rowling gets paid and doesn't need the money anyway. A boycott could ruin the gaming studio leaving developers out of work. It's very obvious who a boycott hurts more
