It's cool how Anderson in ME1 looks closer to his design in ME3. I wonder if the same has happened to Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani (Westerlund News).

The one near the lava, you are clearly already in a shadow, as a bit further out, you see where the 'sunlight' reaches. Since you're already in a shadow, any other shadows would not be as prominent. If you look closely, the shadow is still there. The second one in the blizzard, the ground in the original is shiny for no reason. Yeah, that shiny ground is a technical limitation of the time, I think. They wanted it to look like "snowy ground" but couldn't, so they went for this kind of bright rocky ground. Now they can actually make it look snowy.

I haven't paid attention to MELE (really that's how we are calling this?) but I read something somewhere that made me come into this thread and look at things online. OMG! I'm going to have to pre-order this now...and I wasn't planning to. Although, I was weirdly planning of playing MET after I wasn't as much into SWTOR. Subconscious?

So I watched a bunch of stuff related to the Legendary Edition and I think the weirdest part is Liara's voice. No, no it haven't changed. It's just that Ali Hillis voices all sort of suspicious/bad/evil women in SWTOR and hearing Liara's voice over some ME footage totally doesn't match in my head currently. Also, if I read correctly they made ME1 easier? Yes, the boss fight were a bit of a PITA for first timers, but I always found the game super easy on normal after 10ish levels. Improved Mako looks awesome. I always loved the Mako, but yes it was floaty/bouncy, but I so enjoyed driving over geths with it.... The improved lightning looks great, as does the new character creator options.

I hope they made insanity something other than tedious in ME1.
My first ME run was on easy, then normal, then hardcore ... mostly to focus on story early on, but also to get used to game mechanics.
Immunity made my ME insanity run pretty silly ... did it for the achievement, then switched to hardcore for the remaining runs.
In ME2 and ME3, ramped up to insanity across the first few runs, then stayed there ... it was more of a challenge, without being tedious.
Insanity should be a challenge, not tedious. Here's hoping.

Agreed on ME1, the immunity ability on the Krogan was more of an annoyance than anything. ME2's insanity was well balanced. I found ME3's insanity to be too easy honestly, especially with an imported character. A well upgraded infiltrator and sniper can one shot most enemies. Even a health and shield buff for the enemies would be appreciated, despite it being the easy way out. Then again, maybe it's just too many hours I sunk into ME3's multiplayer that caused insanity to seem easy. You go from three powers in MP to about 8 in SP, plus your companions' powers.

Nah, I played ME3's insanity before I touched mp, and it was still laughingly easy. The only somehow challenging part was Mirror Match.

Then again, maybe it's just too many hours I sunk into ME3's multiplayer that caused insanity to seem easy. You go from three powers in MP to about 8 in SP, plus your companions' powers. Agree with both your points WRT ME2 and ME3 …
I didn't really note how "easy" ME3 insanity was, until I'd played ME3MP a bunch … MP really upped my SP game play skills … not just for ME, but across the board.
In subsequent runs through ME, ME2 and ME3, it still felt like ME2 insanity was more of a challenge than the ME3 insanity level.
Added: I should probably note just how incredibly bad my game skills were … MP forced me into using my mouse buttons instead of keyboard for my most used powers, that was a huge leap for me to play on higher MP levels … plus put SP into "easy" mode … even on insanity.
Much later, MP got a boost again, when I improved my internet connection … I avoided hosting, except on bronze, because my connection gave everyone serious lag … but the better connection also helped me a lot when off host, even with a bad host, since I was no longer contributing to the problem. Not an issue with SP, but helped improve my MP performance.

Anytime someone mentions the ME3MP I remember how awesome it was. It really is a shame that it's not included, but, they should bring it back down the line. I wonder how though, because, ME3 was one of the games that focused on loot boxes, sort of. And considering how that is illegal now in some places, it would need a complete overhaul. I doubt people kept playing it to unlock stuff. Although that was part of it, it was simply a great and challenging time to play. They were so creative with all the characters.
That studio did not deserve to be closed...

I wouldn't mind if they bumped difficulty of insanity in ME3 tho, since it was a joke. Yup. ME2 struck a pretty good balance, insanity wasn't hard but it didn't feel easy like in ME3 or just a slog through immunity soak pools in ME1.
As an aside I read an article that said they are changing immunity so it is now a short term powerful buff instead of a permanent low end buff. And I'm like that is what it was, at immunity level 3 a 80% damage reduction for a short time, fitness which spawned immunity was a passive buff.

I don't know by what metric 80% DR is "low" to them. If anything that maximum needs to be about halved (on both the player and enemies) With a half decent set of armor, you're functionally immortal as long as its active (20+ seconds), and once you get to Luna for your specialization class you can get the cooldown low enough to keep it active 100% of the time on both the Soldier and Infiltrator. Your health bar at that point in the game may as well not exist anymore. Reducing the uptime is nice and all but buffing the DR even higher is bad. Unless it's like a 5 second ability with a 5 minute cooldown, it'll still be a busted win button.

I'm like dude soldiers and infiltrators will impossible to kill. You don't need crowd control when you are invincible, and you can always bring a biotic with you, as a biotic you can still be dropped by that sniper. Not that they weren't broken, just more that all the classes pretty much were for one reason or another. ME1 was stupid easy no matter your class, just tedious on insanity.
But supposedly rebalancing of guns and powers is happening. I'm worried they may make adept better in ME2, my favorite game play for the adept and vanguard was insanity ME2.

Yeah, ME1 biotics are powerful but on insanity if that sniper gets a bead, you get unlucky with a rocket drone swarm or your lift misses one of those 3 krogan, you can have a problem. Immunity classes don't care. The sniper or rocket will hardly chip your health. The krogan can headbutt you 50 times and you shrug it off. Put frictionless materials, hold down the trigger, move from target to target and profit. Easily the most braindead way to play I'd say Engineer was the only ME1 class that wasn't busted, and even it has both Hacking and Neural Shock being very strong abilities. Well ME2 is gonna have more ammo drops so that's gonna make some of the now fine weapons busted (and the already busted Mattock even more).

I agree with more "ammo" in ME2 since most powers are almost useless against shields/barrier/armor. On ME3 i started playing insanity only using level 1 weapons, that way there is still some challenge instead of killing most enemies with 5-10 shots (wish they would go away with weapon levels).

There was some missions where ammo was really scarce in ME2. Like the derelict reaper ship waves phase. The first time I played ME2, it was with an adept and I wasn't getting headshots every shots. There was a few "running around like a chicken" moment during that phase of the mission waiting after cooldowns and ammo to spawn...

I mean, that's what we were talking about. (Cries in console tears) We exist dammit! I actually prefer to play on a console now. I have a PS5, and it does more than what my PC could ever do when only comes to gaming performance. Maintaining a PC is expensive, and frustrating. They are prone to errors more often than consoles. I don't have to worry about replacing one or multiple parts (especially since GPUs are even more expensive and/or unavailable). I like the convenience of relaxing with controller in hand, while still enjoying great visuals and performance on my big screen TV.
