Mass Effect Legendary Edition (General Discussion)

We really don't know yet.  They are calling it a remaster but their working of what that entails was very vague. At the very least a graphical update.  If you are mod conversant that is probably not a big deal fr you though. I'm not, so a graphical upgrade is something for me.  I have all the series on origin so I'm curious what will happen, its rare but I've seen them just give you the remastered version on PC for free as the upgrade is such a smaller bump.  Will it show up on EA play instantly, in a month etc. There are rumors that there are some gameplay improvements to ME1 due to how dated that gameplay was, but nothing official and it could be total crap.

Given how far along they are with DA I'm not sure we can add the s to the end of writer. Hell I'm not sure A writer is working on it.  They very well may be at the shoot the shit on your coffee break while working on DA stage.

There's multiple people involved, but the spitballing phase, as far as it has been made clear to me, is still going on.

No words about Mass Effect 1 gameplay improvements, that seems like a missed opportunity. If the game is on FB3, I'm not getting it.

they showed even less at last year's VGAs.

It appears no new voice acting has been done for Legendary Edition, some of voice actors on N7 Day stream had no idea about this remaster and even Ashley's VA was confused is it just original trilogy or does it include MEA.

The better question should be the overall mood the spaghetti monster had for the company when it comes to morale, versus their progress report. 


As to the Legendary Edition...i've kinda known for a while it was coming as well from folks, and frankly i'm going to buy a copy anyway so I can stream it online...so there is that at least. 

I'm happy that the legacy of the series still can endure. 

Converting the entire thing to Frostbite sounds like a lot more work than it’s worth. Anything’s possible, but I honestly don’t see why they’d bother. It just seems to me like it would be more expensive in terms of the workload to get this done than to just improve upon the framework the original games are built upon.

Somehow you can now look forward to everything or nothing. They are simply more words than deeds. The expectations and assessments of customers and fans have not been very consistent with the assessments and actions of Bioware lately.
Nice cover, with nice animations. Hurray, the Trilogy appears in more beautiful for all current and upcoming platforms. Except for the Switch, which can of course mean that Bioware is more improved than the mods Updated/Improved Textures and A Lot of Textures do, but that is no excuse to exclude the Switch. There are already several ways to play ME on TV, not on the road so far. On the Switch, MET would definitely have a right to exist, which does not only consist of graphic power. Presumably it is also really only about graphic power. New textures and lighting are quickly made for Bioware itself. One would hope, of course, if nothing would be created by third parties this time.

Not really, I think there are too many different opinions on what should be the ending and what shouldn't and it would just be a headache online when inevitably nobody is going to be happy.  This way they can just leave it with "its only a remaster" and leave it alone.
