The extra fog is fantastic where you can see it. Other than that the upgrade looks little more than blurring the edges of everything. Maybe a few more twinkling lights from the oblivious citadel city below...
You wanna talk to me about realism in a world where people fling shit around with their mind?
Why not? There is lots of realistic stuff in it so there is stuff to discuss.
Nobody cares about whether it is practical or not. It's a video game. Go nuts.
I'm nobody? If we abandon tons of practical things in the game just like that and go nuts, the game would be all over the place, which is a sign that there is LOTS of stuff in the game that was designed to be practical. And I want one more.
If you do care about an imaginary woman, in space, that can manipulate the mass of the objects around her, wearing heels on the battlefield, you have way too much free time. I just enjoy it.
Well, cool story bro, I don't enjoy it. Also, thinking about art choices is a sign that I have too much time? What? Where the hell is that considered a thing? In North Korean gulags?
I didn't mean to sound irrational. I just really liked the looks of these designs. I just find them fascinating. As I said earlier, especially for Samara. She looked absolutely regal to me with her golden collar and her imposing posture and those immaculate features. I don't want it to change, because I don't want to lose that.
When I die, I want Bioware to carry my casket, so they can let me down, one last time.

I must agree. While realism should play a role, I think most of us escape to games particularly for the fictitious aspects. Samara is absolutely stunning and got immediate queen status from me because of that 'unrealistic' outfit which fits her personality and character perfectly. I was more than fine with accepting her heels simply because of her poise and abilities with biotics. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Gee I wonder if the Starchild got an improvement too?
It did.
Before thing shows up, it will be Bugs Bunny. He walks up to Shepard chewing his carrot asking, ah What's up doc? After that, thing shows up looking like Pinocchio. As it talks, it's nose gets longer and bigger. It will also be wearing a tee shirt with the words Green is my favorite color. Once the player gains control of Shepard, a little itty-bitty Anderson shows up on Shepard's right shoulder while a itty-bitty TIM shows up on Shepard's left shoulder. They argue between each other trying to convince Shepard to chose the red or blue.
If there's to be a change I would like it to be the look of thing itself. What I mean is change to a different character when it's talking. Maybe look like your LI when it first shows up. When talking about the red, it changes to look like Anderson. With blue, look like TIM. Don't know what character it would change to for the green

I do find it weird that almost nobody mentioned that, especially given the fact that he’s a black man. I do think however, that post release we’d see a lot of complaints.
It’s sad, if we consider the his loyalty mission, and what his father did.
Which was a betrayal of his character arc, I don't care if people find him boring that was plain wrong what Bioware did. I can't believe they did a thing like that, It made me think at the time that they never cared about diversity, they just cared about APPEARING that they care about diversity. And that's wrong with society today, it's all about looking good but not actually doing good.
You're only realizing this now?? Well, better late than never! ;P

Again though, I think most people aren’t saying they should remove the original outfits. They’re simply saying that they want BioWare to add a few more outfits to match their own preferences. I mean, I like having Miranda with the Cerberus Armour (although I’d prefer the Armour to be sleeker) in combat. I remove that when she’s in the ship. It’s what I’d to to Samara, or Jack. For example, Thane looks quite cool in his dlc outfit, where it seems he has a light armour plating under his coat. That looks better to me then his original outfit, and it’s more ‘realistic’, if you will.

I would change little, but I’d have much preferred some dialogue options during the game in regards of Shepard’s ‘nightmares’ that would steer the direction of the appearance Starbrat takes. I get the reasoning behind the child’s choice, but it’s still a forced one that overrides the feelings and decision of the players when roleplaying their Shepard.
Its about the whole attitude that leads to changes like this and ends up with what we got in Andromeda where everyone has potato faces.
I like having sexiness in my escapism. Personally I could not care less whether they keep Miranda's butt shot or not but its part of the trend that needs to be squashed.
beauty, as ever, remaina in the eye of the beholder and I'd say that Andromeda... Like the trilogy...ran the entire gamut.

You know what the bottom line is? Bioware couldn't even make a remaster without at least one controversy. If Bioware wanted to gather data, this will dilate the pool. This will cost them sales, as I said, not because of what they changed, but because of how they went about it, how they abused it for points and what this says about future games development.
ME2 is the best received game in the series. This is a fact. And people would not react kindly to any changes to it, that weren't additions. Bioware would have known this, or should have known this. This just keeps showing how out of touch they are with their audience, or how they dislike their audience. And especially the second part, we've had reports of it since Anthem's launch, that Bioware blames their audience for not liking Anthem.
This just is ... yet another Bioware release. Same as the last one.
When I die, I want Bioware to carry my casket, so they can let me down, one last time.

yeah Thanes outfit bugged me a bit too.

the trouble is fans are fishing again. The only ones who are making an issue of this are the ones who tend to look for an issue in anything that happens these days in entertainment. Then to further conflate this as some larger company or societal trend is absurd.

The bigger question I have is how are they going to change it? Will they simply change the character angle or will we have to deal with awkward pieces of furniture or other props blocking the view. I can just see some desk chair rocketing around behind Shepard and Miranda on the Citadel as the two of them walk
Not sure how this modder did it. It looks more than a camera edit. Anyway, its an example of what the scene could look like.

I think that's maybe a bit harsh on BioWare. Clearly they mean well, but they are just as capable as the rest of us at being an ignorant buffoon sometimes.

The same thing, as dismissively, can be said from the other side.

I don't know, I just feel like this whole buttshot thing reeks of a marketing gimmick. Maybe closer to the release Bioware will be like '' we heard from our players, and decided to preserve the buttshot! How awesome are we!? ''
So stupid. And if they are going through with this change, I don't really wanna hear Bioware talk about '' well we just wanted to preserve the game like it was, because we really care about the nostalgic value the game has as it was when people first played it! '' or whatever. So you are fine removing things, but adding this is off the table? Okay.
What's really important is Miranda's new ultra 4k butt will finally settle the debate on whether it's better than Cora's.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt they are updating much aside from the textures. Miranda will still have that low poly butt that makes it look lumpy and lopsided. No chance of her catching up to the Andromeda butts.
Gee I wonder if the Starchild got an improvement too?
I've actually never seen the Starchild. Aside from youtube clips. I didn't buy ME3 till long after the MEHEM came out, and I seriously doubt I'll get the LE until after MEHEM-LE comes out as well.

it generally is easier to destroy then create in the first place. And i get nostalgic over a great many things but Mirandas butt ain't one of them.

Is that the fault of BW for changing a couple of camera angles to fit their own sensibilities or of the grifters who want to use video games to fight a culture war?
