I have to ask, does anyone know if the word Morrison refer to Kieran or is it like an inside joke or something? I haven't been keeping up with DA news til the teasers came out this year and me being the tin foil hatter I am makes me wonder if Kieran will have a bigger part to play in the story or not 😆 I'll assume that it's for Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors, just as I assume Joplin is Janice Joplin. You assume correctly!

Some more interesting (older) concept art (same source): - No idea who this is, but it's got quite a vibe... - The original Archdemon design. Now we know what those winged statues originally were in DA:O.

- No idea who this is, but it's got quite a vibe... At first I saw only top of that concept art and immediately thought "hey, it's Disney princess". Then scrolled lower. "Well... stabby Disney princess." And I really dig that original Archdemon design.

I’m guessing this was before they actually added dragons back in (ironically after they decided of call it Dragon Age), interesting that one has tentacles at the bottom and the other statues don’t? Kinda like the sea monster concept art 🤔

The "falon'din' concept art looks so lovecraftian, as well as the sea serpent concept art. I wonder if that is the vibe they are going for in DA4? It is interesting because I never got a lovecraftian vibe from DAO or the evanuris in general but seeing all this concept art has me imagining so many different creature and character concepts! *excited*

If DA4 is made in a similar vein to the Horror of Hormak I will be pleasantly surprised.. I never really expected that angle from Dragon Age tbh. But thinking about it, those statues in DAO were so creepy and wacky compared to what people traditionally think of when thinking of elves and elven rulers. Perhaps Falon'Din is Dirthamen without the robes and Dirthamen is a tentacled alien. But if Dirthamen was one of Mythal's children, what does that make Mythal🤔 I always assumed she was a dragon but maybe it's more complicated than that. The sea serpent head looks like the Mythal statue in the deep roads...

I just want to say its quite a good time to be a BioWare fan right now actually. I can't speak for anyone else but it just seems like they are building towards something and then we have a new ME game to look forward to, the ME remaster, this new book, marketing has gotten more and more frequent with the new DA game. About the only thing to really look forward to with this crummy year. Yep, really looking forward to the next few years. Not just "DA4", the trilogy remaster, and new ME but "Anthem Next" as well. Pretty excited...

Kinda like the sea monster concept art 🤔 It also explains that strange picture on p.38-39 of World of Thedas of a tall figure in the Deep Roads. I wondered if it was meant to be Mythal or one of the other elven gods (it still could be) but the headdress is definitely that of the proto arch-demon.

Though Andruil is known to have a spear, I think it's more likely to be Ghilain’nain as she's closely associated with sea monters (and monsters in general).

And I think they might be setting something up further down the line with LitG, like traveling to a Lovecratian horror realm.

"Shadows of the past" makes me think that they may be pieces of the Evanuris, just as Flemeth declared herself as a shadow. If the Evanuris were fully unleashed, it'd be absolutely catastrophic. I mean, look at that monstrosity! Seeing as Ghili'nain didn't destroy her creations of the sea, maybe she put a piece of herself into one of her creations? I have so many questions! Also, that singular, glowing eye looks familiar : The Evanuris taking the Titans all-seeing-eye for themselves could explain their connection to "godhood," beyond their immortality (Cory was not all-seeing, after all.)

Seeing as Ghili'nain didn't destroy her creations of the sea, maybe she put a piece of herself into one of her creations? Now that would make sense. I'm sure Mythal wasn't the only one to know about this form of life insurance. Remember also that "Pride" stayed her hand and the fact a capital letter was used suggests it could actually have been Solas who stopped her. So who knows if she would be for or against him. Anyway, it seems possible from some of the previous concept art of flying aravels and the fortress at Weishauppt looking as though it was in the middle of a gigantic fade rift that even if Solas doesn't actually bring down the Veil, it is weakened enough that strange things start happening. If the last Breach was capable of waking the titan, presumably a similar rift in the Veil might wake other equally ancient and powerful creatures.

And I think they might be setting something up further down the line with LitG, like traveling to a Lovecratian horror realm. There's always been an undercurrent of Lovecraft to the series. The Fade being a dreamscape where otherworldly beings can reach out and affect the minds of mortals is very Lovecraftian. The Darkspawn being this giant, seemingly impossible to stop force lurking just underground waiting for their moment to rise up and devour the world is as well. There's more to Lovecraft than tentacles.

Oh something else I just thought of...if that monster is Ghilan'nain (omg...can you IMAGINE the boss battle) what do people reckon this statue is of? I was thinking of the Cekorax and it's multiple heads...But who could it be... 🤔 Ghil again or someone else?? Maybe the spikes are heads or eyes? We know Ghil has a special interest in eyes and the elves maybe even harvested dragons for eyes basd on the mortalitasi concept art. If the evanuris are all alien like monsters it would make the sun and moon origin stories SO deliciously wrong...yet sort of right. lol. Now I'm also thinking about the statue the humans find at the start of DAO in the dalish origin. A small stone statue of a woman with antlers like a halla, with the moon under her right foot, and two hares beside her. The base of the statue is covered in strange writing.Considering that Mythal has traditionally been seen as the goddess of the moon I wonder if Ghil's exploits got mixed into Mythal's own story somehow. It does seem like Ghil has a pretty big part to play in the story especially since her iconography is in key locations at the Temple of Mythal and that Crestwood spot where Solas breaks up with Lavellan. Anyway the new crop of the concept art opens up so many questions to me and I know it's just an image but I have so many ideas on where this could go. The evanuris really do seem like a deadly soap opera and honestly I want to know more. Like, I get the impression Andruil was the kind of person who was easily manipulated by the people around her. Her spear is now associated with her, Ghil, and Falon'Din's statue. Yet she is known for her bow and hunter skills. And June is known as the god of craft, not Andruil. Which makes me wonder, why did Andruil even make the spear in the first place 🤔

I always imagined that the Evanuris would be more Lovecraftian in nature than a group of Hellenistic gods.

A game that ruins and throws my favorite game away like trash, another game most likely being abandoned, a texture pack, and a self-congratulatory vanity piece. Oh yeah, so much to look forward too. It sucks that you feel that way; I really mean that. That being said, I have to be honest... That day they released the Making Of video for DA4, and you went on an absolute tirade in the subsequent thread... Never in my life have I felt a sense of excitement, despair, humor, and sadness in one go from reading text on a screen. The utter evisceration and devolving of your mind as I scrolled page after page kept me invested in that thread for days on end. And I want to thank you for that.
