There is no characterization options my guy. That is my point. V is a blank character, with no goals at all. So you complaining that V is being re-written somehow is just ridiculous, because that would require V to have an original goal in order for it to be changed. There are dialogue choices and mission choices in the game so there clearly is characterization options. If they wanted no characterization they should have removed them as well as removing the silly rooftop ending mechanic and had just a single epilogue for the single version of V wanting only to be a legend that you pretend there is. Dialogue and missions choices is not an overarching goal V wants to achieve dude. Are you just so hell bent on hating this that your not even thinking this through? You keep saying The Living Legend isn't V's goal, then what is? You can't tell me, because there isn't one. So I don't know why your even complaining.

You can choose to reject that goal through dialogue by dismissing it as being nothing but a fantasy when you speak to the doll at Clouds. I always considered it a moment where you can basically change your character’s motivation. Yes, you can reject it, but your given no real options, in character, to replace it with. V is a blank. That sounds about business as usual for this sort of character, and I didn’t really consider that a negative. Long-term goals is usually not much of a thing with these characters so much as it’s about resolving whatever conflicts the game’s about. V’s motivation to be a legend is essentially what drives the story forward to get to the point where the heist goes to shit, but at least it allows you to ultimately reject it (though you become a legend anyway lol). V doesn’t seem any more of a blank than Shepard or the Warden. Who knows what they want? They just want to kill reapers or darkspawn for the most part. I feel like to some extent, these things should be a blank, because I think there should be room for us to decide what we think our character might want.

Personally i have thought it through and feel V is free enough not to simply want to be a legend of night City. If V only wants to be a living legend boss of afterlife why is the Nomad ending even allowed. If V's allowed to choose a nomad family over wanting to be a living legend boss of night city/afterlife, why is V forced to be a living legend in another ending based solely on his/her refusal to kill some nomads.

Yea, it's not really a problem for me personally. I didn't care that V was just some random shmuck wandering around doing whatever.

Make up your mind my dude, both of those things can't be true lol.

One of the endings is already clearly already a forced showcase that boss of afterlife isn’t so(Star). it is a joke that v is rewritten and forced to be that in another ending.

V’s a legend even in the Star ending, technically. I like to think that all the cars I bought exponentially go up in value lol. “Oh shit, that was V’s ride!”

In star i assume it’s car thieves that get to profit from those car sales.

Hey what do you guys think? Should I continue with the current playthrough (approx 75% done with main storyline) or begin with the Melee-only, no hack, stealth Fem-Samurai? I can't decide

I'd go with finish.
You're close enough to might as well see it through. You can race through and only finish of the main quest, and keep a spare save file before you sprinted through incase you decide you want to finish all the things first.
I did a netrunner PT first.
Have started a second melee hulk smasher one, but for me, I preferred the first one. This is probably just personal choice/play style really more than anything, and I will probably skip through most of it later on. I'd say I'm a good 1/3rd way through.

Wow ... my current V is a netrunner/gunslinger/tech-nerd. It isn't so much that he's a boring character, but more that the gameplay seems to be overly easy or insanely difficult. There's not much grey area. For some reason "pulling a Skyrim" & keeping a save after beginning again hadn't even occured to me. That's an excellent plan. Gonna start the Fem-Samurai tonight. Thanks

Some people are complaining that certain weapons got nerfed in the update, namely Comrade’s Hammer, which was doing massive one-hit crits. Considering how easy it is to steamroll over everything with just about any build, I can’t really complain. I favor revolvers and swords along with a really powerful stack of mods on a legendary cyberdeck. Not sure what the hell’s capable of stopping me.

The Burya* was a tech weapon with a charge ability, but the charge never worked (or always worked I guess) and it felt it shot everything as if charged. Maybe they just fixed that part? I'll have to give another go at Cyberpunk 2077 with patch 1.2. *Comrade's Hammer is a unique Burya. I actually don't like it, standard Burya are better.

I die every time I hear "Imma destroy you" Keep getting random shotgun blasts from enemies after I've ended them. Maybe no more than half a second after I've...finished with them. Randomly started taking a beating...until I realised I was only running around wearing only River's tank top and nothing else. Not even shoes

Yea a youtuber I watch finished the whole game with the comrade. He literally one shot every single enemy in the game for the rest of the game after he got it. Adam Smasher was the only guy who survived the first shot. Was totally ridiculous lol.
