Was there a statement from EA/Bioware as to why there was no dlc?
What I'm curious about is how many new players played MEA vs players who played the trilogy as well? Of those new players, how many of them would want another game with Ryder? Of course how many new players would be attracted to a MEA2 without playing MEA? Since the sales for MEA wasn't great, having an MEA2 might attract less new players than new players who played MEA.

MEA2 most likely would attract less people that is how most sequels go. It is possible they successfully market an adaption of a current trend and the popularity goes up like from ME1 to ME2. What that is, who knows, what will be the next gears of war that creates a new genre of action game. If 4 years from now something like that exists they may have time to steal the ideas for whatever this game will be called.

A google trend does not prove a majority reviles the game. It actually shows nothing of substance other than.. its trend on google. You could have at least posted to metacritic. At least that would have gotten a laugh from everyone. This attempt just made no sense other than avoiding already debunked attempts to prove the game is reviled. What's your excuse as to why Andromeda is... THE ONLY MASS EFFECT GAME WITHOUT DLC? I cannot wait to see how you move the goalposts for this one. Anthem. And you still haven’t proved “reviled” so no need to move any goalpost. You guys have shanked every shot high and wide.

Flounder production and reduced staff -ME3 DLC staff i think were responsible for most of ME:A if memory serves.... Not to mention EA has had their grubby little hands in the til since 2007.

Yes and either way you look at it there is and will be a scorned player base that will not be happy.
Bioware may have a better chance of starting in a new galaxy -maybe Triangulum and then heading to MW or Andromeda. Though better tread carefully -they are fast running out of close galaxies.
Or maybe off starting with this all being a weird psychotropic nightmare happening in Shepard's mind. While he/she is tied up current day in an insane asylum and Ryder is the attending physician.... I definitely would pick the first option first.

A you tube schmuck? Is that the extent of your source? Anyone who played through the game should know DLC was planned. They left far too many DLC hooks for them not to have planned to have it. Any official statements to the contrary are either outright lies or using weasel words to lie. We hadn't planned out the DLC, AKA we planned to have DLC, left some hooks but hadn't actually started on the planning of the individual DLCs themselves.

I remember BioWare saying the game didnt have ability to load DLC in it. Not sure was it Weekes or Darrah who said about it in some interview.

I would like to see that interview and analyize just how badly they put their foot in their mouths...
Maybe it is just me but when I played ME:A the multiplayer aspect felt almost like it had been repurposed from possible DLC.
The DLC's of ME:A may have been ripped apart and dumbed down to give us the Multiplayer elements. EA hoping that it would revitalize the game enough for it to make a profit for them and then to axe the game monetarily from the fan base: Just my two cents as wrong as they may be.
I don't care anymore till they prove me wrong.
Your reputation is sacked Bioware you will have to redeem yourself massively.
Maybe Casey Hudson finally saw the writing on the wall and got out of dodge while the getting was good.

EA has previously cheered Mass Effect Andromeda’s impact on its own bottom line, claiming that full PC game and console downloads generated $111M in net sales, 32% higher than the year before. This was specifically called out as being driven by ME:A Interesting.

Anthem took up a ton of time and resources in 2017-2018 because it was a mess that was expected to be a cash cow like other games of its ilk. I believe Andromeda was only ever a stop gap.

Andromeda just wasn't a very good Mass Effect game....bland story and bland characters.....the loyalty missions and the mystery of the Jardan i believe were the only high points of the game itself....that forced "trans" cutscene?....like what in the world was they trying to accomplish with that?.....Morda's character?..(felt like they was checking off some type of bucket list)...Ryder not being able to do anything without Sam?......Ryder's father able to understand alien tech to terraform entire planets?
I understand its sci-fi and you have to give the game some leeway,...but part of it is also grounded to some form of reality....SAM may be super advanced, but being able to successfully decode Remnant vaults is a bit of a stretch.....The kett...who have been there maybe hundreds of years was not able to decode the technology, yet SAM can do anything.....anytime Ryder ran into a problem, SAM...do this...SAM...unlock this door....etc....
Game wasn't bad tho.....just a bit boring for me....and yes...bottomline the game didn't sell well, thats why it didn't get any DLC.....DLC sales from ME3 was still pretty solid from a few years ago when last i checked....as bad as folks hated ME3 ending, that journey from the beginning of ME3 to the end was a blast and i can play multiple playthroughs of the ME2 and 3 (never played the 1st game) and still get a satisfying experience every single time.
I actually fell asleep playing andromeda on my 2nd playthrough trying to give it a chance in that maybe i missed something, but it just couldn't hold my attention...its not all bad tho....the game even today has some stellar visuals in terms of environments and the Nomad animates impressively and the skins for it are pretty slick..combat is pretty smooth too...game had strong sales out of the gate, but it quickly fizzled and not because of the memes or anything like that...if the game was a good mass effect game, it would have sold well and received DLC...it didn't....and the game pretty much hit the bargain bin pretty fast.....

I said it. And Schrier’s takes on Andromeda and Anthem point at it. Anthem took up a ton of time and resources in 2017-2018 because it was a mess that was expected to be a cash cow like other games of its ilk. I believe Andromeda was only ever a stop gap. Yeah. Though in my opinion Anthem was 2018 and 2019 resources wasted and 2017 all resources allocated to ME:A were drained to Anthem. They thought it would be a bumpy ride... but would catch on...
These bumper cars did a better job than either of those titles in this case though. So you have no clue how many copies they sold? Gotcha. I know how many physical copies were supposedly sold and so do you. Just search google: "Mass Effect Andromeda physical copies sold" "Mass Effect 3 physical copies sold"
If you do that you get these results: ME3 sold 3.5 million physical copies
ME:A sold 2.5 million physical copies
This point of contention however is beyond pathetic and mute to compare and complain about anyway. These can only be estimates and furthermore with origin and all other online services that provide digital downloads these days those numbers are borked anyway.
I still have as of yet to see a RPG sell north of 5-7 million physical copies. And as things continue go more and more digital those physical copy numbers will just continue decline.

These can only be estimates and furthermore with origin and all other online services the provide digital downloads these days those numbers are borked anyway.
I still have as of yet to see a RPG sell north of 5-7 million copies.
It doesn't account for how much it sold digitally though.

Andromeda is not as highly regarded as the OT This is very much my view. I've played it 6 times maybe and its entertaining enough, it just doesn't hit the story beats that the OT managed. There is a public perception that the game 'sucks' rather than the 'fair' experience I think it offers, which would make it hard for BioWare to engage in a full-voiced Andromeda follow-up, but I do think Andromeda will be referenced in whatever we get.
