I'm actually quite fond of Marquette for his minor role, I think I just have a soft spot for Thedas' Scholars though.

Hanako, throughout the threads on these comics, something always puzzled me on your reasoning for Vaea never killing. If it's the Slippery Slope argument, there are numerous characters in Dragon Age who can still judge on a case by case basis. Merrill for example, has mowed down countless bandits, cultists, slavers and the like in self defense, yet still prefers offering mercy. For all her issues, Daisy never displayed major trauma from killing evil doers in of itself.

If it is
to maintain a baseline of law and order,
1)Fingers routinely indulges in criminal behaviour and

2) Most of her targets have enough connections to avoid serious prosecution, or are apart of governments that approve of such activities. Hence Vaea's vigilantism.

If it is protect Vaea's "innocence", you effectively infantilize and stagnate the character; Hooray! Vaea saved the villain! Again and again and again. Been there, done that. Nothing learned or grown.

If Vaea does this because of how it could make *her* feel to take a life, it comes off as less moral and more naive, self righteous, and selfish. "That guy went on to harm and kill many more innocents, but at least I don't have his blood on MY hands!"

If Vaea lived in the Marvel or DC universes, her tactics would fit those tones. But Thedas is a darker and more realistic setting, at least when it comes to logical outcomes of violence. Having Vaea or anyone else never suffer negative consequences from her no killing rule creates huge plot holes, damages the internal consistency of the setting, and makes her an overpowered Mary Sue.

Maybe Vaea believes in redemption, and these people cannot atone if they are dead. But on several occasions you have made it clear that past certain points, none of these types of characters deserve another chance. So if they can't be redeemed, what's the point?

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before but somehow we have gone from having Qunari with black eyes in DA2 like this:

Through having normal human eyes like Iron Bull, the Viddasala and other Qunari in DAI/Trespasser (also Sten in DAO) to this:

Qunari with almost totally white eyes.

Yeah it seems almost impossible that they kill off Tessa after two pics.

Today’s comic-related tweet, in which Marius discusses his possible fate if he fights Nenealeus:

You only say that because you want Calpernia to romance and fear he’ll take her from you.

I thought in the last episode he said he still had the idol and that Nenealeus had promised that he could study it. So if the idol did ultimately turn up in Nevarra, someone had to take it there. However, I'm wondering if that could be Tractus, who acquired it whilst the rest of them were otherwise engaged.

In the Mortalitasi's tale, she says that a Tevinter mage came to them for help from House Danarius. She says the mage claimed their master had met an unfortunate end, which would fit with the comic plot, so it could be just one of the random mages that were present at the castle who made their getaway with the idol during the confusion. Still, we know that Tractus did somehow manage to escape the Qunari and might well have risked returning to the castle in the hope of recovering the idol. Either way it doesn't matter as he will die in the end in the jaws of the Dread Wolf but it would explain how the mage in the story knew what the idol was capable of, particularly with regard to creating a red lyrium blade.
