So to update you all on the issue I mentioned a while back about my PC not updating with Windows Update....I tried to run SFC and update the Windows Update Installer through cmd prompt. Also changing the WU.bat file and replacing the corrupted files....and nothing worked.
So then I downloaded a Media Creation Tool from Microsoft and re-installed Windows that way, pushing the most recent Cumulative Update and other fixes such as .Net Framework 4.8 etc. That worked with complete success and my PC is now operating perfectly normally.

That's a good price. Prices have been going up over here. Wow, that sucks. The prices for the Ryzen CPUs have been coming down in the US. The 5900X is currently going for only $519 on Newegg. Even the GPUs are getting cheaper on the second hand market. You can now get an RTX 3070 for about $1000 on eBay.

I'm not too concerned; my rig is up and running. The prices for the Ryzen CPUs have been coming down in the US. Here they have and they haven't: the 5800X and the 5900X are cheaper, but for instance my 5600X+MSI X570 Combo costs now over $100 more. Even the GPUs are getting cheaper Ever so slightly, yes.

While I am most intrigued by the Z690 chipset and motherboards with DDR5 and frequencies reportedly up to 6500Mhz, PCIE 5.0 for GPUs and a whole host of other cool features...I am curious to know how that all will translate to real-world Gaming performance and Content Creation.
I am waiting with bated breath to see what the CPUs will look like. We know already from various reports that the 12900K will feature a total of 16 Cores divided into two groups of eight: 8 Cores for Performance and 8 Cores for Efficiency. Additionally the Thread count is not doubled across the die as we are accustomed to seeing, for example 10 Cores and 20 Threads etc. On these new chips the P Cores seem to be hyperthreaded with 16 Threads and the E-Cores are single-threaded with 8 for a told count of 24 Threads. 16 Cores and 24 Threads in total.
I have also heard that the manufacturing process is given a new name, something akin to Intel7 which might make us think they are using a 7nm process (to catch up to AMD) But, I have read that it is simply a refresh of their 10nm process, which has already invited *groans* from various publishers.
And then there is the price point. What will this be? The Motherboards are already projected to be about 750.00 CAD for the higher end models like the HERO or the Aorus Master....But will Intel follow suit with equally high cost?
And what will the real world difference in all of this be in comparison to the 10900K or 11 series? And how will the release of Windows 10 21H3....I mean Windows 11 play out?

I just want to add that the best thing about cold weather for me is near silent gaming experience. The PC is whispering quiet even when I play games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Far Cry 6.
Now I just need to upgrade my 4TB WD Black HDDs to 4TB SSDs to make it even quieter.

Gamers Nexus gave a detailed blow by blow of this:
I will still say I am not a fan of this Performance vs efficiency cores though... Hopefully I will be proven wrong... its just something in the design that I find it troubling. Maybe its the design layout it just looks inefficient:[ Can someone tell me what I see that is so inefficient?

Though instead of paring all the P cores and all the E cores on the die separately... I would have pared the E's half way in between the P cores and put all the GPU info together: Probably a worse layout than the default. I am not a chip designer.
Just looks more efficient to me.
I am wrong right?

Well my audio budget got clamped due to the 5900x... So I have developed another idea for getting hopefully 7.1 Surround Sound...
Get a HDMI cable and pipe audio through the graphics card to a
Monoprice BlackbirdTM 4K Series 7.1 HDMI Audio Extractor: For front left and right... Logitech Z623:
I then will combine THREE of these for center, side and rear sound... Creative Pebble 2.0:
For all the power USB: It will be weird but its actually cheaper than the Z506 or Z906 at current value.

knowledgeable on circuitry Knowledgeable about electronics in general, but not about CPU design, that's a whole new ballgame. I took a course on CPUs, but that was just the 101 on assembly language. As it happens, I know someone who designs processors for integrated systems. Not keen on asking him about it though, because it's his favourite subject and he won't shut up about it. Yeah, he's a genius, and geniuses can be socially awkward. Yet alas none of them are here on this forum. I try to be, but RL gets often in the way.

Then I will order... though I have come to realize something... I am going to have more like 12.1 since all those speakers are two not one... But I will take it over just two speakers that can't truly handle 444Hz.

Since my wife is getting my old rig, I dismantled her old one, and found this: That's my old GTX460. Had forgotten about the fan mod; that's two Papst 80mm case fans attached. MSI, please take notes, that's a proper Twin Frozer!
