he will go on for hours right? That's about the size of it. No problem. Sorry I can't be of more use. No problem.
I asked someone about it. They hopefully will get back to me tomorrow.

Since my wife is getting my old rig, I dismantled her old one, and found this: That's my old GTX460. Had forgotten about the fan mod; that's two Papst 80mm case fans attached. MSI, please take notes, that's a proper Twin Frozer!

That being said -this is only 80mm fans.
You should see this done on a bigger card with 2 120mm fans:
Though I much rather use 4500RPM Delta 60mm fans on this type of card... But make sure I plug them into a fan RPM controller...
I don't want to be near those at full tilt!
Three lowered temps by 14*C over the defaults fans of MSI 1050 TI 4GB LP card.

That fan set-up rivals a jet engine! It only looks like it can take off. Those are Papst NGL series fans, probably 8212NGL or something similar. Very low noise and low RMP, but they have decent output. Much quieter and more powerful than the original ones for sure. And they didn't fail, like the originals.

Delta makes some good fans, namely the bigger industrial ones. But for small scale 12V systems I always choose Papst fans. They only make industrial spec stuff; check them out: ebm-PapstMy local store used to carry them (they were quite popular in PC builds say, ten years ago), but not anymore. There are dropshippers though, if you wan't to check prices: Farnell

Well my audio budget got clamped due to the 5900x... So I have developed another idea for getting hopefully 7.1 Surround Sound... I have revised my idea since this combo has the ability for HDMI through GPU: Monoprice BlackbirdTM 4K Series 7.1 HDMI Audio Extractor: With:
Rockville HTS56 1000w 5.1 Channel Home Theater System/Bluetooth/USB+8" Subwoofer
$Sits below $250... If I could get the Z906 for less than $600 though -that would be my first choice...

Rockville HTS56 1000w 5.1 Channel Home Theater System/Bluetooth/USB+8" Subwoofer By now you should know that, I try to be on the level with you guys. So no BS or PC, right? This system gives me terrible flashbacks from the '90's. Like seriously, the nineties called and said they want their setup back, pronto. I know you are Atemporal, but that just breaks the space-time continuum. I may not be an audio guy, but I am an old audiophile. That 1000W claim was old when I was young. I mean sure, there are 1000W amps, but they cost serious money, like this: M-900u Power amp That's well over $10k, and I would argue that even the M-900u is just a 300W High End amp. Maybe take a look at this instead: Klipsch Reference Theater Pack 5.1 It's only $100 more and it won't hurt your eyes so much. Less plastic and it might actually sound good.

Maybe take a look at this instead: Klipsch Reference Theater Pack 5.1 It's only $100 more and it won't hurt your eyes so much. Less plastic and it might actually sound good. Well there are two things about Klipsch that make me hesitant: 1. Seems for the last 3 or 4 years their quality has begun to slip -more failures. 2. That model has no 5.1 connection.
I know the power being 1000W is a gimmick -don't really care for a lot of power
Also this is the supposed power: 1000-Watts Peak Power 500-Watts Program Power 250-Watts Continuous RMS Power
So I would guess its actually 250 Watts.
An upgrade in any convention over the 75/150Watt Z506 that is dying -down to two left side and sub-woofer.
Though this one has a 5.1 output connection and HDMI input so could drop the extractor: Though it is supposedly only 115W peak.

their quality has begun to slip -more failures. That's a bummer. They used to make quality stuff. That model has no 5.1 connection. So you need an analogue 5.1 connection, either 3.5mm jacks or RCA connectors? Sorry, can't help you there. Have you thought about Polk Audio or Cambridge Audio? More expensive, I know, but they have entry level speakers too.
edit: Just realized you need an amp too. That makes it even more interesting.

I don't really care for 3.5mm -though it is ok. However I would prefer RCA -I am not trying to be obstinate... let me explain:
We got people around here that have young kids.
Kids who like to yank cables if you know what I mean -even when told not to.
We lost a $3500 Sound system years ago that got ruined due to this.
Either of these setups have cables that get pulled -easy enough put back in without irreparable damage to speaker or cable. This route is safer.

Kipslich was my first point but was warned off them by some around here.
Polk Audio always looks good -though so far I don't see any 5.1 for them. Also I can't find 5.1 speakers for Cambridge Audio as a whole... Probably could get 5 plus a center but that would break the bank and me -unless I could save another $1400 -3070ti for that.
So I need an Amp if I use either of those to bump the volume? They seem loud enough in the testing I have found.

So going from GPU to HDMI to that Sub-Woofer in the second setup and then going RCA to the speakers is analogue? Nah, that's digital. I got it mixed up. Kids who like to yank cables All too familiar, sadly. My son managed to destroy my Pioneer A-series amplifier. It was old, granted, but it had a mosfet with a large ring amplifier; they don't make them like they used to. Safer is better. Lasts longer too. Polk Audio always looks good -though so far I don't see any 5.1 for them. Also I can't find 5.1 speakers for Cambridge Audio as a whole... Yeah, you have to build your own setup with those brands, unfortunately. So I need an Amp if I use either of those to bump the volume? No, that would be my mistake too. I was thinking about an AV receiver. Back in the olden days your setup was like this: source -> surround decoder -> analogue 5.1 amplifier -> speakers

I've always like BOSE, Boston Accoustics, B & W, Klipsch, Wharfdale and old school companies like Patterson and McIntosh or Martin Logan.
As for Amplifiers, I like Yamaha, Denon, Marantz and of course premium companies like Nakamichi which is only in Japan.
Though I have heard that Marantz has severely dropped in quality over the years.

I've onl;y recently come across those brands (Moukey, Rockville), but have no knowledge of them. The only 5.1 Amplifer that I know of that has HDMI In/Out supporting 5.1 channels is the Yamaha V385. Here in Canada at stores like The Brick (whole sale discount stores) it sells for 349.99 CAD. Denon is a really good brand but they are quite expensive here in Canada and most recently only support a minimum of 7.1 (up to 13.2) channels and the most top notch formats and inputs/outputs. My suggestion is try Yamaha.

Do you happen to know any 5.1 systems that have HDMI input like the second one above? I think I finally got this. So your setup is going to be like this: GPU -> HDMI -> Audio Extractor -> HDMI -> 5.1 system -> speakers And your budget for the 5.1 and speakers is under $300. And therein lies the problem, because there isn't much to be had for that price. Are you sure you don't want to use an external sound card with an optical input? BTW, I checked the Logitech Z906 and it doesn't have HDMI either, just optical and coaxial inputs.

All good brands (although I don't like Bose much ). Would add Sony, Technics, NAD, Quad, Pro-Ject, Naim and Rotel.

5.1 systems that have HDMI input I tried to search systems like this, and there doesn't seem to be any. Apprently you are not supposed to use HDMI for 5.1 surround sound? Some systems do have HDMI throughput, but they don't support 5.1 audio, ie. you get video and stereo sound only. I have a hunch that for copyright reasons you are supposed to use the digital out and run it straight to the 5.1 decoder.

Yes, I agree....I would also have added NAD, Technics (a Div. of Panasonic which I've awlays liked on many levels), Quad and Naim if I didn't have to type-and-dash so those were the only companies I could immediately think of. Adding to this list now, I can also think of Paradigm, Cambridge, Canton, Wharfdale, Monitor Audio, Cerwin Vega, Rotel, Velodyne, OKEF, Roksan, Rockford Fosgate, Polk Audio, Furman, Sunfire, Harmon Kardon, JBL, and TEAC. If we are adding Car Audio, I also like Mark Levinson, Bang & Olufssen and Blaupunkt. The list goes on.... This is a privately-owned, family run Home Theater and Electronics store whose owners/founders my dad has known since 1980. This is the store where I bought my first stereo system with my own money in 1998. A 75-watt Amplifier and a seperate 5-disk CD Changer (both from TEAC), and 6" bookshelf speakers from Design Accoustics. The CD player was 349.99 I got for 200, the Amp was 399.99 I got it for 150.00 and the speakers were 300 for the pair, I got them for 100.00. I had the CD player for five years, and every year I had to replace the chip that drove the tray....it was 75.00 dollars CAD to replace it every year, so I figured it would be less expensive in the long run to buy a new CD player. Then in 2003, my dad bought me the PD600 from Technics. It was a 500 dollar unit at the time. It's now 10x less than that on ebay. I still have the TEAC amp and DA Speakers. tabangi.com/EN/products/

We used to get a lot of Panasonic stuff back in 2012 and earlier. Lately though their stuff seems to fail us quite a bit.
Are they really still worth the money if you want to get something that is going to last five years at least? Thank you though more companies to look at.
