This has seen a 10* C REDUCTION That's pretty impressive, well done! Still pricey, but at least it's fast.

Not sure where else to post it ... other than reanimate some long dead thread, but ...
Updated C++ Redistributable for 2022 last night (both 86 and 64 series), this morning, was getting pixelation and had a driver crash, HDR was cycling ... kind of a mess ...
Nvidia came out with a bit of an out-of-cycle update this morning (just as I was getting ready to roll back the C++ updates), after install, the issues went away ...
Suspect there was a conflict with the new C++ update and GPU drivers, Nvidia scrambled to correct.
In the release notes, no mention of this, but the problem appears to be solved ...
A bit irritated that Nvidia didn't mention it ... seems like a pretty significant bug/compatibility fix.

It could be that the runtimes and the GPU driver were trying to share a particular file and caused the crash. It has happened in the past with Nvidia but in my experience more common on AMD GPU Drivers -still... What do I know? I manually install GPU drivers. I see no use to use their fangled fancy dancy installers. Also in my personal opinion ALL drivers should never be kept current but at least a month behind the most recent update. Allows the business to work out bugs that may develop and is more stable than anything current.

Yeah ... like you say, there was a conflict.
Last month's GPU driver was stable with the previous 2022 C++ redistributable library.
C++ 2022 updates from Microsoft showed up last night.
If I didn't install today's driver update, then my only other option was rolling back the C++ updates.
The software state this morning was untenable.
Updating the GPU drivers this morning solved the problem and once again, the system is stable.
My guess is the 2022 C++ Redistributable (either the 64 or 86 ... but probably the 64) had issues with last month's Nvidia drivers. Which is why Nvidia dropped a release quite early compared to their normal behavior.
My intent here was just to get the word out ... that updating to the latest drivers solves the problem.

C++ redistributable library C++ Reds have akways been a mess. I'm currently running 12 different versions, just because I have a lot of installed games. It's rediculous.

Sorry to hurt your brain but enjoy it! Brain hurt, no. Enjoyable, yes. It's crazy, but it is what it is. runtimes I install on every Windows install Why do you do that, though? I just add more when needed; usually they are included in the game installer.

I just add more when needed; usually they are included in the game installer.Despite common belief games don't always install the correct VC++ redistributals. Also VC++ of different years don't install all the VC++ of that year. For instance Batman Arkham Asylum actually installs the wrong VC++ 2008 redistributal. And doesn't run correctly on Win 10 64 bit unless you install them all -even the ones the game doesn't install. Though if you get one year installed out of order it can be a pain deleting all of them just so the registry will register them all installed. If you look there are different version for each year in my installs. I install all of these because like Nvidia does for their new drivers -they remove support for older games.

games don't always install the correct VC++ redistributals. Ain't that the truth. Or they are installed in the wrong order. Or they are missing some file. actually installs the wrong VC++ I seem to remember having this issue too, but it wasn't Arkham Asylum. Don't remember the game anymore, but yeah, the same mess.

bmwcrazy Energizer Bunny 211 @grinch HeimdallWell its here: Got it on sale from Newegg for $799 but the shipping/tax brought it up to the $842 and cents. Now that just leaves the Subwoofer, Hard drives, desk and some more fans -I like those icebergs... They move on their own if set to full power and not held down.

However the desk is trouble... the current one in use is an actual wooden desk -not the one pictured (its about 40 years older): Apparently it has rotted over the years from a combination of flooding and termites. I was hoping with this new build I would be able to get the majority of the desk off the ground... Problem is I can't find a single "computer desk" that has actual legs that could actually support a person. I may need to access celling outlets so being able to support a persons' weight is a must. Since the above can I guess I will be force to get another like the above... Finding one in the range of $250-350 though isn't easy.

Is there any free CADD software out there that would let me build my room layout in 3D and take a walk through it. Got to see if I may need another idea for desk layout -its getting really annoying to figure out.

Try Sketchup? really annoying to figure out Or go Old School and use pen and paper? I kid you not, it's an ok method, if you're not drawing anything elaborate.

However need to have a 3D walkthrough just so I can make sure I get no blind spots. You know if you put something 1 ft away and can't see it versus if you put it 10 ft away and can see it. That said are there any others that don't require an account... I remember one from the early 2000's that was used in my CADD classes but can't remember its name for the life of me.

You seem to have a knack of finding manufacturers I've never even heard of. Also: What about me? Both Teamgroup and Mushkin have been around for a while. Mushkin used to be one of the top memory manufacturers and a favorite of PC enthusiasts back in the Pentium 3/4 days. For some odd reason, they decided to stop making desktop products and instead focusing on commercial/business products instead. They are slowly making a comeback with their new RAM and SSD lineup though. That said, those kits require 1.4v to run and that seems a bit high. Both my Crucial Ballistix 3600 and G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600 kit require 1.35v. Other than that, I guess just pay attention to the height of the RAM because the NH-D15 takes up so much room.

Maybe the ram is pumping so much voltage to allow it to reach CL 16? If so I better go back to my Teamgroup choice... I can get it for a fraction of the price. That said I can always move the fan on the D15 up a bit -so maybe LP ram isn't such a thing? Though I don't think Trident Z would fit in any context. What drew me to these was not the "supposed" airplane grade aluminum -I dismiss that claim. It was the wedge shaped fins on top -it definitely will dissipate heat better than most others I want to believe.

Maybe the ram is pumping so much voltage to allow it to reach CL 16? If so I better go back to my Teamgroup choice... Both G.Skill and Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3600 kits that I use are CL16 as well. The Crucial kit has much tighter timings as well (16-18-18-38). It's too bad that Crucial has discontinued all Ballistix lineup, and none of these would work well with the NH-D15 anyway. You can always raise the first fan on the NH-D15 to make the RAM fit underneath, but you also need to make sure your PC case has enough room and that fan isn't sticking out too much. Otherwise you won't be able to close the side panel.
