For those with Ryzen, do you use PBO? Yes, I've tinkered with it. I posted some of the results in this same thread: linkI only used it for finding the good cores for overclocking. XMP profile was turned off My thinking: check that your sticks are XMP compatible -> run Memtest to make sure everything is ok -> inch towards XMP settings and run Memtest -> if everything works, use the XMP profile and run Memtest again. I read bmwcrazys's posts, so I know this wasn't your initial problem, more like in case you want to use XMP.

Thanks rewindbutton, I think the issue at that time was actually a broken Windows 10 update, that messed up a lot of people's systems and the system reverted to base profile at that time... this is all fuzzy, it was much closer to when I built the machine and that has been a bit now. The memory is up to snuff, bought it with 3600 in mind which you need XMP to achieve (Ryzen base is 3200 iirc). I should turn it on again and see about stability; I need to do some maintenance on the homelab anyways, a couple things need updating. Turning off Nvidia GFE did not completely cure my FPS issues on CP2077, but they are generally better. The issue is mostly with the crafting UI and the map, the game itself maintains stable frames most of the time and only bogs slightly in congested city areas with lots of pedestrian and automotive traffic. I am going to tinker some with the settings, but I agree with bmwcrazy that the game looks gorgeous with all the goodies turned on. I did notice on a mission to rescue a certain nomad leader, that when I was talking with nomads leaning on the car, the lighting was freaking out because of the tent maybe. Couldn't look in certain directions without bad flickering of lighting, which I assume was something clipping the light source (bad uv mesh on the tent we were standing under or somesuch). Anyways, happy computing ya bunch of nerds! (Puts on Skolnick pocket protector, fixes tape on glasses, smiles toothily and moves along)

Well since I didn't want the X570 with its fan and all sent that back and got this: And since I will not be needing the M.2 slots but may need even more USB I think this will be a nice offset: Also note my chosen ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB & 32GB will finally be here by Saturday -IF shipping is adequate to not be laggy:

Even with an AMD platform, I think you've chosen a good board and good manufacturer for the motherboard, and the RAM...well, GSKILL is the best-selling RAM at CanadaComputers- known for both price to performance ratio, and stability/lack of product returns in comparison to other companies like Kingston or Mushkin. I've been buying GSKILL since 2013 and only ever had 1 chip fail, but I got it replaced within 2 days completely free of charge...so I call that a win. I think you will be very happy with your system. I hope it serves you well and lasts a long time.

Well since I didn't want the X570 with its fan and all sent that back and got this: I thought you bought your motherboard nearly a year ago and it was long past the return period. How did you return it and get your money back? Quite simple -I didn't get my money back. Though remember I did get the X570 had a rant about the fan -sent it back -didn't mention the drama to get it returned... I would go into the details but don't want to talk about the dirty evil person that I had to deal with. Then I got the B550 and had a rant about the BIOS but kept it for back up. Tried to order the X570S back in March but " got lost in transit"... does that happen often with Amazon? Now I ordered the X570S version AGAIN! -Newegg this time and hopefully third time being the charm... Otherwise may have rename myself to Rantking.

Well, most retailers only accept returns within 30 days of purchase. You should know this before you buy anything. That's why I keep saying you need to finish that PC as soon as possible. If you find out anything is faulty within 30 days, you can simply return it and get your money back. I returned my original X570 Hero to Newegg without any issues because I only had it for three weeks. Anyway, I thought I had way overspent on my build but you're taking it to the next level.

Yeah I know. At least I didn't get this case -it has the same design I am going for... The cross-through airflow: $500 More dollars shot if I did... I making for a faction of that. So all in all it offset the motherboard goofyness.

Also, a crude but efficient way of making the graphics card cooler: That's just a piece of sheet metal, cut and bent, and a Papts fan attached to it.

That looks like an Athlon XP to me. You're sharp as ever: it does say socket 462, aka socket A on the MoBo. It is indeed 3000XP, and the 3600+ is still in storage, waiting to be dismantled.
edit: This is the file server though.
