The World Is Ending!!!!!! Well, I guess my next GPU will have to come from Gigabyte. As long as you don't have to RMA you should be fine. Gigabyte RMA service not great -at least according to multiple cases I have seen. That said ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY & Zotac are your best options. We can all agree COLORFUL iGame cards are hardly any better than founder's edition.

Gigabyte RMA service not great -at least according to multiple cases I have seen. That said ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY & Zotac are your best options. We can all agree COLORFUL iGame cards are hardly any better than founder's edition. Anything is better than ASUS. ASUS Customer Service is absolutely abhorent. Back in 2013 I had the Maximus VI Hero, a supposed top tier Board. Since the day I bought it, I had all kinds of BIOS issues and just general instability. Within less than a year I had 2 defective RAM slots, which I sent it for RMA and signed for Notification of Receipt. What should have taken 2 weeks, took 4 months because they sent it from Markham ON, Canada (not far from my home) all the way down to Mexico..... THEN they told me they lost it! (well not in so many words. Their exact words were "We didn't receive it (though I had an electronically signed document from Canada Post saying otherwise) but we don't know where it is" (translation: we lost it, but we don't want to tell you that.)....But some 4 months later, I get it back and the problem of defective RAM slots is still not fixed. 5 months later, the GPU slot becomes defective due to warping....and the same situation happens. A few years later I purchsed an Android based ASUS Tablet and within a year it stopped holding a charge. Sent it back....and the same thing happens, only this time not only is the battery issue not solved-- they returned it with a shattered screen, then blamed me for the shattered screen and told me they would charge me to fix it. I've also had three ASUS branded GPUs, none of which have lasted even a year.....and still the same horrible CS experience. All of these are reasons why I switched Gigabyte for Motherboards and since doing that in 2016 (with the Phoenix SLI) I haven't had ANY issues whatsoever. After all those horrible experiences, I swore I'd never buy another ASUS product. The last truly good quality ASUS Boards I owned were the P5E Deluxe Gaming and the successor, the P6T. Everything after that has been utter trash. I've heard mixed reviews for Gigabyte GPUs, though largely favourable....and Canada Computers has cautioned me to be weary of MSI (due to shoddy fans and really bad coil wine) so my only other choice is Gigabyte. Which I am okay with because it would be nice to brand match my Motherboard.

I have had pretty good experience with Asus though.
Just last year I had to file an RMA for an Asus ITX motherboard that had some weird cold boot issue. It was an intermittent problem that was rather difficult to diagnose, but they gave me a shipping label and sent me a replacement almost immediately without asking any questions. I guess I got lucky.
On the other hand, I had to go back and forth with an EVGA service rep for more than a week to troubleshoot a video card that was obviously very broken. This was when they still offered the lifetime warranty. Eventually they sent me a replacement but it definitely took way longer than necessary.

Guess ASUS is a crapshoot either you get good luck or horrible still... They have definately faltered in later years in terms of quality. That said I wonder which AIB's will follow EVGA and leave? Hopefully not many or Nvidia will have a monopoly on their cards... wait they already do.

To put someone into two states of being simultaneously? Obvioulsy would lead to a confused state of being.... The good thing is that state would help the cleaning process... It would give you just enough time to put the Server in their hands and begin the cleaning process... With an air titan: i.makeagif.com/media/7-06-2015/3s2n8r.gifI would have no problem being in two states... so I could walk away My natural existence is: i.gifer.com/7UkP.gif

I'm still running 21H1....Even after all these months I still haven't gotten the Service Pack (Cumulative) Update for 21H2. But I am thankful that my PC is stable.
Every now and then when Logitech releases new firmware for the GHub (which drives my G 502 HERO Gaming Mouse), I get that dreaded *screen flashing* issue that I had through February to July of 2021 and went months with no help in sight. (You guys remember that, right?) Every application I opened, every screen...would open and *instantly flash* closed (or revert back to whatever was previously showing on the screen). It got so bad that it rendered my PC totally useless. Then out of the blue, I happened to connect with Logitech again and the guy I spoke to immediately said "I know exactly what the problem is. It's rare, but I have sen this before. This is caused by G Hub not playing nicely with a recent Windows Update. This happens most often when GHub does an automatic download/install of new firmware. We're nto sure why...But it goes funky like this. The solution is to Uninstall EVERYTHING Logitech, clean your Registry.....Rebooot, then do a fresh manual download and install from our website...then reboot again."
I did that, and *Poof* weird flashy PC-crippling issues totally vanished. So now....whenever I see that behaviour creep up, that is the workaround that I do and it solves the problem every time.
Other than that, My PC has been problem-free and still running great.

Looks like Intel's 13th-gen CPUs will be faster too. Still, I can't wait for the 3D V-Cache version of the Ryzen 7000.

Call me skeptical but I have serious doubts about the longevity. Just as 4000 series with Crap-vidia is a fire waiting to happen -be it the card, melting cables, poping PSU or the system. I have never been a fan of any one item pulling 300+ Watts -no matter if its by design.

I bet they are using some GPU shenanigans. Remember AMD GPUs are running tad hot at 110C. Did you notice that in the video the L3 was runnning at about 50C? I'm sceptical too, but we'll have wait to and see. Power consumption was over the top, IMHO.

After watching De-bauer De-Lidded the 7950X CPU the IHS is ALOT thicker than AM4. So maybe its the IHS that is hitting the 95* C? So the IHS has become a true Internal Heat Sink? Would explain the no degradation statement if true. The CPU isn't cooking just the IHS -though... Wouldn't that mean the IHS would degrade? Still Tech City fixed the 95*C -in the 7950X:

Yep its madness but I will overcome it -maybe do what gives me better performance in the past... Maybe I will underclock and/or undervolt it. But I seldom do modern games... nothing of real interest to me since before the pandemic. The most recent game I play a lot is The Crew 2, Fallout 76... maybe Watchdogs 1/2 -modded they are quite good. Still you know how old they are... I am mainly getting ready for 2023 since that is when the games I like are supposedly going to be released. Again remember for me its about the story first gameplay and mechanics second and last is graphics.

So it depends on the performance. If it is actually twice as fast as the 3090, I might upgrade to a 4090 or 4090 Ti later along with an ATX 3.0 PSU. As powerful as the 3090 is, I still wish for more ray-tracing performance.

So maybe its the IHS that is hitting the 95* C? So the IHS has become a true Internal Heat Sink? Would explain the no degradation statement if true. The CPU isn't cooking just the IHS -though... Wouldn't that mean the IHS would degrade? The IHS is just like any heatsink. Unless you're actually adding more heat to the heatsink like using a blowtorch on it, the temperatures measured on it should always be lower than the silicon die itself. Still, the thick IHS on the 7000-series Ryzen doesn't seem to be doing a good job. DerBauer managed to lower the temperature by as much as 20C by removing the IHS. There's definitely a lot of room for improvement. I won't be surprised if AMD come out with a new IHS design for the AM5 platform later. Delidding a CPU is quite a risky job and it definitely voids your warranty. So as for now, just do what Tech YES City and Optimum Tech do. Undervolt your 7000-series Ryzen CPU with the Curve Optimizer and manually set a power limit to lower the temperature.

They had better because this design launch... Its been abysmal. Some just don't seem to want a CPU that is constantly maxed to the max temp/ wattage and/or are leary of it. Right out of the box. Yep. If I go 7000 -eventually that is what I will do the UV and UC or... Maybe UV and OC but I digress... Like Jay I would probably rather do it at the BIOS level first. RIP DerBauer's 7700X... even the best have an off day.

The CPU isn't cooking just the IHS No, it's the cores, that are running at 75-95C. expected to pull upwards of 500-600 watts while having a TDP of 450 watts But how are they going to do that though? You are supposed to be able to pull 600W from a single cable (they say), but that would require a heavy duty 50A cable. I somehow doubt that's how they are planning to do it.

The CPU isn't cooking just the IHS No, it's the cores, that are running at 75-95C.expected to pull upwards of 500-600 watts while having a TDP of 450 watts But how are they going to do that though? You are supposed to be able to pull 600W from a single cable (they say), but that would require a heavy duty 50A cable. I somehow doubt that's how they are planning to do it. Still it seems shady but hey at least can cook eggs on it.Not a single cable:

I somehow doubt that's how they are planning to do it. I have no idea. There are already reports of melting 12VHPWR cables during testing. The cable is supposed to be able to handle 600 watts/55 amps of sustained load. It's unlikely that the RTX 4090 or even the 4090 Ti will draw that much power continuously, but the melting cables is still a very serious finding. Regardless, you'll definitely want to use an ATX 3.0 spec PSU for PCIe Gen 5 GPU. The extra four pins on the 12VHPWR connector is suppose to carry low-fi sideband signals that allow your PSU to communicate with your GPU, and adjust the power limit accordingly.

Makes the likely hood of a break more likely. Which could require cable replacement. I am getting SATA connectors with latches flashbacks. Those things were notorious for breaking -at least for me.

The cable is supposed to be able to handle 600 watts/55 amps of sustained load. In the picture, there's that one thicker cable, probably the one that's melting. the melting cables is still a very serious finding. Well this. rant Is this what's trying to pass as a standard these days? That's not a prototype, that's a proof of concept. Any rookie could tell you that's not going to work, which is why I suspect it was desinged by a student. And by a student who has never set foot in a lab, and tested stuff in real life. That connector is a joke! I did the math, and for 12V/60A you are going to need to use copper cable that is 10mm/400thou in diameter. Any connector has to be at least that strong, stronger, if you are using aluminium. WTAF! /rant I'm not just little concerned. Can you tell?
