Bigger or smaller than the AMD and INTEL CPU's? They are integrated, so a lot smaller. Not future but work in progress present: Talk about having to flush that loop...

Personally though....the 280mm AIOs strike a beautiful balance. I agree. And when it comes to cooling, they are almost the same.

Just more trouble for Nvidia and their 4000 series:
Card still works apparently but i would consider it dangerous to still use... ... Actually Jay hit it on the head:
INTEL deceived us all. They been planning a hostile take over of GPU manufacturing. Yes that last sentence is sarcastic but could be true.

I'm sure you've already seen this, but here goes: Nvidia investigating reports of RTX 4090 power cables burning or meltingI like this part: "In early September, PCI-SIG — an industry consortium responsible for developing standards around peripheral component I/O data transfers — warned that some implementations of the 12VHPWR connector “have demonstrated thermal variance, which could result in safety issues under certain conditions.” " Sigh, who knew.

Can I laugh at Nvidia now? Melted connectors are most likely due to bad quality cables. I'll get an RTX 4090 and see how well CableMod's 12VHPWR cables work.

Can I laugh at Nvidia now? Melted connectors are most likely due to bad quality cables. I'll get an RTX 4090 and see how well CableMod's 12VHPWR cables work. Did you even read the link? The current 12VHPWR design splits the wattage coming from the four input cables on the two middle prongs ONLY into 75W each. The TWO wires on the ends take the full 150W load. The trouble comes from sideways bending -thus shunting damage to the 150 Watt load cables -thus damage and fire hazard: Just to note: That is 150W+75W+75W+75W+75W+150W -NOT Sound engineering. No set of cables that doesn't REPLACE the connection on the GPU will fix it. There is no excuse for this but poor engineering or someone was just stupid enough not think this oversight would go un-noticed. True engineering would have made it an 8x2 pin connection not a 6x2x4. Which would have given even power distribution. Though with it as it is now... the only fix is Cut it down to THREE input cables instead of four and split it to 200 Watts per cable -that will split to 100 Watts per prong... BUT THAT IS A FIRE HAZARD INITSELF! This is just yet another 4000 series Faux Pas. Poor engineering is poor engineering. My chuckle is rising to a cackle.

I did, and that was Igor's lab's findings. Bad quality cables. Nvidia had much better 12VHPWR cables for the Founders Edition 30-series cards. The 3090 Ti drew more power than the RTX 4090 and they didn't any issues with their 12VHPWR cables. Remember I also bought a Founders Edition RTX 3090 and it never had any problems with the 12VHPWR adapter that it came with. Jayztwocent explains it better than I can. It's a shame that Nvidia decided to save a couple dollars and instead risk damaging $1700 GPUs.

It's a shame that Nvidia decided to save a couple dollars and instead risk damaging $1700 GPUs. Agreed. Nvidia should have kept the 6/8/12 pin plugs of now instead of this horrid design. Maybe ATX 3.0 will be good coming from ATX3.0 PSU's but that is a very bad design flaw. People will only need to get a 3.0 PSU if using Nvidia 4000 and since they are the only ones using it this time round. Being proprietary will make those PSU's expensive compared to others. A price many may not want to pay just for a GPU... a GPU that will be alone in its market. As stated previously AMD and INTEL will not be using it this time round. Also RDNA 3 is now said to rival 4000 series -even the 4090 and they will still be using the 6/8/12 pin connectors. I can't think of many laypersons who will shell out the extra cash for a proprietary PSU when a regular one will do and still get near the same performance. Of course there will be outliers -like yourself.

I'll be getting CableMod's 3x8-pin to 12VHPWR cable for my current Seasonic PSU. I'd love to get one from Seasonic as well, but I don't think they have it available for sale yet.

I'll be getting CableMod's 3x8-pin to 12VHPWR cable That's a wise choice, and I would recommend that everyone throws away their Nvidia (splitter)cables.

So.....the really weird *Flashy-thing* behaviour with my PC that occurred for months on end, I now know the root of the problem is Logitech's G-Hub software...whenever there is a new version that is downloaded and installed automatically, the behaviour pops up again because (directly from a logitech Rep) there is something funky about the Auto-Install that doesn't play nicely, especially if a Windows Update has recently been added. So I now know the solution is to completely uninstall the auto-dl'd version of G-Hub and then clean the Registry (both of which I used REVO Uninstaller Pro for), then reboot and install a fresh version manually and directly from the website. Fine. Problem solved, easy solution.
But man....it's just a pain in my fluffy white tail to have to do this every. damn. time.
As much as I like my G502 HERO Mouse for Gaming and even just general use.....I'm very tempted to put it away for now and switch to my EVGA X17, which is brand-new and not even out of the packaging yet. Never been touched, still sealed. But I have this nagging feeling of regret because the Hero Mouse itself is still great.
I am curious to know what the X17 Gaming Mouse is like, though.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I may be nitpicking here, but it's not the cables, it's the connectors: Yeah, I meant the bad quality construction of the adapter cables. Not the actual cables on the adapters. The design of the 12VHPWR connector itself is not the issue. We've been using Nvidia's 30-series 12VHPWR adapters for almost two years and not even the more power hungry 3090 Ti could melt them. I mean some people really bend those cables especially for their SFF builds. It's also interesting to note that GALAX managed to put over 1500 watts through a 12VHPWR adapter for the 4090 Founders Edition with a loose connection, and the 12VHPWR connector held up perfectly fine even when the cables on their testing equipment were starting to melt. It shows that as long as the cables stay intact and not sheared off from their flimsy connections due to the lousy construction, the adapter will continue to function without any problems. I hope we get to see which Nvidia AIB manufactures actually provide good adapters with their RTX 4090 cards. So far, we've got reports of people having issues with the ones that came with their Asus Tuf and MSI Suprim X.

I see both your points, but the difficulty with #1 is that I also use G-HUB for the 7.1 Headset I have, so I can't really block and delete it. If I didn't have other peripherals that used it, I might do that.....But for now I will use the G 502 Hero and when I truly have had enough of its shinanigans...then I will switch to the X17. After all there is no point in having it if I don't use it at least once to see what it is like. And I agree with your point about hardware vs software. Thanks for the input.

I still think it's a bad design, but yeah, that's true. My previous company used to be one of the suppliers for major OEMs like Apple and Dell. Like Foxconn, we made cables, connectors, and adapters exactly just like this. Ultimately, this is just another case of cost cutting gone too far. All those companies like AMD, Nvidia, Seasonic, Corsair, Asus, MSI, Dell, and Apple have the best engineers on the plant. However, they also have the best bean counters. To them, a penny saved is a penny earned. My immediate reaction was the bad quality adapter cables, and I turned out to be right.

And I agree with your point about hardware vs software. Even Razer is infamously known for their crappy software. EVGA mice also "feel" quite cheap according to the owners. I guess the hunt for the perfect gaming mouse continues.

Thoughts? Opinions? Rule #1 when dealing with Logitech: Beware the unmitigated unmaintained software zoo. For mice with software it is another matter where simplicity is often forsaken. I see this in the case of Razer and Logicrap mice -software especially. Too many bells and whistles... How does this software look to you: No contest to me the winner here. The software is supreme to anything I have tried from Logicrap and Razer. Is the mouse better? Eh. That is debatable. But 7200 DPI for sniping is a nice offset. In software simplicity vs complexity -I will take simplicity every time.

I'd say "I hear you" but I'm not actually hearing anything today, and rarely do in the best of times. Logitech G433 Headset ? No, the 2019 G935. They came out almost at the same time as ANTHEM, which I specfically bought them for because of the need to communicate with squad members during missions and tell everyone what you're doing so that mission goals are completed and there would be no wasted time or confusion around who was doing what when. I haven't used my 935s since I bought the 2.1 THX-Certified Z623s late last year...But I still keep the G-Hub software on my PC just in case I want to, because the 935s use DTS X v 2.0 for spatial surround which even with my fluctuating hearing loss, to me, sounds pretty cool. They were quite expensive when I first got them....about 200.00 CAD after tax, but I also got 100 dollars off the purchase price because I pre-ordered online, so at 200.00 the final price wasn't that bad. I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a surround sound gaming set.
