So it's basically just a graphical update. I called it and I told you so. They mention a few changes for the first game. All in all, though, it’s a remaster. I don’t see why we should’ve expected a major overhaul of the games, especially considering the blog post on N7 day. In regards of legacy bugs, this tweet might be interesting, although I’d prefer more direct confirmations of what’s fixed.

Anyone feel kind of like FemShep was a bit forced in a lot of those scenes? Just me? OK It was about as forced as manshep in every single other preview trailer. And at least this one had a reason, being to show the feature of her default appearance being unified across the trilogy now. |

Basically the Shinobis and other insiders have enough to go see I told you there were changes past graphics, but a small enough amount people can eye roll it and say sure Shinobi sarcastically.

So... no Kaidan romance in ME1 for M!Shep? According to a journalist who was allowed to ask questions, none of those. Good to know. This will save me 60 Euros. As I own all of the DLC already anyway and play om PC so a small graphic upgrade is not worth the price.

Like you've never seen it before, huh? I could be wrong but that trailer didn't show a lot of changes besides maybe some textures, which we've had for a while now (modded, of course). Wish they'd shown more of ME1 Citadel and NPCs as that game has the greatest remaster potential.

I absolutely love the changes to Virmire in ME1. The atmospheric effects really make it feel like a tropical planet. I also like the changes to the other planets that they showed. Given the age of the game a lot of ME1 feels sterile and a little bland now. These changes really help bring the environment to life more.

According to a journalist who was allowed to ask questions, none of those. Definitely disappointing, although I wasn't expecting it either. I was a bit annoyed at the revisionist history on the N7 Day stream when everyone praised BioWare for LGBT content in MET and I'm like...you mean ME3? Now with recent news ME2 also had dropped same-sex romances. I thought maybe they'd feel compelled to add in that content with an opportunity to do so and with the audio apparently already existing (at least for M/M Kaidan as far as I understand). Although annoying for us LGBT people today, we kind have to remind ourselves that in the US( the biggest gaming market in the West) majority of people still objected to gay marriage at the beginning of 2010, when ME2 was released. Hell, to set US as example again, then VP Biden made an oupsy and had endorsed gay marriage, before then POTUS Obama did himself. And that happened 2 months after ME3 was released.
The whole switch in opposition to support of LGBT rights happened very recently and very quickly. Which gave false perception BioWare was weak in support of LGBT content for video games, because accelerated change in public perception started just as final touches were put in ME3.
And that's just the US, although Canada had more progressive views on LGBT, EU itself was more backwards, let alone non-EU European countries or... well rest of the world.
Now it is disappointing BW wouldn't expand on that with at least Kaidan in remaster, we should still be aware attempt was made for it's time. Clearly BioWare went with far more and more open with adding LGBT content with Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda, as at least Western market is favorable with LGBT rights.

I think that for making the gameplay of ME1 similar to the other two, it'd have requited a lot more work, and resources, then they had at their disposal. And likely a massive reword on maps and enemy AI. It'd also have caused a domino effect in the gameplay of the other two games, because if they'd have gone forwards that path, it'd have made sense, at least for me, to unify completely the gameplay across the three games.
