Now I've got a kinda dumb question... Is this restricted solely to the game portrayal of chracters? Asking for a character who is pretty much OOC in-game as opposed to previous appearances in secondary media.

It's a perfectly good question. 
When I'm creating the list, in my mind I have the visual images of the game characters because you cannot make up someone you don't know about. I'm familiar with DA universe through the games.

How top though? I figured in Ferelden, the higher level authority would be considered Knight Commander of Denerim. No. the Knight Commanders were attached to the relevant Circles in their respect regions. There are Templars attached to the Chantries, giving them a base from which to track down apostates but the majority are in the Circles. Greagoir had to send to Denerim to get permission of the Grand Cleric there (or her nearest equivalent) for the annulment of the Circle, not a superior Templar because he was the highest ranking Templar in Ferelden. Actually it is interesting to note in DA2 that Alistair says that whilst he couldn't totally free the mages from Chantry control he has given sanctuary to mages who fled to Ferelden from the Freemarches and Meredith chews him out over it. Presumably the reason she was taking issue with Alistair is that the Knight Commander in Ferelden obviously chose not to and refused her demands that he should; that sounds like Greagoir was still in post to me. Obviously the events of the White Spire took place after this. And Greagoir's brain doesn't get muddled. I'm going to stick with this official plot. I prefer this version too. I like Greagoir.

Yes, particularly when the person running the poll is also voting in it and is known to favour Cullen. If I hadn't insisted on Cassandra being thrown into the mix, it wouldn't even have been as close as it was.  Anyway, roll on the sexiest darkspawn.  what? No sexy mages? Arl Teagan (DAO!!! I don't like him in DAI(that isn't him for me). Nope sorry worry. The sexy DAO Teagan does not qualify age wise. This poll targets the sexiest 50+ character. I tend to differentiate DAO and DAI Teagan via calling the younger version Bann. However you can still vote him in lieu of.
Actually it is interesting to note in DA2 that Alistair says that whilst he couldn't totally free the mages from Chantry control he has given sanctuary to mages who fled to Ferelden from the Freemarches and Meredith chews him out over it.
She certainly feels like she has a lot of power to talk down to the King like that. However, many Templars have shown disregard for the King's authority by stating the Chantry will feel otherwise.
I'm sure Meredith is even more pissy if our Warden happened to be a mage and requested freedom for mages as her end game boon. I remember in DAI, Anora made a comment that Ferelden is free of mage discrimination when she showed up for Redcliffee upheaval.
I prefer this version too. I like Greagoir.
He certainly deserves better.

(Are there two Group K or am I just blind?) It's a typo. It should have been KLM, not KKL. There were a lot of characters in this group. I'm just glad I haven't listed some of them twice. You can find different features attractive, not just physical looks.  |

For me, Cailan's sellout was more on the family level, something for Loghain or Anora to be outraged about.
There was definite sense in allying with the Orlesian Wardens and with the Oralais armies, which would have damaged the country less and perhaps lowered the casualties toll. Ferelden needed help against darkspawn as Duncan states. Allying with Orlais was not equivalent of selling Ferelden into slavery again. This was Loghain dramatizing. Though, as per stated Cailan wasn't that astute and perhaps marrying Celene was overboard, he could have sought diplomatic ties without that marriage. It also may have been possible to use Orlais and back out of the deal, we don't know the full extent of those plans.
We found the official documents, so, there isn't a doubt whether Cailan was making ties with Orlais or not. Unless Cailan had more up his sleeve, maybe Ferelden got lucky he had been killed.

Having read about the history of the Blights in WoT and in Last Flight, it is clear they only help if they think they are getting something out of it. In the 2nd Blight Drakon originally went north in the hope of annexing parts of Tevinter whilst they were otherwise engaged, then turned aside at the request of the Wardens and annexed the Anderfels instead, who opted for independence again some 20 years after Drakon the elder had died. In the 3rd Blight Orlais only got involved after pressure from the Wardens, drove out the darkspawn from Nevarra and then failed to return home after Toth was destroyed, eventually being driven out by Nevarran fight for independence 40 years later. In the 4th Blight, despite requests from the Wardens, Orlais did not send an official army as they were not directly threatened, although individual Chevaliers did take part. So if Loghain knew his history of the Blights, it is hardly surprising he thought Orlais saw it as an opportunity to retake lost territory. Cailan was an idiot who would have been easily manipulated by Celene and it was his choice to stand on the front line and then break ranks in a suicidal charge, so I am not sure how much Loghain was the premeditated betrayer. In my human noble run, he also redeemed himself by willingly taking the dive at the end, having acknowledged he was leaving Ferelden in safe hands. Anyway, I still think he is the sexiest of Group B; he wore way better than Teagan did. Incidentally, who was responsible for making Arl Teagan such a sour puss? That's right, Orlais.

Having read about the history of the Blights in WoT and in Last Flight, it is clear they only help if they think they are getting something out of it. Of course they would those stabby grabby Game players. Orlais couldn't afford another open military conflict with Ferelden, but they could try from the political angle. I wouldn't be surprised if they made this marriage a mandatory condition for the alliance, but I doubt they presented it as a hard ultimatum to Cailan. More likely they came up with a bunch of brainwashing political reasons spiced up by flirting why it would be sound in order to convince Cailan. I found it interesting nonetheless that Cailan was the one holding the official documentation of their secret exchange, which puts him in position of power. Since it wasn't public and he held the vital information, he could have burned all the correspondence post the event and claimed none of it ever happened. Anora underestimates how much he was politically involved. However, Ferelden needed help with darkspawn and ironically Orlais was in the position to help. Cailan wasn't wrong in seeking the help the country needed, but he was pitting himself against the country where manipulation is a daily activity, he was bound to be duped.
When it comes to Cousland involvement, Cailan knew that the general Ferelden public would be smoking mad if they found out about his ties with Celene, while he needed help. I imagine he appealed to one of the most loyal to the king and influential houses in secret and found the support he sought. I figured if the Couslands were involved, they've done so due to the loyalty to the crown and belief that it would be best for the country.
Anyway, I still think he is the sexiest of Group B; he wore way better than Teagan did. This is our Warden's parent we're talking about. Hence everyone found us irresistible, those genes ought to have come from a viable source.
