On Page 151 of the Legendary Edition thread, bshep  laid the specs out, comparing them to the Andromeda specs.

Why make new threads when directing them to the current threads would work? That would save x amount of time for you from 'tidying up', right?

Isn't there a thread for new players to introduce themselves? When they do, if they do, someone usually welcomes that poster.

Is that the same excuse you will use for the suicide mission thread, the war assets thread, character threads, and any other thread? Someone will create a thread asking how he/she can have this or that character die during the suicide mission. Would would you do? Link them to the current thread or come up with whatever explanation to getting that character killed without having to refer to the thread? No matter what, any questions about whatever, people will post a link to the current thread for that poster to read. Over time that person and others might end up posting in the thread instead of wasting time creating a new thread.

I didn't pick up the MET until the beginning of 2016. There were plenty of "vets" here at the time and it wasn't a problem. We were all new to this at one time and we all go thrown into the deep end. That said, the presence of this thread has no impact on me.

I've shifted this discussion into the forum discussion area because it's hardly a 'new members discussion' anymore.

Just been thinking about this, keeping the MELE as story-spoiler-free as possible until a later time - I wouldn't suggest that people can't post in the MELE area, but that everything should be under spoiler tags.

I think it's a reasonable option to keep open. If people want to use it, fine, if they don't they can just dive into the MET area. Everything will merge back into there someday anyway. In fact, I'm going to propose merging the MELE content into the MET sub on November 7, 2021. That's near enough to 6 months after release that probably most people who want to avoid spoilers will be able to.

Is everyone really that concerned about duplicate threads? I don't feel like it's going to be that much of a problem to merge.
