The Countdown is over!

As a PC player, I like most of the improvements made to ME1 but want more. It was a hopeful sign that the devs apparently reached out to the modding community for feedback as well as the removal of the 4GB memory limit. Mods like Expanded Galaxy and Priority Earth Overhaul getting ported over would excite me enough to pick up a copy.

Why wouldn't it work with Windows 7? It's not that old.

Not really. Sort of a token gesture, and nobody knows who they actually reached out to.

When Devs say they've reached out to modders for input, but no known modders can confirm it... things begin to look suspicious

To rehash what I thought was common knowledge here:

mgamerz was never contacted. Orikon the Modder was never contacted. Kinkojiro wasn't contacted - all of the significant modders in the community communicated with each other and came to the conclusion that none of them had any clue who BioWare had talked to, but all agreed without an NDA that it wasn't them. Some were a little irate about it, so I don't think there is any game playing afoot.

It will all be revealed soon enough, so we'll find out. It will be the deciding factor for many buyers, if lack of MP hadn't dissuaded them already, so hopefully BioWare surprises us with a couple happy extra bits. I am yelling at BioWare, "TAKE MORE OF MY MONEY NOW PLEASE."

Listen, they should.

There are literally hundreds of one-off mods made by folks … little fish, if you will, that might not hear from BioWare.

But modding tools and top mods for LE … don't know how you can leave out Mgamerz, KkJiro, CreeperLava and MrFob (who's done with ME AFAIK).

I'm not buying into "BioWare lied" and NDAs certainly play a role, but it seems odd that certain folks denied being contacted, as opposed to a "no comment" I would expect if they were under NDA.

I say this with all due respect: this statement is as rude and ignorant as it is wrong. Go to the Nexus. Check the downloads, check the discussion threads, check the activity/updating/continued support.

It is ok if you don't know who these people are, although several of them used to be members here and I would think mgamerz still is. To say that mgamerz isn't a big fish in Mass Effect modding is wrong in every possible sense and betrays a deep ignorance of the subject matter being discussed.

So I have just been informed by my wife that I cannot actually play the LE until my birthday, of which she already has informed me that is what she is getting. But on the bright side at least this will give me time to finish Wrath of the Druids before diving into the LE fully.

MEA is not like playing the trilogy. Waiting for MELE I need a Mass Effect fix to hold me over but I want to start MELE with a fresh new Shepard so that leaves me with MEA to get my Mass Effect fix. I like MEA well enough but it isn't like playing the trilogy.
