Nah. I don't want to play a game that is influenced by rabid fanbois. Fan hysteria makes a bad dev, bad writer, bad artist. Ignoring the fans will make a worse game than that. Being a edgy hack to own the fans doesn't make a good dev, writer or artist either.

If the option was Andromeda cast or all new I'll take all new every time. They'd have to work at it be worse than Andromeda. It'd be the last ME we'd ever get, regardless, so I'd wish at least the Andromeda fans got some closure.

It's a damn mess.-I want Shepard, but I don't want BioWare to mess with him and ruin his story and character. I simply don't trust them with him after andromeda. -I don't want a new protagonist, because I hate starting over with a new guy every damn story. It's why I fail to get more invested with DA, and is why I got so invested in Shepard and MET. -I don't want Ryder, because I sure as hell don't want andromeda, it's brainless story, and immature squad of high schoolers. I think maybe I can learn to deal with Ryder if he matures, gets a new crew, gets better facial animations and is returned to the milky way (not in a stupid way). Fixing andromeda's dumpster fire of a story will require a very impressive one in the next game though- and I admit I do want to exterminate the kett with milky way forces... I would greatly prefer a new protagonist. Shepard's story is over, plus I really really don't want them to touch him again and make it all worse. Ryder just wasn't my type of character. It felt awkward watching someone trying to be a marvel superhero without any of the charisma. But if they are going for the same style of writing again, they might just stick with Ryder as well. But I hope for a new protagonist who is different from both of them. I mean, if we're all bored of the Milky Way with over 90% of it still unexplored and needed a new galaxy, we certainly need a new protagonist too, no? Friendly reminder that blanket statements asserting Shepard's story is over are futile because here we sit, with the door remaining wide open for Shepard's return. Absolutely no proof his story is completely over; with plenty of proof to say he can return. If the option was Andromeda cast or all new I'll take all new every time. They'd have to work at it be worse than Andromeda. Agreed. Now we're stuck wondering if the milky way is gonna be forced to merge with andromeda for ME4. Now that andromeda exists, it'll never go away- like herpes. If the option was Andromeda cast or all new I'll take all new every time. They'd have to work at it be worse than Andromeda. It'd be the last ME we'd ever get, regardless, so I'd wish at least the Andromeda fans got some closure. Hmm. Why should they get the closure and not us? What merits their little heartstrings to get pampered over those who want more quality milky way?

If they can't do a good job, honestly I think at this point they'd be better off going the CoD route and just crank out games. If we are going to get mediocre slop in the setting it minds as well be every other year. Or hand off the franchise to a group with enough people to do it like Ubisoft, so slightly better than mediocre slop every other year. Preferably they'd just do a good job again, just doubtful they are capable of doing that anymore.
As an aside I like the name change, SirSourpuss is a awesome handle.

Unless the writing quality really changes, its very likely it will be the last ME The writing is not going to change. This is how Bioware thinks and what they want to write, isn't going to change. I do understand that Ed is no longer working for Bioware, but let's not forget Mirandagate and Kevin Meek. Sexy is out, cringe is in. Writing is not going to change, this is who they are now.

Friendly reminder that blanket statements asserting Shepard's story is over are futile because here we sit, with the door remaining wide open for Shepard's return. Absolutely no proof his story is completely over; with plenty of proof to say he can return. Well yes, in theory he can return, like a former world class boxer can return to compete in the local amateur league long after the crowning win of his career. But who'd want to see that? Sometimes I prefer to remember characters how they were and not how present day writing changes them. I mean, technically Luke Skywalker returned in The Last Jedi...

And it suffers from the same "cook up old stuff and sell as new": Death Star is now Strkiller base, remaster this, rerecord that, use this sample of the hit 15 years ago etc.

I do understand that Ed is no longer working for Bioware, but let's not forget Mirandagate and Kevin Meek. Sexy is out, cringe is in. Writing is not going to change, this is who they are now. Wow. Really ? Guys like that are so embarrassing. It's just..ugh. I thought they only existed on twitter, and I was fine with that, until I fell on one for real in a nightclub one night a few years ago. Almost the same words, the same reaction. I was climbing the stairs behind a pretty girl with heels on her feets, and she almost fell, I prevented that to happen by catching her. She told something like ' Thanks, It's because I saw an handsome guy behind me. ' I didn't know if it was just a joke, but It didn't need more to get my interest so I followed her and came to talk to her at the bar. She was being intently conflictual however, kept critizing me, trying to destabilize me with a devil smile on her face. My guts told me it was a girl who liked a challenge and spicy things so I answered with the same tone, being provocative too toward her. The more it happened, the more she laughed. At one point she tells me " don't you dare looking me like that ", so I make some steps toward her, put my face very close to hers, " what if I do ? " And then a guy behind me, who probably saw the whole scene, intervened, and claimed I should never invade the intimate space of a woman, corner her without her permission, it's predatory, and I should not talk like that, women need to be respected, blah blah, playing the marvel heroman she needed. I was so shocked, I could only laugh. Was that serious ? After that, he tried to talk to her, ignoring me, and get her attention with values of respect and feminism, and she listened. They talked together, and I was becoming the third useless guy. Silent, getting impatient, I was looking elsewhere, preparing my retreat, willing to let them alone. There were other girls after all. But I think the girl noticed I was about to leave, because she suddenly took my hand, and guided me to the dance floor without any consideration for the talkative heroman offended behind. Laughing, I screamed with a thumbs up" keep going dude, you are the best " These guys are so ridiculous. I sometime wonder if they are honest or just want to be popular. Let's hope he doesn't write any romance for the male character in the future game. He and John Elper, when I read their tweets, I'm sometimes pessimistic for the quality of writting for future games. I regret that time when Bioware wasn't matrixed by weird ideas or social politics, when they only cared about writting.

To me its not even a lack of trust. I love my Shep. I have very little interest in a generic Shephard because that's all i think it would be if they returned because i can't see them doing a full import of every person's choices. I definitely don't want Ryder. A failed protagonist and cast is a failed protagonist. The small group of Andromeda hardcore fans aren't going to like changing ryder & co to try and placate a wider audience and the chances that polishing Ryder is going to end well are vanishingly slim. That leaves a fresh slate as the best option to me, ideally long long after Shep's time.

That leaves a fresh slate as the best option to me, ideally long long after Shep's time. You do understand that, with the freedom afforded to them, the Bioware writers will just make Ryder and Co. #2, though. Which ensures the death of the franchise. Meanwhile, the defined characters of the trilogy, don't afford them the freedom to do whatever they want with them. Also, making a new crew, doesn't prevent Bioware from bringing back the old characters in cameos, just to tear them down, in favour of the "new" crew. Which is something that is happening in the most popular franchises of today, like Star Wars, like Star Trek, like Marvel and DC comics etc. Don't get me started on the Indiana Jones 5 spoilers.

It's a damn mess.-I want Shepard, but I don't want BioWare to mess with him and ruin his story and character. I simply don't trust them with him after andromeda. I like to have Shepard return as well. Most likely if that were to happen, the same writers for MEA won't be writing for ME4 since all the employees have been moved to ther area's within EA. Someone correct me if that's wrong. I don't have a problem with a new main character. The problem I have is bringing someone back from the trilogy because....reasons. Either bring all back or don't bring any back. I recall a poster posting, shortly after MEA released, MEA was like a bunch of school kids on spring break. For me, if they make the little one mature, I like to have at the beginning of the game a new squadmate ask Ryder why other squadmates are no longer on the roster. Ryder says because two of them did stupid crap, Ryder didn't want them around anymore because he can lead to something worse then what happened. That would be a start. That won't happen. If the little one returns, Bioware will likely have all squad return. Making Ryder more mature would that mean he/she will be more firm against the stowaway and traitor? Maybe, but what would their response be? Likely will assume Ryder has copped an attitude and give the talk-to-the-hand blow off. I would rather have a new squad. With the Milky Way. What purpose would Ryder have to go back? Hmmm. If the mother is alive, will she join her kid in the Milky Way? Will mother want to visit her tombstone where she was supposedly buried? Or the place where her ashes were scattered? That would be interesting. Shepard's story is not over. The guy said one more story. After hearing him say that, after completing my first playthrough, I first thought was Shepard is going to be in another game. How many thought the same? Then there's the tweet about keeping your copy of ME3. The there's the reapers themselves. How do anyone know if the reapers are no longer a threat after being destroyed. The council, as well as Hackett, will want Shepard to make sure. Merge? Let's bring in one of my favorite character's Mr Wiley E. Coyote, Supergenius. With tools he ordered from Acme, he will try to throw a rope with a giant hook at the end to attached to Andromeda to pull to the Milky Way. Like everything else, it will backfire. That will happen if Bioware tries to do that. What happens in Andromeda stays in Andromeda. What happens in the Milky Way stays in the Milky Way The small group of Andromeda hardcore fans Go take a look at comments on Twitter, YouTube, reddit, etc. You'll see a lot of support and positive comments so definitely not a small group but not bigger than shepard obviously. Ok. There are comments. Big deal. What about the other stuff? In the last year, there has been more merchandise showing up relating to the trilogy then MEA. The VA's from the trilogy have been more, actually a lot more vocal about ME than the one's from MEA. If I recall anything from the VA's for MEA was by one, right? The teaser definitely hints at Shepard returning. Showing t'soni would lead one to believe something will happen in the Milky Way with Shepard. Little to nothing hinted about MEA even though there's that ark 6 away comment. Even in the twitter thread, there's been more stuff related to the trilogy than MEA. It seems like MEA was made just to see the reaction would be without having Shepard and the Milky Way in an ME game. They got their answer. EA seems to want to put the game under the rug, and go back to Shepard. The remaster did well. EA would like that to continue. Bringing Shepard back would be more profitable than having the little Ryder return.

They had two merchandise for Andromeda and they released more trilogy stuff this year because of the remaster but what does the merchandise have to do with the positive comments? The teaser was more of the franchise returning with plot stuff hidden in it, it didn't necessarily hinted on Shepard. Showing an older Liara diminishes that idea, it might happen but I don't think so. They showed Ryder and one developer confirmed it but I'm still not sure if they're gonna come back or not but I hope so. There's a lot of stuff in the teaser that hints on Andromeda. From the opening shot to hearing an angara etc. The ark 6 is definitely Andromeda related, and could very well be the geth in it, and who knows? Maybe that teaser poster we've seen could be in andromeda.

The ark 6 is definitely Andromeda related, and could very well be the geth in it, and who knows? Why would anyone build an Ark for the Geth? As far as the galaxy is concerned, the Geth are not friendlies and any contractual work that would require working with servers to house very sophisticated "VIs" would be suspect and need to be reported at authorities because it raised red flags and alarms everywhere. Nobody in the Milky Way likes and trusts AIs, which is another problem I have with ME3 and the Alliance personnel reacting to EDI, but that's for another thread. If the Geth would leave the Milky Way for Andromeda, they would do it collectively, not partially, they would have done it on their own, without a need for the Initiative and they would have done it long ago.

I don't agree that'll they'll just make Ryder & Co Mk2 as if Bioware history suggests anything they'll be steering away from what utterly failed last time round. I don't really see them having an issue with the defined characters of the trilogy. They seem very likely to use Liara as a link character because her age will allow her to still be alive centuries later, the issue is them escaping the shadow of Shep and the impossibility of re-using that character in a way fans would find satisfying. Worst case scenario i'll hate it like Andromeda, it's a free hit in that respect as there are no real expectations at this point given their last 2 games.

Showing an older Liara diminishes that idea, it might happen but I don't think so. . ah yes the older looking t'soni. Is she really that much older or is it the graphics showing her face in greater detail than what was shown in the trilogy? If she is much older, than why wasn't that seen with the very much older asari seen in the trilogy? If I was a fan of MEA having never played the trilogy who like to see Ryder return only to see a teaser showing a character from the trilogy, my first thought would be no Ryder returning. If I played the trilogy without playing MEA, I would believe Shepard is returning after seeing T'soni. If I played the trilogy and MEA, I would believe Shepard is returning after seeing T'soni.

Think they'll go the "super edge" route, to outdo the ME2 cast? Even then, you know how that will play out. Super exaggerated, super competent, but the men will be very passive and meek this time around. Because, as we established earlier, a man that pursues anything, or anyone, is "icky". On Twitter Nathan Zufelt agreed when someone said it's them. I don't know who that is. Never seen it. You got to feed some info, here. Because I'm out, if it's so.
