Our Next Adventure — Dragon Age: Dreadwolf by Author - BioWare - Posted on June 2, 2022
Our next game now has an official name. We know you’ve anxiously awaited new details, and today we’re excited to reveal the official title of the next adventure across the lands of Thedas—Dragon Age: Dreadwolf™.
Who is the Dread Wolf? Solas, the Dread Wolf. Some say he might be an ancient elven god, but some say not. Others say a betrayer of his people…or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity—a player of dark and dangerous games.
Whether you’re new to Dragon Age™ stories or you’ve experienced them all, using Solas’s namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go. But at the core of this, like every past game, is you. If you’re new to Dragon Age, you have no need to worry about not having met our antagonist just yet. He’ll properly introduce himself when the time is right, but we did hint at his return when we announced #TheDreadWolfRises back in 2018.
More Dragon Age: Dreadwolf later this year We suspect you have questions and they’ll be answered in time. While the game won’t be releasing this year, we’re growing closer to that next adventure. Rest assured, Solas is placing his pieces on the board as we speak. That’s all we have for now, but we hope knowing the official title has sparked some intrigue, as we’ll be talking more about the game later this year!
What do you think #Dreadwolf could mean?

How did they manage to be so incredibly lackluster in this name drop announcement. The bar was on the floor and they still couldn’t clear it. Also why is Dread Wolf now one word?
I think I would have preferred The Dread Wolf Rises (or really just about anything else) over Dreadwolf but maybe it will grow on me. The good news is they said they will talk about the game more this year.

They already said that though in the blog post early in the year.

I don´t often agree with Hanako but what the hell? This is pretty bad for revealing a game title or even official announcing it.
Why couldn´t they use Dread Wolf Rises not a long time ago? Also i don´t like the purple. This isn´t Fortnite its Dragon Age so more red.

Yeah. Honestly I can’t think of a worse reveal. I don’t mind it not being red, DAI was green after all and looked good. As for why purple, well his name does mean pride, Pride demons are purple, so maybe the Dread Wolf form is purple.

Yeah, I line a different colour combination for this Game, like Inquisition had with green. And it’s most likely Something related to either Solas, or the protagonist.
I mean not even one screenshot with something just a name drop.
After 3-4 years!!! between today and teaser they have enough time to find a better name than Dreadwolf? We already called it Dread Wolf Rises which is a bit better title but come on.

I don´t like it because it reminds a lot of Rage 2 or other Purple Games.

Yeah, I can fuck with purple.
Though I was expecting gold with the sun-looking iconography from the 2020 teaser, tbh.
Anticipated games: Mass Effect 5, Warframe 1999, XCOM 3, Exodus, Witcher 4 & Remake, Doom: The Dark Ages, Cyberpunk 2, Fable, Grime II, Perfect Dark, Death Stranding 2, Avowed, Titan Quest 2, Control 2, Slay the Spire 2, Wolverine, Subnautica 2, The Alters, Metroid Prime 4, Soulframe, AC Shadows & Hexe, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Pokemon Legends Z-A, Atomfall, Project 007, Gears of War: E-Day, Clockwork Revolution, Blade
also yay for purple as the main color (purple is one of my favorite colors)
Always something to be killed, and I’m the one to do it – Hero of Ferelden ‘Hawke this, Hawke that,’ Why does everything fall to me? - Champion of Kirkwall Our concern must be the order and safety of this world, not the next. - The Inquisitor

Keep in mind that the purple theme might not necessarily be related to Solas.
Weird to use it if not since he's the only thing this waste of an announcement talks about.
I tend to agree, but I wouldn’t completely bet on it. It could very well tie with the protagonist. The new one not having special powers wouldn’t be the first thing that changed or shifted in this game’s development.
If it’s about Solas/related to his plot, I do wonder what it means. Your idea of before is quite interesting.

Weird color to associate with the protagonist if what they've said is true. We're supposedly someone with no power, yet the color they choose is one that throughout history is associated with nobility/royalty thus someone with all the power? Thank you.
I thought purple was the color of the Tevinter Imperium, and since the Imperium feels like an adaptation of the Roman empire... But I'm probably wrong.
Anyway, I'm not sure I see the point of using a video with no music and where nothing happens for the reveal, a screenshot would have been enough

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. What I meant, in the case it’s associated with the protagonist, is that they backtracked on what Varric said in that teaser. It’s quite possible many things changed since then.
