how do you guys grab a portrait and then ignore how you basically can't make the 3d model look like the portrait choosen? meaning everything, from hair, (face doesn't matter much, they aren't that detailed) to outfits/armors etc? drives me crazy lmao. I ditch the portrait if I can't create a lookalike. My crowning achievement was Abdikari

Took me fucking years to get used to shit like that, haha. I tended to choose a portrait that I could emulate in the CC.
But yeah, I find it highly annoying there's portraits with, for instance, eye colors that aren't in the CC.

I should forbid myself to think about new characters, else I will never finish this damn game. Have another one already lined up.
But I should probably just finish the game, so I can then use a save to try out level 20 recruits to see if I can actually make what I worked out on paper.
Anyway, I'm in act 3 right now. Pretty much done with it, I suppose, just waiting for the Queen to arrive.

Currently a little fed up with the game. Because I think I found a bug, a rather big one I think, posted about it on the official forums and got zero response. The bug in question being that if you're Kitsune and change your shape into a human, you lose all natural attacks but your fists. The way it's worded now, and the way it's supposed to work, is that you'll lose the Kitsune bite attack because, well, you're not a Kitsune at that point and humans don't have a bite attack. But I have a bite attack from a different source (Wolf-Scarred Face) and this is also removed. It shouldn't. But it doesn't stop there. If you're a Dragon Disciple and get out your claws. Quess what? That also doesn't work. It's bite attack? Also gone. The way I see it, changing shape should remove your race based natural attack: the Kitsune bite. But all class based natural attacks should stay. It's a real bummer too, because this build was gonna be absolutely absurd. I could redo it with a different curse and just ignore the loss of both the DD's claws as well as it's bite, but I was really looking forward to having like 8 attacks/round at 28 strength (without items or buffs!)
Just for fun, it was gonna be something like this:
Starting stats (level 20 base stats, without class upgrades and mythic stuff) Str 15 (18) Dex 10 Con 11 (12) Int 13 (14) Cha 18
With (mythic) feats and class bonuses, level 20
28 (!) 14 16 12 14 18
1 Monk (Scaled Fist)
2 Witch (Stigmatized Witch) 3 Monk 4 Ranger (Demonslayer) 5 Ranger
6 Dragon Disciple 7 Dragon Disciple 8 Dragon Disciple 9 Dragon Disciple 10 Ranger
11 Ranger
12 Ranger
13 Ranger
14 Paladin (Divine Scion) 15 Paladin
16 Paladin
17 Paladin
18 Paladin
19 Paladin
20 Paladin
With all kinds of synergy with the high strength and high charisma
Oh well, guess I'll play some other game.

Of the three planned DLCS, only the first sounds a little interesting. The other two seems more of meh.

As expected, the DLC broke the save I was going to use it on. Since it's a level 20 DLC which starts right before the last boss, I won't be seeing it anytime soon. On the bright side, you can start a new game and level to 20 just for the DLC. I won't play like this but it's great to test max level builds and mythic level 10 characters.

Finally completed Wrath of the Righteous. Considering how few actual RPGs are there (custom protagonist and some range in terms of roleplay), it is a good game. Would be an excellent game, if it was not 120-hour long, combat-heavy (i.e. pacifist playthrough is impossible), and apparently unfinished on release (had to repurchase on GOG to avoid forced updates, which cannot be disabled on Steam).
And the portraits available for custom characters (NPCs look fine) were unusable - impossible to find one that looks like the character I want to play, too specific to use imagination. If the developers at least added hoods/head gear fully covering the face, it already would be much better. As it was, my half-elf rogue with 2 kukris had a half-orc with falcata on the portrait. Just in case, I am aware that I could import any image for the portrait, but there should have been better ones to begin with. Or it should have been possible to generate one based on the 3D model, like, for example in Dragon Age or Fire Emblem: Fates.

Wasnt sure where to link this but Now this is awesome. A character-driven RPG set in the Warhammer 40K universe being developed by the team behind the Pathfinder series. I can't think of a better group to explore this setting and properly do it justice.

Looking good! After much back and forth with Pathfinder Kingmaker and Wrath Of the Righteous, I can say I'm an Owlcat fan. I have no idea what the 40K universe is about but I'm certain that Owlcat will beat it into me as they did with the Pathfinder games.

You should look up some lore videos on the Warhammer: 40K setting, its a really fascinating setting. Having existed since the early 80s there is mountains of lore to sink your teeth into. For the game itself I really hope that we can see our Rogue Trader recruiting more than just Aldari as xeno allies if we so choose. Orks, Tau, Kroot, even Necrons would be feasible especially if we consider that the trader house our PC comes from has a Warrant of Trade signed by the Emperor of Mankind himself. Kinda hard for the Inquisition to accuse you of heresy when you have the literal word of god saying you can pretty much do what you want.

Yep and after 120 hours of grueling combat, numerous reloads, alt-tabbing to look up some puzzle or effect that's wrecking my party (subsonic hymn), I don't wanna hear shit from the big baddie about their motivation. Just STFU and die. If you want my sympathy or to cut some deal with me, you need to approach me 50 hours into the game with your sob story. I know this is a premade campaign but sheesh. I'm on my 3rd playthrough and I will never: - Finish Nenio's quest - Get the secret ending - Complete playthrough

This sounds cool in theory, except... will it use some variation of the Pathfinder system?
EDIT: Oh, it's turn-based! Cool.

From what I've seen Blizzard Entertainment ripped off some of WH 40K to make Starcraft the same way the ripped Warhammer to create Warcraft.

Welcome to the setting, I wish you luck on your lore deep dive. Speaking of which:
And yeah, Blizzard wanted to create a Warhammer Fantasy/40k game but they couldn't get the license from Games Workshop so they made their own IP. As it is now though, I think both settings have pulled inspiration from the same sources.

Really wanted Starfinder, as that setting could use more love. Plus, as much I enjoy WARHAMMER and 40K, they can get too depressing even for my tastes in long campaigns. Oh well...

My one concern is that the 40K setting pretty much coined the term "grimdark" True. Though, to compare, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous had a story focused on a nation with a literal hellmouth at the center of it. Warhammer 40,000 is dark and depressing when it needs to be, but that is only partially to do to the nature of the setting. There is the perspective that is commonly presented to consider. Most 40K stories are focused almost entirely on the wars fought over planets and star systems; titanic battles that easily see the loss of ten million men as barely a footnote in logistical concerns. So naturally any story centered around the frontlines of a hellish warscape would look pretty dark. But the beauty of Rogue Traders is that you are not focused on the wars raging around the galaxy so the story isn't as nearly as dark as it would seem. What's more, Rogue Traders are kind of given free-reign in how they go about their duties to the Imperium of Man; especially those trader families which posses a Writ of Trade that was signed by the Emperor of Mankind himself during the Great Crusade. Having a piece of paper with the word of god saying that you are allowed to use whatever means are at your disposal to ensure that trade is expanded in humanity's favor means that the normal notions of extreme xenophobia or religious fanaticism common to the Imperium of Man can be lessened. Indeed, there are many Rogue Traders that work openly with the various alien races; even having them as members of their crew in certain cases.

My one concern is that the 40K setting pretty much coined the term "grimdark" I would add that I don't think 40K is as grimdark as some of its fans figure. At least, it doesn't have to be. At heart, it's a self-consciously over-the-top and even goofy setting. For one, the entire Ork race is pretty much comic relief (football hooligans... in SPACE!). There's even a series of children's books for 40K. I'm not trying to take it to the other extreme and say that 40K can't be serious either. But it's not all misery, all the time, and with Owlcat's track record I doubt they'd make the mistake of leaning too heavily in that direction. EDIT: That famous tagline, "In the grim darkness of the future there is only war"? It sounds silly and melodramatic, and I'm pretty sure that's intentional. It captures the feel of the setting pretty well, but not in the way the edgelords imagine.
