Ebon Hawk-sized, but fully realized. Need to man the turrets? Climb into the saddle and start blasting! Actual cabins that look like someone lives there - not a single cot even on the Ebon Hawk. Come to think of it, did we ever see sleeping quarters on the damned Millennium Falcon? Anyways, smaller ship but still places for the crew to properly rest. This could all be ideas for the KotOR revamp, but I am talking about Mass Effect. ClarkKent - make that other thread. Post-ME3 Ice Pirate Shepard is the game I want.

I've said this before to the scoffing of many.... I'd like for there to be a mp space craft battle section to this game. up to 4 players in multiplayer like previous games, everyone has their own ship, customizable and with different abilities.

I think this is a grand idea, and something I missed in ME were actual space battles that we actively participated in. I like this very much AleEel. Great opportunity for PvP or co-op, and MP can be skipped entirely if you prefer bot combat for those portions of the game for those against "forced" MP affecting their SP experience. Nice work BrewShark! ETA this matches my post in some respects - the EH had functional turrets with extra lame space battles. That could be improved, in the manner you describe would be fantastic Edit2 The PvP is a lot simpler to implement in this than it would have been in ME3MP or MEAMP. No boss sized units that players can control, everyone is a mook. Pare down the number of kits, make the kits more customizable. Players that love to make pretty things are happy, players that love to kill while naked just wearing a bucket for a hat, will also be happy. Antisocial people that are afraid of or hate MP, they're happy. I am already playing this in my head. BioWare Please?

I would actually be interested in a Mass Effect space MMO. Not because I like MMOs but because I'm that thirsty for the Mass effect content.
Don't read this EA.

I would actually be interested in a Mass Effect space MMO. Not because I like MMOs but because I'm that thirsty for the Mass effect content. Don't read this EA. SWTOR is still alive and kicking and that's a BioWare-created game. In theory, something ME-related could be put out that would be decent. In practice, there's just not enough story to make it happen. I guarantee it will flop if humans aren't an option and humans have only been around for less than 100 years. I guess it could be something along the lines of the future MW or even Andromeda but then you cripple future SP games.
However, yes, I would like the idea principle.
EDIT: Or do you mean space battles, like Normandy vs Tempest? Obviously the Tempest would lose because it has no ability to fight but not the point. If this is what you're looking for then I definitely wouldn't be interested.

Try playing the SP mode of UNO (a word of advice don't do a 500 point game unless you have a LOT of time to play)

We've seen a couple of ship designs (the Mudskipper & the SFX). The Mudskipper is from the MW and I suspect the SFX is from Andromeda. But given how early they are in the process, who knows what we'll end up with in the end. I thought this was an interesting piece of concept art though. Mike teased that it wasn't a mass relay, so perhaps it's a ship (a Mass Runner)? It'd be fun to have our own (trans-galactic?) capital ship.
to bring the thread back to it's main topic > SPACESHIP
weird, I never picked up on the SFX having Tempesty/AI colors and design until now. probably again with the asinine glass walkway 2 story layout Think you're on an intriguing path with the MR7 being some kind of hub.
---
I'd prefer a small ship and crew. Something rather utilitarian - workhorse - trusty old rust bucket kept together with duct tape instead of luxury-leather seats-prototype with swanky (Galaxy class carpet) room, even for the mandatory main player character's "loft/cabin". Looks like the mud-skipper could be something like that size and look wise. - would really like that. I doubt we'll get major customization options with modules or stuff that is visible on the exterior or interior - much more likely we'll get to buy/amass some decorative items. But who knows maybe Starfield will make Bioware go in the more customizable direction. 2 things I absolutely want: 1) logical internal layout and design 2) an airlock - so I can airlock all the problems - aka characters I don't like... and we can exit/enter without requiring a ramp...

Since we're 600 years in the future and it's speculated that inter-galaxy travel may be possible, I would say that the new ship would be a blend of a Normandy and Tempest Equivalent. The best state of the art ships, while keeping the familiar element of not being a captain on some big ship.
Also, I did like what EGM did for ME3, where you could improve the Normandy and it gave you more scan radius, faster travel speed and many other things that helped you in some missions that were made for the mod. I wouldn't mind not having a visual customization, since it's not our ship per se, but one from an organization that we serve in (Alliance/Cerberus/Andromeda Initiative), so we gotta have the colours there.

I have a lot of faith in BW to give us a decent new ship. My favorite so far is still the SR1. I liked that it was all about functionality and still probably has the coolest scifi space ship design to this day IMO. I particularly liked the moving parts on the engine, that made it look like the ship was "buckeling up" when going into FTL or through a relay. The SR2 was also cool and had some useful stuff in it for a game hero ship but it also had some weirdness going on. I did like that the captains quarters were part of the exterior hull space, so technically it wasn't a waste of space but still, there was plenty of other waste and weird design decisions going on. One could excuse this by the fact that Cerberus built the ship and made some alteration specific to their special needs but then, the fact that Cerberus would be able to build a ship like this from scratch in secret was a major downside of the SR2 to begin with. Also, it did feel a little like "we built a bigger better ship, so let's discard the old one in a quick cutsene". Otherwise, the SR2 is alright, especially after the Alliance takes it over and retrofits it in ME3. The Tempest also had a bunch of weird stuff going on and the overall shape took me a while to get used to but they did a lot of stuff right with that ship IMO, especially when it comes to the interior. I just love that they finally managed to connect the exterior space to the interior, giving the ship all those windows. How the lighting changes in the ship depending on where you are stopping on the galaxy map is increadible. And yes, I know, windows are structural weaknesses and their half-assed lore breaking explanation for this was just in line with all the other silliness going on in Andromeda but still, it looked so gorgeous I actually didn't mind. So what do I want for the next ship? I want it to be functional like the SR1 but also nice and open like the Tempest. So here is my idea: Make it a consular ship. Something a diplomat or ambassador would use. Maybe we play one, maybe we kinda just get it from one but that way, you could kinda have the best of both worlds. On the one hand, a ship like that might need to be very self sufficient, capable of longer term independent missions and because it might have to go into politically unstable territory, it could be argued that it was reasonable to outfit it with both some defensive and stealth capabilities. Probably not too much, so the ship couldn't just handle every situation on it's own (so you as the hero still need to organize support, typical ME stuff) but good enough to get us out of a tough spot if needed. At the same time, the ship is also designed to host diplomatic events and maybe impress visitors or just provide a nice space for negotiations, receptions and such. So it would have something like retractable armor plating, so on a button press, you can expose large clear oxide/nanofiber windows, so in game you can have the same awesome lighting and open scenary that we saw in Andromeda. For that reason, the ship would also be slick looking from the outside. For such a vessel, it would also make sense to give it good communications equipment, so you can stay in touch with mission givers, etc. while some guest quarters can be occupied by squad mates you pick up or can be converted into more functional gameplay related places like a lab or an armory. So yea, something like that I could see working pretty well as a hero ship for a new ME game.

I'd love for the next game to have a much bigger, more heavily armed ship. Shepard was an O-5 someone at that rank should be in charge of hundreds of people, maybe even into the thousands. I don't think either version of Normandy had more than 50 people on board. A Special Forces type probably doesn't need a Capital Ship, but Normandy did feel a little small.

If you exit Ryder's room, the door to the bathroom if to the right while the kitchen is to the left.

If I remember right the tempest capt. quarters had no bathroom you had to go down to the lower deck. It didn't have a bathroom yes, but the captain's quarters were on the lower deck. If you exit Ryder's room, the door to the bathroom if to the right while the kitchen is to the left. I stand corrected your right I was going off the top of my head when I made the comment had to load the game and go aboard to see I was way off base

2) an airlock - so I can airlock all the problems - aka characters I don't like... and we can exit/enter without requiring a ramp... I miss that "stand by shore party, decontamination in progress" scene, it was so immersive.
