Baldur's Gate III - Non Spoiler Edition

Just played some MP splitscreen and thankfully this hasn't happened to us yet..

Did you get it fixed? I haven't had any issues with controller support. One thing that's working fine for me!

My download this morning is just 695mb ( on GOG).

So. I'm thinking I'll have to put BG3 on hold until I can upgrade my PC in the near-ish future. At first it didn't seem so bad, only textures loading slowly during conversations, but now the game is lagging constantly. Fights are about the only thing that runs smoothly, and every now and then I get a really bad crash. Figured I'd have to pay the piper for only just about meeting the minimum specs

At least this gives me time to think whether to continue my Paladin playthrough or reroll a new character.

I'm pleased to see that the Xbox version is going to be coming out this year . This game looks to be right up my alley with the choice and consequences.

The slow wait for the release is making me jealous especially when I see all the created characters. Must...resist...looking...at...spoilers... 

I suppose it gives me time to think on what type of character to play. At the moment, my choice is half-orc assassin.

Well, I finally finished BG3.

As someone who worked on BG2, my very first game in the industry, I gotta echo what everyone else has said: this resurrected the feeling of it in every way. Hats off to @larianstudios for all the love that clearly went into this. A worthy successor.

Did I have some issues? Did I encounter bugs, even big ones? Do I have some Thoughts on the construction of its romances? Did I yearn for SOME kind of epilogue or wrap up at the end? All yes, but none of those detracted from the monumental achievement, here. I enjoyed every hour.

I find myself bemused, considering all the things I've been told from time to time that are too "old-fashioned" for a modern title: a silent protagonist, turn-based combat, nothing resembling monetization or live service for miles to be seen. Yet here we are. 😊

I hope Larian and all the creators involved are proud of their achievement. I can't imagine all the resoures and the work that would've been required (well, that's not quite true - I can), and I really hope it was worth it. If we're all lucky, this is just the beginning.

I think it's pretty much a given that we will have Epilogues, and probably soon. They talked about them extensively, including just weeks before launch. They seem to have been taken out due to some type of technical issue, as soon as it's fixed I'm sure they will be back, and from what I've heard there are a whole lot of them, in some cases 15 minutes worth of Epilogues, according to the head guy himself.

Ah, that’s good to hear. I’m so glad! There are so many things you can affect, it seems wrong not to get some sense of how they work out once all is said and done.

Also glad he enjoyed it. I'm a little surprised he managed to find time to play it so soon, given his own game just launched. 

And I've been so busy playing, I haven't paid attention to the discourse out there at all, other than what shows up on the BSN threads.  

That was a surprise to me too! I'm hoping my pace is just leisurely enough that they'll be in before I finish...

Yeah the reviews are usually good if the game is good.  But even if the game is good the forum members will still hate it.  It's a very toxic atmosphere over there.
