Baldur's Gate III - Non Spoiler Edition

Here we go

I only sleep 6 hours, if even that, there was big thunderstorms all night. We are off to a great start!

I just wanted to do one little more thing, shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes, I ended up doing 2 hours more. 

In GOG Galaxy, click on the weird button on the right side of the PLAY button, in the menu go to "Manage installation" and click "Configure...". In the panel that opens, you should have 3 tabs, the 3rd one should have the name DLC and you should see the deluxe DLC selected once you view it. Otherwise select it and it should download.

The items will all be in the camp stash (the one near Shadowheart's little camping setup). The Dice Skin can be changed during a DC, there is a button in the bottom left to pick the one you want when that "window" is up.

The cape is fabulous, but I had it clipping during a cutscene, I was seeing the inside of the cape instead of Shadowheart who was making a comment. Might also be related to me using a buff body (it's buff, somewhat weird on a bard, but I love towered over almost everyone and having to crouch in some scenes).

Also, dyes are interesting. Some cloths have palettes when you use a color. I used a free teal dye to change the default bard armor and more of it turned red than teal (it looked great with the fabulous red cape).

Due to hilariously frustrating issues getting my new GPU installed that took 2h I started the download so late it finished right before going to bed. Download took ages, almost 3h and then the PC also went into sleep mode as I was out walking the dog. And apparently that also stops downloads. So lost about half an hour there. Total mess. (Btw what fast internet speeds do you guys have??? I know I live in Germany and all that where internet is slow AND expensive but 100 Mbit that I have wasn't even possible until 5 years ago and I'm happy enough with it, but boy games are BIG now.)

I still have to sort out the mess with FO4 not running proplery on RTX cards AND I plan on finishing my settlement this weekend. And anyway, still no new monitor. But I just HAVE to make my own character and hopefully not get any crashes on this game as well.

The CC looks REALLY good. Your characters all look amazing. Super excited for it. Will share when I have settled on mine. Going to take forever to settle on looks and build.

300Mbps here. Have been enough for a while. I have the option to get it to 1Gbps for about 25 euros monthly. But I don't feel a need yet.

100Mbps should be fine. That's 12MBps which will take a few hours to download something this big, but how often do you do that? For everything else you're good.

OK, I spent like 2 hours in CC, lol.
88 hairstyles, omfg. For a hot minute I thought best CC ever but then I realized that there is no face sculpting, just presets and not a lot of them. This is always so disappointing. Customization for everything else is cool though.
I hit randomizer a few times and really liked one of the first ones and only tweaked the colors a bit.
I settled on a wood gnome because I like the idea of this small person shapeshifting into a bear, lol. Wood elf was my one and only Skyrim character I finished the game with so I didn't want to do that again.
Went with the Outlander background. Made the most sense.
I thought she was cutest zoomed out, not all that happy with the face close up and the big ears tbh. Funny enough, I sent pictures to a friend and she said she looks like me. Which made me go "huh?" because I'm pale as fuck and this girl here is brown but whatever.
I think I sat there for 20min just trying to think of a name cooler than the default one ("Tav") just because I feel obligated to come up with one myself. Gave up and called her "Nyx" which is pronounced like the german word for "nothing".

Green highlights and makeup because nature... Sliiightly creeped out by the too big head on the smaller races but I guess I'm keeping here because otherwise I'll never be done. Not as pretty as I'd like. I like tiefling and dragonborn best but they don't really fit the druid vibe. So maybe next time.
Honestly, no idea what I was doing with the stats, so I left them at default and only swapped out a few spells.


Picked the guardian from the randomizer as well. First I wanted a tiefling but accidentally skipped the one I liked until I ended up on this guy: The hair is hilarious! I only slightly changed the hair color.


I've just gained control of my character and quit the game to post this. The intro cutscene was AWESOME btw!

Ok, it says it is ticked…I’m downloading the offline installer just in case, and will check again.
