Sure you could play both quite stealthily, but not at the level the original game lineage. Origins tried it a bit, Odyssey tried less, Vikings got a bit of it back and Mirage is almost like the original games, though not as janky. What I mean is Ody&Vikings did not feel as much as AC games, though they upped the RPG side nicely. Now I'm expecting Shadows to be the culmination of all (and prolly I'm wrong but hey I can dream!) that with the dual playable characters. I think the size of Ody&Vikings attributed to the fact, I mostly stealthed in the beginning and later on it was just less time taking to just rip everyone's head off or just run to the target and ignore the lamers.
Edit2: I mean in the original games and Mirage you'll get killed soon if you try to be one man army, even with all the power levels, especially in open without any tools. This way I felt the two were "less of AC". Good games.
I've played the whole Odyssey by silently killing only the required targets, no collateral damage, not even harming the guards. And never entering open combat unless it was an unavoidable scripted event.
For comparison - I was slaughtering hundreds of enemies on the city streets in AC1 already. With the hidden blade. It was like that in every old AC game - you were untouchable if you figured out how to press the counter button.
I had over 140.000 kills in Black Flag as I was competing with a few others to be the "Deadliest Assassin".
There were a few places with forts full of guards and guards would also run from everywhere, so I'd kill the guard outside the front of the fort then slaughter them till the game decided enough was enough. I'll see if I can find the photo of one time with just a pile of bodies around me and it was all down to that simple "E" counter and the guards being polite and fighting you one at a time.
Damn couldn't find it, lost a lot of AC4 screenshots, but I hope we get classic kills similar to these ones:

Again the game looks magnificent BUT I am really not sold on having to change characters in the middle of combat, my hope would have been that the character you were not playing as took care of those situations.
Though I am open to it. More so than how we had whole missions dictate what character we played in Syndicate.

It can work, depending on the situation and how they implement it. Batman Arkham Knight had a very simple version of this mechanic that worked well. In certain fights, Nightwing, Robin and even Catwoman would join you and you could switch between them at will, but if you timed it you were setting up combos/finishers. Those instances were more 'arena fights' than the open world missions here, though.

I just hope that it isn't too immersion breaking with it prompting you to change character and I hope it is not happening all the time.
I could be remembering incorrectly, but what I recall the statistic given a few months back was that 80% of the time you can pick whatever character you want and then it is 10% of the time specifically for each character. If you do have a favorite it will be 90% of the time you get to play them.

I went to the link you posted, right clicked on the gif, copied the address and posted it here.
Then you add [img*] and [/img*] at the beginning and end of the link, respectively, removing the *

Thanks. Unfortunately not an option on mobile apparently, as there is no right-click or similar option to directly take the image address. I'll just spare you all the gif horrors.

Yeah, unfortunately the mobile version of most websites is subpar. The mobile version of this website is complete arse.

I mean, DAV is a month and a half away. SW Outlaws will keep me busy for at least a week or two more. It's a fun game to roam around and the 2nd run is actually more fun because I know how to abuse the systems better.
I still got a DAI save to finish. A MELE one too. And I really want to dive in another run of Aliens Dark Descent after I watched the new Alien movie. I am also twitching to play some Odyssey again. A new patch for BG3 also is up... I haven't played the new version of CP2077 and haven't touched its expansion.
So there are ways to pass the time. Not to mention I have a large backlog of acclaimed games I have to start for the first time ever. Looking at you Plague Tale 2, Mad Max, Portal 1 and 2 (yes, never played them), Prey, Bioshock 3, Alien Isolation, every Yakuza game past Y3..., etc.
