Where would we be without your magnificent screenshots!!!!
Tx!! One of my biggest worries is that they'll mess with the Photo Mode camera movement controls for KB&M. Right now, it's easily the best I've used insofar as being able to compose your shot quickly on the PC. Don't "fix" what isn't broken Ubi!!

That is Ubisoft's mandate, find where players are having fun and change it.

Or just change the controls for no reason at all!!!!!

I truly cannot wait for this game to come out, been too long since I had a new AC world to Leap of Faith into.
I'm curious to see what high-level protags are capable of, and will they have Isu/Mythological realms to explore in this game as well.
Yeah, I am hopeful that this game will be a step up in terms of the protags especially in regard to what I thought was a pretty ordinary Eivor, somewhat personality wise but especially ability wise etc.
The Isu stuff will certainly be interesting what route they go down, I loved Kass's abilities, but it seemed to split people on here but not sure about how it went down with the community at large.

Am I the only one who liked Eivor? Never played male, but female Eivor was pretty cool, I thought.
"Kneel before the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt." 21 Feb 2019 at 6:59am - It has not been forgotten. It will not be forgiven. We've now met seven times... Revenge is ice cream - Serza, April 2020 Also known as Mike, David, Scott or Bruce

We're getting pretty close in terms of timeline to the earlier AC games, right? If the protagonist(s) has(have) other-worldly abilities (beyond the ability to land safely from any height into a pile of flowers) then it will be something of a retcon, won't it?

In the end, I guess it'll boil down to "Where they find the fun" more than anything else.
If they wanted to lean into the fantastical, they could introduce another Isu artifact or strong bloodlines to produce a samurai & shinobi with gameplay abilities more akin to their mythological versions.
Or they could remain relatively grounded with a lot of skill and leveraging the technology of the era. Maybe even split two and introduce the fantastical with another trip to an Isu realm.
And yeah, I'm hoping these two have at least mildly interesting personalities. A little worried these two might be duller than dishwater, but we'll see.

... yeah, I think it's just you.
Honestly, I don't hate Eivor, I just didn't find her as interesting as Bayek or Kass. She's "okay", England was "okay", the vikings and growing our village were interesting, there was some fun gear in the game, and the gameplay overall was still fun. And the mythological realms looked great.

I thought she was OK, but her slightly grim sarcastic humour sort of paled in comparison to Kass's snark.

Eivor was ok in terms of AC protagonists. I played only the male one to the end. The female one only up to arriving in England (no NG+ killed my interest going further). But having Kass as the previous protagonist was a high bar.

The Eagle Bearer was doing crazy stuff due to the Spear. Even more regular AC protagonists can do awesome things with Pieces of Eden.

I might be the only one not liking Kassandra or Odyssey so much then... I did not think it as AC game mostly, the fighting was too brute kinda with almost zero stealth, Vikings did it a bit better but I actually really liked the Mirage way of combat - you cannot just force kick or overpower every time every opponent - you'll die...
Anyway, really excited about Shadows. NINJAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa...
edit: not saying odyssey is a bad game at all, I enjoyed it for what it was for sure!

What AC Odyssey was almost zero stealth and Valhalla did it better???? Valhalla was Viking charge and two axes blazing most of the time.
Uni, my friend you were playing Odyssey wrong then.
I can share some of my gameplay videos of whole forts (the big ones) worth of stealth if you want? Camps, mini-forts you name it the only things you could not stealth were the Legendary Animals and Creatures.
I used stealth so much with my CRIT build in Odyssey without hardly ever even having to use the bow which in Valhalla was near impossible. Although you do have magical powers like Rush Assassination.

Sure you could play both quite stealthily, but not at the level the original game lineage. Origins tried it a bit, Odyssey tried less, Vikings got a bit of it back and Mirage is almost like the original games, though not as janky. What I mean is Ody&Vikings did not feel as much as AC games, though they upped the RPG side nicely. Now I'm expecting Shadows to be the culmination of all (and prolly I'm wrong but hey I can dream!) that with the dual playable characters. I think the size of Ody&Vikings attributed to the fact, I mostly stealthed in the beginning and later on it was just less time taking to just rip everyone's head off or just run to the target and ignore the lamers.
Edit2: I mean in the original games and Mirage you'll get killed soon if you try to be one man army, even with all the power levels, especially in open without any tools. This way I felt the two were "less of AC". Good games.

I get what you are saying that they are not like the old games and Valhalla definitely was more like the old ones.
Using stealth and the rush assassination power in Odyssey you could take the smaller camps (5 or less enemies) by creeping up and hitting one bound key. Under 30 seconds if your CRIT score was high and with the right engravings.

I've played the whole Odyssey by silently killing only the required targets, no collateral damage, not even harming the guards. And never entering open combat unless it was an unavoidable scripted event.
For comparison - I was slaughtering hundreds of enemies on the city streets in AC1 already. With the hidden blade. It was like that in every old AC game - you were untouchable if you figured out how to press the counter button.

I agree to that too, but for me it felt much easier in the recents to just go and kick doors in. What I think I'm yearning is for some kind of balance between the extreme rampage heroes and just stealths and in both ends one is a god. I get it in the end we like to be one though
