So on top of choosing a voice, we can also adjust the pitch? This CC sounds incredible! No, it’s just the four voices confirmed. The GI article mention "pick one of 4 voices, with a pitch shifter for each too".

Quoting here for anyone who wants to read a non-spoiler version of what's in the article. Someone on DA Reddit wrote up all the none-spoilery stuff: https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/1dizgsb/comprehensive_summary_of_game_informer_coverage/

Hello new home. How did we go so quickly from wondering if the game would perhaps come next year to hiding in here. I am getting whiplash I could venture out and try to scout for info but I don't want to accidentally learning something major so under a rock I go. What are you guys doing while waiting? My brandnew Inky just got to Haven. Currently I'm stumbling around sort of remembering things and mapping out what I want to get done before getting smacked by old-dude-with-a-god-complex. Remember that I used to do things in a very specific way so I would get certain npc later on in the Castle. Thought about reading up on it and then decided against it. If I'm going to have even a glimmer of hope of getting anywhere in DAI before Veilguard comes I better just move on instead of reading tactics.

What are you guys doing while waiting? Playing other stuff, hoping I can get through it all before Veilguard releases. I do plan on replaying my second Solasmancer and using that world state in my first game but at this point I don't know when to start it. I normally need about 6 wks for a complete PT with all the DLCs included.

I might try another saga playthrough but not sure I will have time. Probably depends what part of Fall the game releases. Otherwise I have 2 BG3 playthroughs in progress that will keep me busy.
I was doing really good waiting this year until we got all this info. Now I'm so impatient.

I tried starting up another full playthrough of all the games but DAO crashes in Ostagar and the save corrupts. I got the GOG version of the game, hoping it might be more stable than the Steam one, but it might be an issue with my mods and I don't have the patience to troubleshoot all of them right now. Will do a clean reinstall of the game and add only basic fix mods, Dragon Age Redesigned, and combat movement, see how that works out.
Otherwise, Dawntrail early access is in a little over a week, I have a BG3 playthrough in progress and another one I wanna do, I also have a Solasta playthrough that I started and hope to get back to at some point.

But I already know more about the story/characters than I did going into DAI. I don't know. Whilst initially they were more vague and we gave our own names to concept art of them, so Dorian was known as Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy, during the last few months before release they really started promoting them. They were really pushing Iron Bull with Freddie Prinz as his VA, Dorian because of the gay angle, and Solas but we saw a fair bit of Sera too and knew that Cole was being brought over from the novel Asunder. Much of what we know about these latest characters does come from stories and comics but that is no different to Cassandra, who had been part of a major video series as well as in DA2. I think it seems more of an info dump this time round because there has been nothing for so long and then suddenly they revealed all 7 at the same time, rather than gradually one or two at a time.

Also, I'm with the You Tuber who says that now they hope that will be it for the spoiler reveals. One of my gripes with DAI is that the trailers gradually showed more and more including the one which featured a scene from the finale to the game, which ruined the impact of our dragon ally's appearance for me. Also, I remember everyone saying how the voice asking us to bow before him sounded just like Corypheus and it turned out it was Corypheus, so we started to suspect who the Elder One might be before his reveal at Haven. Of course, for people who hadn't played Legacy that meant absolutely nothing.

Again referencing schmooples I do find it odd that they are being this heavy into the spoilers when the game does not have an official release date so is likely still a few months away. Like I would expect these reveals a couple weeks before launch and not a couple of months so given that...well we're more then likely going to see more story stuff somewhere along the line. On the other hand as I also mentioned/ believe this has been such a front loaded marketing blitz so it sounds like they are getting a lot of the big curiosities of the fandom/ the most obvious stuff out of the way first. This could also suggest that we won't get a lot more from here, but then when is the game coming out? As for spoilers in these games/ trailers in general, for me anyways, I do tend to disagree. The thing about spoilers and trailer spoilers is they are presented largely without context a lot of the time. So there isn't a lot of we can point to to get a specific picture painted. The Dragon Fight is a good example of that because all we saw was a dragon fighting another dragon, the trailer itself did not spoil when that would happen in the game or the events around it. SImilarly we might've already seen the end game in some of the marketing we've got already, but we don't fully know that either, because there is no context, just random images.

(hope that makes sense hehe been drinking).

The Dragon Fight is a good example of that because all we saw was a dragon fighting another dragon, the trailer itself did not spoil when that would happen in the game or the events around it. Well not until we were into the last part of the game and it still hadn't occurred. Then Flemeth said to Morrigan, you know what to do and I instantly thought, yep she's going to be the dragon. So, when Cory's dragon was advancing on us, I kept thinking "any moment now". It did sort of spoil the suspense, although it would have been less of a surprise anyway if you had already tamed a dragon but without the trailer you wouldn't necessarily know when it was going to attack.

Thing is with games and RPGs, even trailers in general, sometimes things in trailers don't make it into the game or are not seen by anyone. It could've very easily been alternate cotent that only a few differnt Inquisitors would see and not mandated for them all. Like I believe there was that great line in 'the Inquisitor' trailer where he is speaking to Madame Giselle after the Dawn Will Come Speech but that is just a single dialog option that you can miss if you click on any of the dialog options. Always especially vexing for me since I love that line so much I just wonder if I keep on clicking on it because I love the line or it would really be the best thing for my RP

Ugh... this is starting to feel like a test of my ability to delay gratification.
In the voice a your average nature documentary:
"We now see the woman hovering with pointer at the forum, will she stay away from the general forum with it's juicy information or remain in the safer spoiler-free confines of the forum. The ability to delay instant gratification has been connected to better grader or higher salaries..."
Back to DA:I. Don't think I can trust myself out in the internet at the moment.
I shall remain strong!!

I don't mind if they leave it for the game. I know enough for now, although I suppose seeing a bit more of their unique skills might be helpful. Also, I believe we are promised something on the griffon, Assan.

so, how relevant is the Game Awards to developers and game companies nowadays? I mean, do they develop and release games with the "Game of the Year" prize in mind? Maybe Bioware is a company that consider this award more important than others companies, since they already won with DAI in 2014? I ask this because, maybe they do think this is something to aim for and they would definitely try to avoid releasing the game post-November? Don't really know when is the last day to release a game to be nomitaded this year. If I'm not mistaken, DAI was released on Nov 18, and it still won the 2014 Game Awards. But, let's suppose that the game is released in December or (knocking on wood) it is delayed to early 2025... that would be too soon to be a strong contestant for the 2025 award, no? don't know, just thinking out loud and trying to convince myself that they are well prepared to release the game in perfect condition until November

Don't really know when is the last day to release a game to be nomitaded this year. If I'm not mistaken, DAI was released on Nov 18, and it still won the 2014 Game Awards. But, let's suppose that the game is released in December or (knocking on wood) it is delayed to early 2025... that would be too soon to be a strong contestant for the 2025 award, no? don't know, just thinking out loud and trying to convince myself that they are well prepared to release the game in perfect condition until November I don' tthink i treall ymatters if the ywin GOTY or not if the yd oit's an extra bonus but I thin kall Biowaer is lookin fo rrigh tnow is a win an db ywin I mean a gam etha tsells an dis recieved well like DAI was becaus ethe ykno EAaer read ywith the i rfinger on th eself destruc tbutton if it doesn't. I d ohop eEA don't have t opress it though I do think Veilguard has agood chanc eo fbeing m yGOTY based off what we've seen so far. Personally I suspec tVeilguard will ge tan Octobe rdate probably late October as September i swhen EA launches th esports games and Novembe rlooks lik eit's quiet packed wit hstuf flik eAssasin's Creed and al that. W ecan' tdismiss the possibilit ythat Veilguard wi ll ge tdelayed given we jus thav ea window atm and no ta precis edate but I don' tthink they'd have started promoting now unless they were reasonably sure the ycould ge tit out as they've only reall ygiven themselves 3 o r4 months t opla ywith by doing this but this is based off how Bioware has handled things in th epast. I could be wron but I don't think so

Well, tried another go at DAO. After about 30 minutes, textures started going wonky, I saved, tried to reload, but the game crashes. Not even running in Compatibility mode works. I think it might be time to rip off the band-aid and accept that I may just not be able to run DAO anymore.
