I think everyone knows how much I adore Inquisition. But just in case, not just my favorite DA game but my favorite game of all time and Trespasser made it my favorite franchise.

There are things that i love/hate about each game in the series, but DA2 is probably my favorite. even if it's the most flawed DA game.

For the longest time I thought it was DAO.
Recently played it again, and I've realized just how much of a crutch mods were to my experience. Vanilla DAO, while good for its time, has not weathered the years well. If you weren't a mage, you had almost no build variety. Mages had a lot of dead points for spells they barely used to get to good ones they wanted. The companion approval system was atrocious, with almost no way to garner approval outside of permanently keeping them in your party and/or simping for them in camp (god forbid you be a good guy and liking Morrigan).
Modded DAO is probably the best, but that's not fair.
DA2 is the best BioWare game in its vanilla form. Nothing comes close. The repeated settings is its only flaw, and even that's irrelevant when you're immersed in an amazing story. The combat is great (Veilguard bringing it back woohoo), the companions were excellent, and the stories were pretty damn good. Also purple and red Hawke are amazing.

DAO: Mages had lots of spells that could be used in combat. Ever since DAO it has been a downward spiral for mage combat.
DAO also felt the most complete and cohesive: No random boss fights with a supposed ally like in DA2, and no large empty areas stuffed with fetch quests and scraps of paper like Inquisition.

I voted for DAI. The more I played Origins the more I hated all the characters (except Dog) and the combat in DA2 is like a strobe light pulsing inside my head with every hit. Love Fenris though.

I am not understanding why you feel that warriors and rogues in DAO had almost no build variety. The Warrior class in DAO gave you the option of being melee or ranged, whereas DA2 & DAI did not give that option. Although DAO, DA2 & DAI all had the the option of a rogue being melee or ranged, DA2 & DAI seemed to nerf rogues by placing less emphasis on skills.

Origins, but man is it hard to play these days. I guess my tastes/preferences in gaming have evolved over the - nearly - 15 years since it released. Plus I've become a bit of a graphics snob. #pcmasterracebitches The DA game I am most likely to play going forward - if not DAVe - is Inquisition. Unless DAO gets a miracle remaster of some kind (we've had that discussion, and I know the chances are near zero and if it did happen, it would be more of a "remakester") in which case I would lose my mind. I haven't been able to replay Origins for years because of the architecture of the game being designed for Windows ME and anytime I try and play DA:O I have service or other system issues with the game. I have also found that Origins was the type of game I could only place once much like a Bethesda title.

At a few points in my recent playthrough, I even had to lower the resolution and play in windowed mode to prevent crashes, but I did manage to play the whole game.
