Two versions of this hairstyle: one that's mid-back, the other goes down to the waist (styles #68 and #69) Disclaimer: This is a Pantene Pro-V commercial The fact that the hairstyles are organized by number makes me think they took some notes from Dragon'd Dogma. By the way, do we finally have curly/wavy hair options? There are curl ypotions yes as I htin kI sa won eo r2 in Kala's vid on th eCC but I don' tkno whow they'll look an animat eexactly

Ghil Dirthalen has uploaded a Q&A video about her experience. She mentions some things I think people might be interested in. She doesn't talk about story spoilers.
- She shows the K/M controls that they used and talks a bit about her experience with it compared to DAI.
- Someone asked about facial hair and she briefly shows a picture of a male Dwarf who had visible muscles.
- She showed how Qunari foreheads could be tweaked in CC and mentioned that they’ve ‘heard the complaints’.
- Likewise they’ve also ‘heard the complaints’ about facial animations. Sounded like they might look into it.
- She briefly shows off the two longest hairstyles (one straight and one curley), about waist length.

What i really like is That their aren't other romance option for companions. It is Taash and Harding. They haven't an other option. That make them more real as character. And show why they aren't called playersexual.
Edit: Also the part of Rooks room is hilarious.

DISCLAIMER: I am purely talking cosmetics and vanity here. I believe inclusiveness & representation should always take priority. .... Too much time is spend on Rook's body: More than likely, we are not naked often, too much time was spent on it. The face is the thing they should have all of their features on.
As someone who trains 3 times a day, 6 days a week in martial arts and body building, I disagree. As much as others enjoy e.g. wavy hair, I very much enjoy being able to sculpt my character's body, as it is part of my personal concept of aesthetics.
For example: Elden Ring lets you modify how jacked (bulk) your character is, seperately from how ripped (definition) they are.
Fallout 4 allows you to alter neck thickness and visible muscular definition on the throat/neck, which (along with the forearms) is usually a telltale sign of someone's physical developement when the shirts are on. It's not just the sheer size of the muscles, if you look at most martial artists with insane muscular developement, body building is not just maxing out the "size" slider.
It annoys me when a character's physique is linked to the armor set they're wearing. I can never give Blackwall anything other than his regular armor, because he actually has a unique body type that completely disappears once you deviate from these sets. DA2 Mage Hawke suddenly gets insane guns when equipped with the Champion's Set, and look like a wirey novice when wearing any of the standard robes.

Yeah, And although it's a pretty robust CC, the fact that all characters look kinda stumpy and dwarfish puts me off a little. "But...but Quinn, you can increase your character's height..." - yes we can, Jackie. But people with the exact same height don't have the same proportions - things like leg length (lower body) and torso lenght/size (upper body), neck even, also come into play, and we just don't have those sliders in this CC. For a character creator that even offers a bulge slider, it seems like an oversight. Dragon's Dogma 2's CC's got those. But I mean, last game we didn't have any body sliders whatsoever. Small victories, right?

Really wish I got recording of my Vinsomer combat footage where I saw, in DAI, they had AOE attacks being highlighted by enemies for the Dragon attacks...so its hardly a new thing. But now for this I found the side by side comparison of all the characters and... Not seeing it. All of them different heights, based on race, and proportions just don't look stumpy...especially on the Elf arms. Also saw a DAI video earlier with a smooth headed Qunari looking not out of place in anything from Veilguard.

But that's the point, those things should be independent. If my character is ex: just as tall as Neve, still she could be leaner and long-limbed or have a longer torso with shorter legs, in comparison to Neve. It's just a different, sorta weird body model they're going with since MEA. Another feature that's missing is a cm/meters or feet value on the height slider, true to in-game height. Say, you don't want your character to be taller than Lucanis. Or you want to be as tall as Taash - we have no idea what those percentages mean in-game, we sorta go in blind. I'm sure players will find out eventually, what percentages correspond/relate to companions and other people in-game, so it's less of a problem (but would have been nice to have such a feature). Other than that, the CC looks phenomenal.

But it occurs to me when I was trying to mess with the CC in TOR way back which also had body sliders but it basically was just a single general mold for the entire body...at least if I remember correctly and am saying it right. And I guess I am not technical enough to comment on it other then the one for TOR seems lacking but this just seems to be more fine ish, just an overall improvement. And my position is 'fine enough' is a huge improvement given this is only their second body slider one, first in a SP RPG, and having to deal with actual dynamic cutscenes and character animations snad what not.

Just wanted to point out that there's always different things to explore than just ever more impossible hair. And I just get tired of either going full on hulkster, or non-overweight couch potato. There's a difference between having a less-than-huge frame and that: I really do think the CC is perfectly fine, don't get me wrong. And again, the important stuff for the majority of players is apparently well covered and I'm content with that. Secondly, as nitpicky as my critique is, I think that having a free flowing body slider like this is going to make for a HUGE improvement in terms of visual diversity for NPCs and therefore simply immersion for the entire game. BW notoriously recycled the same three outfits with the same three idle animations with the same three body types for decades now, and while it's probably the kinda thing you only notice once it actually changes, for a BW game this should make for a substantial difference.

I'm just happy getting any body alterations - I assume when/if we get the next game they will further iterate and improve on it. And the CC overall looks great, so I'm more than happy not criticizing it whatsoever.

Now the degree of customization isn't quite as extensive as I imagined after some of the early articles but still solid. My only real wish would be body hair (maybe someday lol).

If by "next game" you mean next Mass Effect game, then i think Bioware will have an easier time with body sliders, which is what people are dissatisfied with, because we will likely play as a human only, so less problems with adjusting armor for different races.

I think the nature of the body sculpting will also depend on what engine they go with. Right now, we still don't have confirmation on whether its in Frostbite or Unreal. Unreal probably makes it far easier to allow for variation in the body morphs. I wouldn't be surprised if BioWare had to import the body morphing features from Fifa to shorten development time on this specific aspect. It would also explain the hair system. Mechanically, it makes sense, and its what your engine SHOULD be allowing for. The ease to which you can modify these aspects, that's a whole other question.

So anytime people use "ugly" Rooks to prove that the CC is bad I want to show them this. Haha. No idea if anyone used to watch 'Video Games Awesome' (channel name FarFromSubtle) but they created the best ugly Bioware Characters, playthroughs were fun too! It started with 'Space Duck' (femshep) in the Mass Effect trilogy, and when DAI was on its way, they (well he with her watching) played through DAO and DA2 before DAI's release. For Origins there was Chinderella (2 handed warrior dwarf noble), Egg Hawke (mage) in DA2, and Lucifeather (Qunari Mage) in Inquisition. Feast your eyes on 'em!

No matter how experienced and educated I feel in every passing stage of my life, a constant reminder to stay humble is that my true sense of humour never eclipsed

I hope it never will.

This is for people who have seen lots of the different videos from people who went to the event - are there any from people who created Rooks that use either of the american voice options? I've seen a few CC videos where you get to hear them all, but a couple of short lines isn't much compared to getting long bits of dialogue in these different voices, and every gameplay video I've seen have been british option Rooks.
