Dawnwhisper has uploaded a long form character creator video. I've only watched a little, but she's detailing the sliders/triangles etc too. Just also remembered she created one of the prettier custom Rooks! Thank you. And yes she is very detailed in this video. She said she tried to get everything, but isn't sure.

Yeah, it's great, particularly fixing the hair clipping thing - with that hairdo with the plaits it was initially clipping then she used the head shape slider to fix it. I wouldn't have thought of that! I think once I decide on a hairdo that fits my Rook, I'll go back to sliders like head and face shape to really refine it. I'm never someone who spends ages in character creation but this one may do it!

Probably the mother of all nitpicks here but I've now seen like 3 content creators critiquing the fact qunari horns don't blend seamlessly into the head, calling out the textures not flowing into each other or the meshes "not lining up properly" or things like that and it's just baffling me because like, they've never done that???
Qunari horns are meant to look like they're jutting out of the skin, not morphing from it - even the DA2 ones had a clear "cut-off" point between skin and horn - and it's odd how common that misconception seems to be amongst those who actually got to play around with Veilguard's CC.

Because even if they blend in color-wise, there's a clear cut off point where skin ends and horns emerge out of the skull, quite like in case of bulls. The only difference compared to animals is that the skin isn't covered with fur or hair, which paired with pushed back hairline and wide horn base hidden under the skin gives DAVe qunari a... a very nice surface to paint a vitaar or place a tatoo Anyway, I suppose I'm going to be an outlier here and say that I actually prefer how horn/head connection is done in Veilguard compared to Inquisition, because in Inquisition I thought that the Qunari oftentimes ended with foreheads that looked wayyy too short (and I'm biased, I guess - as a person with a large forehead, out of the too I prefer the larger to smaller ones).

I think they have change that in DAI. Iron Bulls horns doesn't have a cut off in my eyes. I think the problem isn't the morphing as i haven't heard any critic of iron bulls horns. But more a problem of horn placement.

I really have no idea how my character will look, I just know I try to make them not look like my previous DA characters in the same world state. So she will not be:
- lightly skinned, dark blue eyes, blonde hair. - pale skinned, dark green eyes, dark red hair. - tanned skin, brown eyes, dark brown hair.
Since we will be in the norther part of Thedas a medium to darker skin color feels the most natural for lore reasons, but I will definitely let whatever I fancy in the moment be the deciding factor. I will admit, I've dreamed about making a character with super pale skin, raven hair, and purple eyes... but yeah, lore-wise it feels a bit weird. I am a bit in love with that big curly long hair, and if I make it ginger I can basically make her Merida lol. Very tempting to make a nice Latina-inspired woman with long sleek hair... like, the fact that the CC will have several hairstyles I can actually consider really does make the imagination run wild!

I really have no idea how my character will look, I just know I try to make them not look like my previous DA characters in the same world state. So she will not be: - lightly skinned, dark blue eyes, blonde hair. - pale skinned, dark green eyes, dark red hair. - tanned skin, brown eyes, dark brown hair. Since we will be in the norther part of Thedas a medium to darker skin color feels the most natural for lore reasons, but I will definitely let whatever I fancy in the moment be the deciding factor. I will admit, I've dreamed about making a character with super pale skin, raven hair, and purple eyes... but yeah, lore-wise it feels a bit weird. I am a bit in love with that big curly long hair, and if I make it ginger I can basically make her Merida lol. Very tempting to make a nice Latina-inspired woman with long sleek hair... like, the fact that the CC will have several hairstyles I can actually consider really does make the imagination run wild! Has everyone got their first Rook in mind? I've had to resort to Baldur's Gate III to get a rough idea of what I'd like to do. I have my Rook ready just *sigh* waiting to implement him
