only to realize that he's lvl25 I....have not noticed any indication of level on enemies? Where do you see it?
I think enemy's level only shows up on bosses. Or maybe only if enemy is a much higher level than you.

I encountered that level 25 enemy...at level 13. Tried it a few times, but helas, I couldn't manage to take the armor down to 0 before running out of potions or getting one-shot, so I went to the market shopping instead.

Seesh, they definitely need to make that level more noticeable. There was a boss fight that I kept losing to only to realize that I was under leveled for it and that’s because I’ve noticed I was just doing chip damage to it. lol.

I just came across one of the best features of DAV - banter continuation! Neve and Lucanis were having a conversation when we were interrupted by combat. So I thought, ugh, I'll never be able to know what they said. BUT! After combat wrapped up, Neve said, "Anyway, as I was saying", and continued with her banter. Wish DAI had that (well, DAV has that because of the millions of complaints about DAI banter obv).

I loved banter, I was able to get more conversations between companions than I ever did with DA: I and I haven’t recruited all my companions yet!

Yeah, definitely turn up on non-bosses who are a much higher level. I encountered level 24 undead at level 12 but it's, well, basic undead lads. Even at twice the level they're a pushover (I'm playing on Adventurer difficulty so on the third difficulty level - imagine it's a far different story in Nightmare!)

Thoughts and Comments through the end of the Lucanis Recruitment: - I honestly don’t know where I’m supposed to go, where is that crow I'm supposed to Follow? This is what I get for getting rid of the objective marker, I guess.
- Oh, the person boating us is a mage. It’s one of the mages that haven’t been executed by the Antaam, I guess. Makes sense the Crows would harbor the useful ones at least.
- When the letter note in the prison said “the other wardens”, my initial reaction was “they have Grey Wardens guarding people in a prison?”
- That giant whale thing in the distance was cool.
- There’s a crack in their prison aquarium, so some water is leaking through. If I were them, I would not want to maintain a prison down here. I don’t know how this magic works, and if it breaks, we all drown. (Rook later says this almost literally.)
- You’d think Lucanis would have left if he’s killed everybody. Maybe he’s just freeing people. (nope!)
- Maybe because the sort of people who play action RPGs don’t care about the story, they just need someone to attack, that’s why the story hasn’t needed to be tight but somehow can still be enjoyed by new players. Point my axe in a direction and give me a pretty environment to kill things?
- You would have thought with this tiny walking bridge that they would have made some quality of life improvements.
- I’m so used to never falling off the path because they won’t let you. It made me laugh to almost fall off of something due to being trained by other video games to expect no consequences.
- The water leaking into the prison is interesting because if it were a physical structure, the pressure difference would cause the whole thing to collapse
- You know what, I think this place will collapse as we leave. (was wrong!)
- How did Lucanis get through the barriers to kill people way out here? I'm walking past bodies to break IN
- Lucanis is a human with blood. And he is possessed by a spirit. And having his human blood lets them control the demon. Even though he is clearly not under control at all. I initially thought he wanted to get his blood back because of established lore where having his blood meant they could track his location like a homing beacon. But no. This other idea that immediately fails to maintain under scrutiny is the reason they went with
- They've had this underwater prison for a century or more and it's still a dump
- With Lucanis having a spirit inside ... I dunno if I feel safe romancing him at all. Not after Anders. Considering it’s weird Golem persona I got to see by the end, this may be a smart choice.
- Wonder if the "development" this Zara speaks of is the gods getting out
- There are JUGS of blood everywhere. Not vials. JUGS.
- Building rumbles. Lucanis: we may not have much time. Me: for what? ?? (never explained)
- I'll just stop asking after this. But why are barriers powered this way?
- That was a death inducing amount of blood they had there on Lucanis to control him. No small measures I guess
- An elevator. Elevator talk... Lucanis is so cheery, but ya know what, I'll take it
- A crow never abandons a contract. But Zevran did, Lucanis. And it was interesting. Anyway, Calivan said I made a mess of the place but this place was a nonsensical dump so that's absurd.
- Erimond's plot to have a demon army was way less work than Zara's. Never thought I'd compliment such a nasty man
- Oh nu, the Talon Old Lady I exchanged 5 words with is dead. The sadness (/s) . I guess for Lucanis it's a motivating factor to...join up outside of the usual world ending things.
- The thing I want to say to Lucanis is locked behind a flirt symbol. Fine. just this once (and it is not remotely flirty)
- Stop narrating Varric! Why would anyone even need you to summarize what JUST happened?

I feel it’s properly paced to me, it wasn’t a glacial pace like Inquisition was and I loved that game as well. Yeah I don't think pacing is the problem here. Inquisition was the worst with this with the annoying power system and huge empty open world areas. Such a chore to replay for me This feels more like a typical Bioware game in terms of pacing, unlike Inquisition and Andromeda

So Ivy explored Treviso and Minrathous some more...discovered some stuff, spoke to the First Warden and meet some old faces. Also, Minrathous feels so much like Kirkwall. It's not just the port city feel. It's all the crazy blood mages with demons and sacrifical murders. I am calling Treviso The Cat Empire! Also, the Fade has no idea what a tower is for (as a note there is another in the direct opposite direction doing the same thing) I found found the Cheeses seller!!! There was a big crowd. So which CSI BSNer moved to Minrathous?

Almost bang on 10 hours in, now. Have recruited Lucanis and done the relic mission at the docks with Neve. Have also spent some time with Harding to help her become more familiar with her powers. The voice she is hearing is concerning. Mostly because it has me thinking about my least favourite Inquisition character Valta. Don’t know if it is her - can’t specifically call it on voice alone, given the distortion of it, but I am side-eyeing my favourite dwarf now. Met a distressed spirit in Arlathan and helped ease its mind (first ‘classic’ style side quest I have come across). My next run - and there will be one - I think I’ll be a warrior. There is no issue with party balance, but in some ways, I am a traditionalist

phoray Yes, the Varric narration is tiresome. So which CSI BSNer moved to Minrathous? Might be the conspiracy-theorist spy we recruited in Jaws of Hakkon. Kinda looks like his sketches.
I am not sure if I've moved to Act 2 or not? I found Davrin and when I got back had a huuuuuge horrible decision to make. Now I have quests to find the last 2, Emmrich and Taash.
Plus side: got to spend time petting and playing with Assan. Ooh, and taking both Davrin and Lucanis is a hoot. Not competing with each other at all...nope, not at all.

The end of Act 1 is after you recruited everyone and did the quest they showed in the high level Warrior video months ago. Quest name: The Siege of Weissaupt
