Man Ryder Becomes N7 Over the Course of the Game

I see the game's focus to be elsewhere and the protag's leveling experience will be focused on attributes / skills like Pathfinder, Soldier, Charisma (for making allies) to ensure the end game is won. 

From what Flynn said, Ryder is a Pathfinder, not a N7.

That Gameinformer magazine cover must be a typical marketing idea designed to maximize the appeal of the N7 logo. Thus, a crude attempt to increase sales.

I can just read, in my mind, the infused marketing "speak" designed as a serious game article. It will be all positive.... same as the DA:I article way back when. This advertorial technique is one way that EA spends its money on advertising.
