I want to clarify that when I refer to 'Character' art styles, I'm speaking to both your main characters graphical presentation, as well as NPC's (which includes enemies as well). Environmental art is self-explanatory. I tried to present these as best as possible.
From my end, I've mentioned before that - I'm largely indifferent to the character art design. I think where most of the gripe lies is there being too much bloom, not enough pores, and body proportion issues (for those who don't like it). If those were fixed, I think the game would possibly have seen less negative feedback about this particular art style. - The environments look good, with some places looking very good. - Darkspawn look horrible IMO - Demons are okay, but I miss having the other ones (like the Desire and Envy demons). I do actually like this games representation of the Rage demon though. I always thought the red puddle of lava always kind of looked ridiculous. - The Fade creatures could have looked better imo. - Dragons are fine, though I miss the higher-res version of them. Scales look too smooth and untextured for my liking
EDIT: Dragon/Sofa. Can I get an 'L' on that Fee - if possible?

Picked don’t like the character art but love the environmental art. Not a fan of the Disney look for many of the companions. Hope they don’t go with that style again. Environments look fine.

Indifferent to the art ...
I may have mentioned several times before that the artistic side of my engineering brain is smaller than a raisin.
Story & character development are what is most important to me. Twitch combat or fetch quests are negatives for me, but not necessarily a dealbreaker ...

I'm having trouble with this. Maybe it's because I'm running at low settings on a potato, but I'm not really seeing much difference between DA:I and DA:V character designs. And a lot of the environmental designs strike me as being outright recycled.

I don't mind the characters as In npc's and teammates that much. I do think they are a bit too smooth as you say. I remember being able to count every pore on Cassandra.
But the style for the demons, darkspawn are all lesser than what came before. Worst offender Is the Hurlock. Demons - I enjoy the new rage demon aswell. I think Shades are ok, and pride demon Is ok. I miss desire, nightmare, and terrors, and just more variety In general. I am actually quite fond of the antaams look.
The envoirments all look great, and I enjoy the backdrops of each zone, adds to the scope of It all.

Now I will say that this strikes me as a little odd, because I agree when it comes to Cassandra.... But yet for Inquisition it didn't seem to universally work like this. Bull was pretty much fine, Solas, Dorian...but then Leiliana and Cullen and Josie and Varric and Harding (especially noteworthy given the glow up) all looked like invasion of the potato people. So it just seemed the characters had a very wide variety of quality put into it. Veilguard they all universally look good and consistent...well at least imo.

Such negativity ... shameful ... LOL I will admit with the charged environment around here in either direction think its hard to say anything negative about either Veilguard or Inquisition without a lot of assumptions being made. But yeah while its a criticsm its not that bad, Inquisition had a fine artstyle, which Veilguard seems to have improved upon. Actually on this subject to one thing I do want to call out something about the camera angles or the environment everything feels so much closer and more intimate then in Inquisition. Maybe that's an effect of not being an 'Open World' but I love it.

The art style is overall positive for me. The environment is generally great and can be breathtaking at times.
Characters look good on average but I have some issues. Darkspawns and demons (except rage) are a downgrade from previous games, but humans, elves, and dwarfs look better. I don't like how Qunari Rook looks but Antaams are fine. The dragons look the best so far and so do some other world bosses.

Needs more nuance. I voted "Hate the character design, loved the environmental design". While in reality it's dislike the NPC character design, hate the enemy design and am OK with environmental design.

what i don't like are the faces. The rest of the body is ok for me, not much important
Some faces are even OK (Harding) but most of them seem too flat, without details.

And, sorry, looks like the poll can’t be edited (including it’s description), only removed.

I wasn’t too keen on the art style of the characters, but If I’m honest, I stopped thinking about it surprisingly quickly. In fact, it kinda reminded me of DAO.

i would add that it's not bad for what it is but it's not appropriate for a dark mature game.

Most Bioware games outside of Mass effect tend to have good design but ugly graphics. This game has good graphics but ugly design. Many aspects of this game feel like opposite world

While in reality it's dislike the NPC character design, hate the enemy design and am OK with environmental design. It would have needed way more options than I think would be manageable for a poll. I thought about it though. Maybe I should have kept it strictly to character art (where I could segregate the main character & NPCs from enemies)

Both, characters and environment, remind me of Terra. For my taste, there is a bit over the top colour intensity and it leans too far towards cartoonish. Due to these two factors, I find it misrepresents the dark tone of the series. The environment is beautiful, especially when people can get a wide angle scenery shot.
Many armor designs look meh and have Fairies feel to them, but I guess I can roleplay that Orlais has finally taken over the fashion industry world wide.
The type of graphics I desire to see lean towards Baldur 3 introduction movie (not inside the game). They're more real and darker in tone.

I like the slightly-stylised character design and generally like the environmental art, but the latter is too hard to read (too much useless fluff), while both are too resource-intensive. If the graphics were on the same level as DAII (since the chests are already very symbolically explode with coins; having more readable environments and more easily distinguishable classes/races would be preferable), with some optional lighting and material physics (to burn the power for those who want it), it would be better. One can have a very expressive design, while also keeping the system requirements low:

The art style definitely pleases me. I can't complain much.
Only caveat are the Qunari, though - their forehead, more precisely. Everything else is quite fine with me.

Outdoors environment, like Arlathan: Gorgeous, vibrant, really great high fantasy color palette, and visual effects Indoor/City environment: Bland, plastic, lacks detail and "lived in feel" Character/Creature models: Poor, childlike proportions, borderline caricaturish, immersion breaking ( most of Grey wardens look like children) Armors/Outfits: Abysmal, awful color composition, impractical, excessively bloated. Tbh, possibly the worst I've seen in this type of game.

The enviros have always been beautiful (Inquisition, MEA, Anthem and now Veilguard). But the art style is a f*ng disaster of nature. Across the board. I could write paragraphs and paragraphs about this sh*t, but I don't feel like it right now, plus I've said a mouthful already on the topic. I don't know if this is like remnants of the would-be live-service Fortnite-adjacent DA that was rumored, or a deliberate choice. I think it was deliberate, but I prefer deluding myself that it was not. Because it's a less scary thought, and who wants to be scared. I maintain that had they stuck to a more mature tone and art style, this game would’ve been much more well-received. You almost can’t take it seriously. They went with this Disney sh*t instead, and look at the results. No one likes it. If you do, your eyeballs are clearly busted, gouge them out with a spoon and replace them with a new pair. YOU’RE WELCOME.

1) Character design It is not the style per se, I actually like the way faces look like - this weird inbetween realistic and cartoonish. My problem with the character design across the board is that it is simply way. too. busy. At one point, you're gonna have to put that pen down - not every top and bottom needs all the pouches and trinkets and patterns you can think off. Just. Calm the hell down This becomes perfectly obvious in the Grey Warden styles versus literally anything else in the game. I have always loved it from DA2 forward and it does still have that same vibe fortunately, except now it is weirdly out of place versus the busy mass of geometry and trinkets and accessories and layers of adornments on literally anything else. 2) Locale design The level layout is good enough at the worst, and DS style "no shit!" quite often. The design visually is beautiful and creative, specifically Arlathan just keeps on giving (the "busy-ness" works here to make it look more dreamy and exotic). Necropolis is too much. It doesn't work for me. Every time the game switches to the Nevarra palette, I sort of check out of playing DA, and something else instead. The entire neon green / dark grey / death-skull-things seems oddly cheap and unimaginative compared to other things in the game. Then you have places like Hossberg again, or every stint over to the Deep Roads/mountains so far, which totally brings me back.

The art style feels like an evolution of DA2 and DAI to me. Overall I like it and think it works. Some of the visuals for the characters bother me, and that’s mostly the NPCs, like Teia and her big bobble head XD And it’s been mentioned, but some of the armours are a bit ridiculous and ugly… but some of them I really love. I feel the same for DAO/DA2/DAI. Environment design is stunning, no notes. The best BioWare has ever done.
All this to say, if we get a DA5 I don’t want BioWare to ‘throw the baby out with the bath water’. Take the things that work, and improve the things that don’t. But I like that DA has been moving towards a defined art style for the last few games, it just needs a few tweaks.
