1. DAO; leagues better than others in almost every way. Music, atmosphere, story, Roleplaying, quests, lore, c&c, etc, etc. Only questionable is combat; but this depends on personal preference ( tactical vs action)
2. DA2: Many, many flaws, but I love the basic frame of the game and plenty of brilliant, memorable character moments. This game would shine with remaster.
3. DAI: Ok, not as interesting and original as previous games, but with strong characters. You really need to play it on your own terms ( ignore all the MMO bs), and just keep to what it's good at.
4. DAV: Cybertruck of the series.

1. DAO for its atmosphere and mood. The game is bleak but not too dark like grimdark. 2. DAI for its grand scale and characters. The lore is rich through the characters we encountered and war table missions. 3. DAV for its exploration and continuation of the story. Could have been better because some of BioWare's great characteristics shown up time to time but it's also got flaws that brought it down. 4. DA2. I liked the game for what it is. Kirkwall is still one of the best (although a shitty place) fictional cities.

I feel that DA2 being developed in 15 months absolutely shows it and should be evaluated as such. It's 2011 graphics are worse than Origins (and Origins was already obsolete for 2009 standards). It is the most cartoony and plasticky looking game of the series and textures seem to be non-existent. Repeated environments, enemies spawning out of thin air, the promise of a 10-year old timeline that never materializes visually. Plot-wise, it seems more like a spin-off to serve as a bridge between Origins and Inquisition. But it has very good voice acting, two or three memorable companions and a half-decent combat, I will give it that.

To be clear, I like all four games, but here is my current ranking:
1. DA2: Hawke is my favorite DA protagonist, and I love the smaller scale, personal story taking place over 7 years. I feel like the time skips, plus the friendship/rivalry system, makes the companion relationships feel more believable and organic. I like all the companions, even the ones I hate. Meredith and the Arishok are better villains than Corypheus (and DA2 Corypheus is a better villain than DAI Corypheus), and even Orsino is a better surprise villain than Corypheus.
2. DAV: As I do more playthroughs, it's possible that this will swap places with DAI, but for now, it ranks above DAI because I like Rook more as a protagonist than the Inquisitor, and exploration is more fun. Rook feels like a real person who had a life before joining Varric, whereas the Inquisitor always felt to me like they sprung into existence at the conclave. Also, I think Veilguard's strongest scenes are better than DAI's strongest scenes.
3. DAI: It's just such a slog to replay, even when I ignore a ton of side quests. I do think the companion relationships here evolve in a more believable way than in DAV, and the romances are also better (at least, those that I have done).
4. DAO: I like this enough that it got me to play the rest of the series, and it gives me a lot of nostalgia for Neverwinter Nights, but I just don't feel this strong urge to replay DAO like I do for the other games (even DAI). I did replay it most recently this summer to prep for Veilguard, and it was enjoyable enough, but it's the only game where I have a mod installed to skip an entire section of it, and I feel next to no connection to any of my wardens.
