No one posted this pic, it's in EA/Mass Effect website. Also, there is an image of Ryder wielding anM3 Predator pistol, I'll try to post it So then it's a rumor no more. Ryder really will become an N7.

I think it might be that the armour is something associated with the pathfinder role. It was clear from the trailer already though.

So, that was quite a cool trailer. I took some screen captures of it and the AI Briefing if anyone's interested: Album. It looks like we're obviously leaving during/after ME2. I suspect the story will have several angst issues as a driver for the plot, whether it's daddy or sibling... The tropes stack up throughout the trailer, but given the franchise I'd be surprised if there wasn't. However, it does look really nice on Frostbite! And that bloody asari's back too! The main thing that's geting me is the FTL drive. To make the 2.5million LY journey in 600 years, you'd have to be travelling at over 4100c! And considering the current ships in the ME-verse travel at around 50c, that's a bit of a leap! And that's before we get to the whole drive discharge thing from other parts of the ME lore. I suspect our 'Ghost ship' from the CDN will have a hand in it... Edit: Also, looking at one of my shots from the AI Briefing trailer, I also think we're going to get something by way of outpost building, with this 'establishing a colony' readout that pops up. I seem to recall something similar from DA:I. Tim

No one posted this pic, it's in EA/Mass Effect website. Also, there is an image of Ryder wielding anM3 Predator pistol, I'll try to post it So then it's a rumor no more. Ryder really will become an N7. It looks exactly like Alric Ryder's armor so it is entirely possible that it is his that Ryder is simply wearing. It wouldn't make him N7. It'd be more a way of honoring Alric Ryder, carry on the work, inspire people or just be for the armor. That kind of thing. At least, that's what I'm hoping but there is also the possibility below.
"Initially led by N7 commandos, these squads (multiplayer squads) were nicknamed the N7 Special Ops. In light of these teams' exemplary service and remarkable bravery, the Alliance allowed this unofficial name to spread across the ranks as a sign of respect for their efforts." - Wikipedia.
Ryder could be similarly be granted this out of respect for their contributions and for braving the unknown. They wouldn't be actual N7s but honorary N7s if that makes any sense. Although they may decide that because of what Ryder goes through, they'd basically passed the non-training version of the N-courses but this would only work, in my opinion, if what Ryder experiences actually matches the intense scenarios and training put on N-candidates. In either cases, I don't think this should happen until near the end of the game. If it is given to the player character before, I'd consider it be completely meaningless.

Two things to keep in mind. A. The AI is not a military mission but a civilian one. B. The mission is doubly has little to no affiliation with the current governments in the Milky Way. It is likely that Ryder will not and cannot be made an N7 but the position will simply be honorary.

If it is given to the player character before, I'd consider it be completely meaningless. Pretty much. I hope they don't go the Inquisition route and make everyone bow to the main character because s/he's the main character. Plus, i also hope they have some good explanation for the "Pathfinder" being a hereditary title. I guess it would make sense if those people had been stranded, awake, for decades in the new galaxy, and so had somehow reverted to a more "feudal" approach to leadership. But since i don't think that's the case, dunno, as i said i hope they do it better than "you're special"

But since i don't think that's the case, dunno, as i said i hope they do it better than "you're special" I didn't mind it in Inquisition because it was played with in the sense that it turned out the Inquisitor wasn't chosen by a higher power like many believed (unless the Inquisitor was a believer who choose to believe Andraste or the Maker had a hand in it but in a different fashion). They were in the wrong place at the wrong time and had to go along with the Inquisition because the alternative saw them carted off for a kangaroo trial. The people that genuinely believed in the "Herald of Andraste" early on seemed to do it because they needed to believe in something with all the chaos and uncertainty surrounding them. The others believed more in what the Inquisition could do as an organization. The execution was a bit iffy but I could see what they were going for and I did like it.
I speculate that the explodey events seen in the trailer might have caused more members of the chain of command to either go missing or be killed which would explain why Ryder would be chosen to replace an N7 of all people: there isn't really anybody else that can be spared. This is especially since this ARK apparently got separated from the others. Of course, it is possible that Ryder and their father will have some thingimabob that means they have to be the ones that go to the planets because only they can unlock and interact with the ruins and all that. I can see them going the latter route but I'm hoping for the former route especially because I'd find it more interesting to explore and roleplay.

This is a a screnshot from the second trailer released today, about the AI explained by Jieng Garson (name as indicated by flynn and Gamble on Twitter) The rifle is exactly like the one used by Ryder in some of the E3 trailer scenes. There was also a Lancer/Avenger one in the scene where the huge monster grabs you and probably kills you Brute-style. I meant to bring that pic earlier. Problem is that you can't pause/rewind the damned video on their website for some stupid reason. That thing is either a heavily modified Lancer/Avenger or maybe a complete new gun altogether.

The trailer was ok. I had hoped to see/hear the squadmates and Ryder twins interact more. The Game Informer articles were somewhat more enlightening. According to them: Family: Scott (Tom Taylorson) and Sarah Ryder (Fryda Wolff) are the twin children of Alec Ryder (Clancy Brown). Alec is the Pathfinder for the human Ark, Hyperion, but something happens to him so one of the twins has to take over his duties. The Ark species are: Human, Asari, Turian and Salarian. (Not sure how the Krogan arrive.) 3 person squad as always. The Furiosa Asari is named "PeeBee." I am interested to see when I get my free gameinformer copy, hope it is soon, just to see that everything matches up with what shinobi said. Plus, I would want to read it anyways. Thanks for this information by the way OP.
I like all of the increased customization that they are talking about with the Nomad, armor and weapon blueprints. Wonder how much you can actually customize you dad and sibling?
I also like that the class system is gone and you can play however you want and relocate your skill points whenever. Kind of reminds me of Skyrim in you can play how you want and get more skills in the style you use the most. I do wonder what the new melee options are? Just different variations you can get of the omni-blade maybe?
From the description the Asari seems like she will be a smart, happier version of Sera from DA:I. If Liam is the black guy from the promo stuff like people are guessing, I wonder if he will be more popular then Jacob?
I like that they are continuing on make the romances more diverse depending on the character and putting more emphasis on “real friend” scenes. It does say there are more romance in this then any other game they have done and DA:I had 8 romances. Seems like it could be quantity over quality?
I also like that they want to make the dialogue and choices with shades of grey, instead of it being too black and white. Also like the new game+ feature with all the perks of having done a playthrough but with a completely new character if you want.

Here's a sweet pic of the Avenger The top barrel part where the flashlight is does not quite match the one in the earlier picture. Grip is different as you mentioned and the buttstock too. The overall shape is Lancery/Avengery. But everything seems to be changed. Gun customization is either that deep or it's an experimental/completely new model. Either case would be cool.

Grr, I hate exclusive stuff It would also help if we actually got to see what the exclusive armours/outfits looked like... The price would be helpful to know, too. Anyway, though the trailer was fairly bland, I have more positive feelings now after reading this: neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1309671Now there's some actual information! And not even from Bioware. If I had known this stuff a few months ago, I would have been more hyped. Still want to know more about squadmates etc. and actually see gameplay, but this is a much better start then just the two videos. Some highlights for me from the list for various reasons are: - Usable hammer and swords for melee! Yes! Been hoping for that since they were released in ME3MP. - The siblings' default names are apparently Scott and Sara (though I'm skeptical of the spelling of quite a few things at the moment). As per usual, you can change your character's name, but this makes me wonder if you'll be locked out of your sibling's so you can call them by their first name as an NPC. I'm expecting that. - You can hover in the jet pack, not just jump. Nice. - Apparently more romances in this game than any other Bioware game, which is quite surprising considering I thought they didn't like doing as many as DA:I had, nevermind more. I hope this doesn't mean none of them have as much content as usual or that some get prioritized. - No classes! Very surprising, but I do like non-class systems when it comes to RPGs. We'll be able to use any type and combination of powers we want, but can specialize into the old classes, or if you have a variety of skills, "Explorer". Sounds interesting. Could have some other implications as well, such as Ryder canonically being a Biotic. This would make it easier to implement interrupts that use powers (now called Narrative Actions [what?]). Unfortunately, it makes it less likely they'll expand the Class Interrupts introduced by Omega. Hopefully we can get some sort of replacement for that, possibly just with the specialization-classes. - Return of individual power cooldowns, ME1/DA style. Makes sense in-universe if nothing else. Will probably like this better. - Bioware wants to give us the opportunity to meet new alien life firsthand rather than have them already introduced into the setting, and they want you to be able to empathize with the Kett. (Apparently by not making them ugly monsters, though so far they seem to appear that way, so...) - "Dialogue option tones: heart, head, professional and casual." It's unclear if this is total and the actual options vary depending on the conversation, or if each response always has these options, thereby having 4 options on the wheel instead of the usual 3. That would be something! - MP will be like ME3 but "evolved and refined", which sounds good if true. No need to reinvent something that worked! - "-Emphasis that relationships don't just culminate in a sex scene, but rather characters can just want to get in the sack, while others are interested in long term relationships and others still aren't interested at all. Bioware wanted to capture more "shooting bottles with Garrus" moments in the game, of which there are plenty" That certainly sounds like an improvement, and more character bonding moments is most definitely something I want. - A squadmate called Liam. "Arrived with the Pathfinder, former police officer and described as having a "light attitude", bringing levity to situations" - You can craft armour and weapons, and apparently other stuff through the help of alien tech. The Mako, "Nomad"'s appearance is also apparently customizable. Armour customization is apparently deeper than before. - Return of loyalty missions. - There are apparently more customization options (I'd assume for the CC) than before, but I'll believe that one when I see it Confirmation that you can customize sibling and Dad Ryders, though not as much. Yay! - And one that confuses me: "Powers are instead hotkeyed for quick use, no longer pausing to bring up a wheel and aim (you can still pause the combat but it's not how BioWare intends combat to function)" Didn't we always have hotkeys as well as the radial menu? So what's changed, exactly? An actual spoiler for the beginning of the game: - The NPC sibling is apparently crippled from complications in cryo sleep but you can build your relationship with them throughout the game. This explains why you are selected for the role of Pathfinder over them, but not over other, most likely more qualified, candidates.
And seriously, actually, a spoiler for the end of the game, somehow: - Protagonist Ryder apparently survives the story, since "Loyalty missions return but they are not critical to the ending of the game; you can complete them after you complete the main story path for example" So just like the pre-mission briefing for Doom Upon All the World in DA:I doing this, the tension is already removed. Thanks, guys And the obligatory: - BioWare is coy about multiple endings; "it's a suprise", "it's different than the trilogy" (Also I didn't make that typo) So yeah, this is more like it! Still want to know and see more (like the CC, dialogue, companions, gameplay etc.), but I have to admit this is making me just a tad bit excited. Not sure if that's a good thing, but there you go. The healthy thing to do is probably just to stop working myself up about the retcons and inconsistencies and just try to enjoy the game, because I love Bioware games. I'm still having trouble actually doing that, but still... we'll see what happens. I want it to be good! Edit: 'd, sort of.

I found the trailer to be dark, sombre, violent.
Ryder is thrown into the cauldron the moment the Hyperion arrives in the cluster. This definitely is not the Hinterlands, open world Andromeda may be.
Alec Ryder arrives with the Nexus and Jen (the founder of the Andromeda Initiative). Dad is taken out of the picture and one of the siblings takes over. I wonder if the voice that says "welcome back" is his AI companion? The Nexus is Giganticus Humongous and makes the ARKs looks like puppies.

BansheeOwnage Log into Origin and look up ME:A in the store. There are pictures of at least one armor in the details. That's the armor you get if you pre-order. The Deep Space Explorer Armor:
I dig the armor but especially the helmet. Hopefully, it's a mix and match so you can switch the parts around with other armor parts.

That thing is either a heavily modified Lancer/Avenger or maybe a complete new gun altogether. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ I was able to dl the video. Here is the link:

I meant to bring that pic earlier. Problem is that you can't pause/rewind the damned video on their website for some stupid reason. That thing is either a heavily modified Lancer/Avenger or maybe a complete new gun altogether. The top part looks Avenger, but the bottom part of it reminds me of a Mattock though I know it doesn't look like it exactly. The grip actually reminds me much more of the Graal Spike Thower, among the Assault Rifles. It looks most like the Kassa Locust, in terms of the shorter stock and the grip design, with the upper body clearly being the Lancer/Avenger AR. I noticed that Ryder holds this weapon (at least in a few scenes that appear to be gameplay stills) more like a carbine or submachine gun. That seems to match its build. I'm really pleased with this. I hated many of the animations in the original trilogy, among those the ways in which many of the weapons were wielded. A lot of little info about this game are looking right.

,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ My understanding is that Alec Ryder is both a N7 and a Pathfinder. When he's taken out of the picture, the Pathfinder responsibilities fall on one of the siblings. Somehow, I can't see our young and inexperienced striving to become a N7 in the context of the Pathfinder duties. But, hey... could be. The picture I quoted has Scott Ryder in N7 armor; that's why I was bummed. I don't want to become an N7 in this game. There certainly must be other more important things to do, but you are right and that we'll have to wait and see. Others have addressed it, but we can't really become an N7 operative. We aren't Alliance, and Earth and ICT is 600 FTL Years away. That being the case, we probably just come into possession of some iconic, statistically badass and emotionally significant armor at some point in the game.
