Yeah, we are in desperate need for some Liam information. Maybe his face? Maybe his VA? Any Bioware devs lurking that can help us out?

If that's the case, and it certainly looks like, I really hope the guy doesn't get the job. It would sour everything connected to the character (yes even if it's a meta approach. call me crazy, but I have this thing where I can't stand stupidity, and homophobia is a prime example of it).

As for the reveal, eh. Just saw a vid on youtube where they speculated Liam and Cora might be kept "hidden" because they are being made to look like their VA's (like Miranda for example). Or that they are still working on graphics and facial animations. I don't think that last one is true... I would imagine with a few months to launch the game is done at this point? But I have no idea about the develoment process so who knows.

It depends. Are we talking about a live-action scenario where you actually have to make out with someone? I can understand not wanting to do that, but is it really much different from making out with someone you don't like that's the opposite sex?

But if we're talking about voice acting, yes it's just plain homophobia. You're just reading lines. It's called acting for a reason. I have a strange feeling a lot of people (not necessarily you) would see it differently if we were talking about a gay actor who wouldn't do straight content. Funny that.


So I hope Bioware would hire someone else if that was the case, especially if they intended Liam to be gay/bi. If they changed his sexuality based on what the VA was cool with, that's pretty hypocritical of their inclusive mantra. I feel like they would rather get someone else than do that, and that they'd probably probe each VA who did romances about it before hiring them, but maybe that's just me having too much faith in them for once?

This is totally off topic, but I have a thought or two on this. I tend to think that he is totally within his right to leave the production if they are asking him to do something that he doesn't feel comfortable with. I wouldn't say it's homophobic, but I do think it's a little silly. He spent the entire first season fighting and killing people but had no moral qualms about that. But, again, it's his right.

That being said, it's not the producers' fault either. Actors do just that ACT. They sign a contract and are usually made aware of what they'll be expected to do in advance. Even if he weren't made aware in advance, she (Lana) is within her right to make creative changes on set.

Jamie Clayton made a tweet or two that makes it sound like Aml made some disrespectful statements in the process but she's walking that back now. Ultimately, I don't think the whole is a big deal on either end. I only mentioned it because, if he WERE Liam, it might suggest that he wouldn't do gay content.

Some of the better actors manage.  And no one considers the feelings of LGBT actors/actresses when casting them as straight people.  Or should everyone be typecast so that only straights play straights and gays play gays?

I was talking live-action scenario.  Gay or straight actors shouldn't be forced in to HBO tier sex scenes if they aren't comfortable with it.   I'm assuming that's what happened to Aml Ameen.  Iirc, his character Capheus is a JVCD fanboy that was portrayed a bit homoerotically.  Bro probably had no problem playing an ambiguously gay character until more extreme stuff was forced on him. I also don't think Luke Grimes is homophobic for walking out on True Blood when they tried to do the same to him.   Anyway last time I'm posting about this, don't want to derail the thread.
