That being said, it's not the producers' fault either. Actors do just that ACT. They sign a contract and are usually made aware of what they'll be expected to do in advance. Even if he weren't made aware in advance, she (Lana) is within her right to make creative changes on set. Course the sheer amount of creative changes Lana has done, since taking over most of the show's duties in S2, might have played a factor? Compared to how it was filmed in the first season, Lana has apparently been directing the show with insanely long takes (over 15 minutes), no rehearsal prep and having the cast improvise rather than cutting if something went wrong. The usual vague reason of "creative differences" might be actually true in this instance, because each found the other extremely difficult to work with? He might have been annoyed by the director changing things up, while she might have been annoyed he wouldn't roll with the punches. But yeah, this is rather off-topic since we have no idea who actually is playing Liam. Although since we're speculating, how about Franz Drameh or John Boyega? Either could potentially explain why Bioware have been so hush-hush, because if they were voice of Liam and the character was modelled after them, they might want to hold that surprise for as long as possible?

I was just thinking about Franz Drameh too. Very plausible. I hoping for John Boyega the most though.

I only realised that Franz Drameh was a fellow Brit when watching Residue on Netflix. Far more used to seeing him with an American accent in Flash/Legends of Tomorrow. Completely forgot he was once of the characters in Attack the Block (coincidentally along with John Boyega).
Of course, this assumes Liam's voice actor even shares the same ethnicity as the character, which might not be the case at all?

What about Ike Amadi? He's a pretty good VA (even did Javik), so I wouldn't mind seeing him come back.

Also, just a small correction: the asari are not gender neutral, they're mono-gender meaning they're biologically one gender. In this case, female.
Hmm I disagree with this. Liara says that the concept of man and woman have no real meaning to them. How could they? We use terms like "male" and "female" to signify difference between types among our species (and even every other species on earth; when a species doesn't have that divide, it tends to baffle us a bit). Initially asari were clearly designed to be sexy bisexual babes, but I think the writers really did work hard to do away with that and try to mold them into something far more complex. Liara's father makes that comment about being in one's maiden years and either shaking your ass at a club or joining a merc group. Now, obviously, a human woman/female can do either of those things; they are not gender specific. But I think the intention there was to show that asari do not think in terms of male/female or man/woman. They are asari. What gender are they? What sex are they? They are asari. The Asari are all biologically female. The game states that outright in fact in their codex entry. Liara was not saying that they don't have a biological sex, she was stating that concepts like male or female were meaningless to them. It actually makes sense. A species that wasn't divided into separate sexes would probably find gender identity to be an 'alien' concept. I think a lot of players have misinterpreted that dialogue over the years because they confuse gender identity with biological sex, which is not necessarily the same thing. Some players also misunderstand the word monogendered in the codex to mean 'no gender,' when in fact the prefix mono means one or single, like in the words monorail or monocle. Technically it would be more accurate for the Asari to be described as monosex, but monogender was the word the codex writer chose.

You can't always be sure with surnames. Remember romance languages are originally from Europe. There really is no such thing as a latino ethnicity. South America is just like North America. Phenotypically he looks completely Southern European. South America varies a lot between Southern Europeans, Mestizos (mixed southern europeans and amerindians) and other smaller populations. To a lot of people especially here in America people in South America are automatically a different race, but they have whites too in some nations, they're the majority. Take Brazil for example, people see their super models and instantly think latinos, they'd be surprised to find a large majority of them are completely Europeans either Portuguese or Italians...Alessandra Ambrosio, Evandro Soldati, Lucas Malvacini, Lucas Bernardini, Rafael Lazzini, Marlon Di Gregori, Ricard Villani, Rodrigo Santoro, Francisco Lachowski, Rafael Verga, Gui Fedrizzi, Reynaldo Gianechinni, Isabeli Fortana, Jeisa Chiminazzo, Caroline Trentini, Flavia De Oliveira etc.

What does that even mean???). However, what I think I get sometimes it's pretty important to visibilize your ancestry, even when you easily pass as white. Anyway, my knowledge is absolutely the worse because I'm not from US or UK, neither from South America so...

Vivienne (who is black and also has an English accent) was voiced by an Indian lady. So really, any male VA with talent and an English accent (real or imitated) could do the job.

I'm not sure why, but I have a feeling we will see more of Liam on Wednesday at the keynote. Maybe his voice or something in the background. I just feel it.
side note: I love how Liam is still the most viewed character thread and we still haven't even seen his face lol

And I believe that Liam just sounds more interesting than Peebee right now. Liam sounds more like a bro (like Garrus/Alistair/Vega). Peebee sounds more like a character you'll either love or hate (like Sera or Jack).
