I thought if I stepped away and came back later that by now certainly we would have some info on Liam. Apparently not.

Okay, so I was wondering about his backstory then. We know he's an ex-cop, and everyone has their own reasons for joining such a crazy mission. Some curious. Adventure. Running from something.

It seems like Liam presented his skill set to AI, and they took him on as security.

I wonder if something happened during his policing time? Did he accidentally kill an innocent person? Did he witness some horrific stuff and finally could not take it anymore? Did he try to fight some dept. corruption and got run out? Was he the corrupt one?

He apparently has some levity, while also being ...firey, emotional, passionate - wearing his heart on his sleeve. I could see some clashes with that personality type in policing. I could also see him as a character that feels things very deeply, regardless of how he may quip.

If he killed an innocent by accident, or even something happened to his partner, and he feels it is his fault -- that may be the type of situation that would push him to AI. And ofc would mean he's probably super protective of you. Again, regardless of how he may quip.

I like the idea of cute and annoy me at the same time. I feel like he might. Idk, we'll see.

If his situation is anything like that, I could see Liam being...cautious...but torn because of the overwhelming attraction he feels for you.

But yeah, I found it really annoying when the one touching the beacon was dependent on your Shepard's sex. "You can totally make your own Shepard however you like... but he has to be white hetero earthborn sole survivor and must absolutely drool over asari or you're dumb hue hue", quoting* the BW decision makers who produced that silly dumb dumb situation(s)...

I still hope for subtle thingies in BW games that are dependant on your choice of character. For example, the flirts in ME games were the same no matter what. And it really irritated me when my gay Shep would make googly eyes at the asari   And don't remind me of the VA's reading of Liara's name... dude, it's not softcore porn, chill a bit...   you're just saying hello... (save the hot and bothered voice stuff at least for the "romance" scenes, eh? lol). So I'm still waiting for flirts with male npcs as male pc for example... well only that really... haha

Kinda also want to know whether Liam is going to be an available romance option for both Ryder's.

As a gaymer who will be playing as Scott Ryder I'm dreading the options gay male players will have for the game, and characters like Liam being restricted to female Ryder's.

It's early days. Hell, we don't even know what Liam looks like. Not even this glorious head of hair.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things, Liam being restricted to one Ryder is a small gripe of mine. But it's pretty much the only thing I'm worried about with this game, that the options for gay male players aren't equal to everyone else.

Ideally, I wish Bioware avoided the issue of players getting inferior romance options by making the romance able characters available to all Ryder's regardless of gender and sexuality.

I'm thinking it's a joke, too. He probably has a mild obsession about his hair.

With Liam, I don't think we'll have a choice, per se. It seems that regardless of which sibling you are, Liam is going to be there as our first mate. It seems that way at this point.

Kian, yeah, I know what you mean, except from the perspective of FemShep. That breathy "Liara" greeting made me roll my eyes.  As well as Miranda's azz being shoved in my face; and, well, Traynor and my FemShep looking over long at her with her butt in the air in the Citadel hot tub scene.

And the thing is, it's not only annoying, it's unnecessary.

So great to see you here Lady Artifice!  I really like that character too, but figured I'd eventually want something bioware related.  We'll see

They've certainly explored that style enough.

Meh, it wouldn't matter if Liam is s/s romancec or not to me. It depends if he's mister Jacob or not, that matters to me (aka, don't abandon me and get married to another man/woman when I'm not there, and I'll be fine. And for the record, I don't hate Jacob, but he's not worthy enough to romance...)
