Poor Liam If we had more information on him we'd be able to fully discuss! I feel like the mystery and hype surrounding him is just so high that I'll be happy with a blurry snapshot of his pinkie finger. |

Mac Walters said MEA has more romances than any other Bioware game so far. Not counting SWTOR, DAI had the highest with 8 so MEA has to have at least 9. So if they are going to be fair that implies a 2/4/2 division with 1 extra meaning straight women will have 3 or 4 options. Actually, I'm pretty certain Bioware is counting the "flings" into their total romance count, and that's the only reason it'll have more "romances" than DA:I. This would make sense especially since they seemed to imply even dong DA:I's 8 was bothersome. So I'd bet we're going to get the standard 2/2/2 with flings in addition. Even if there are just 3, that's 9 "romances" total.
Yes, there is the universal translator that might be automatically converting gender neutral terms in the asari language into feminine terms in the human language but I might have been more ready to accept that explaination if it hadn't been for all the other design choices. Actually, I don't think that's the universal translator making the words grammatically feminine because: They called Patriarch, the krogan, "Patriarch" specifically because it was a title that "didn't exist" for the asari. In addition, they do use the term "father" non-interchangeably with "mother". So they're definitely using non-neutral terms themselves, it isn't the translator. The fact that Luke Kristjanson wrote him gives me hope that he isn't just some lawful good "first companion" boring type. I think they've already referenced that he has a strong emotional reaction to things that go wrong for your team. I hope that means the character will have plenty of great tension that rounds him out! And I have to say I'm very curious about his cool hair. It was a total cop out that they didn't show us his face in his "preview". I mean really, would knowing what he looks like be that big of a spoiler, since he's one of our first companions? Why is it fine to have PeeBee plastered all over everything? About the first paragraph: Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction. I love the "boring" companions like Kaidan, Alistair, Cullen etc. I hope Liam is similar. And out of the 2 squadmates we've seen, one is written by Sera's writer, and the other one sounds like Sera? Great... Here's hoping Luke's writing skills have the capacity for variety. But I totally agree on the second paragraph. It's pretty sad we still haven't seen the faces of any other companions, even in that "preview" of them. Also, "cop out", I see what you did there  I liked Cortez but found his design off putting. A latino man with deep blue eyes like that? WTF? Aside from that he was a decent character that wasn't overt or stereotypical. I wish he and Joker got more dialogue together. They'd be great foils and the banter would be gold. Though they got some bits in Citadel, I'm not too fond of that dlc's subversion of tension and the abundance of ooc moments and charicaturizations. Cortez changed his eyes to blue via genetic manipulation  I wish we had tech that good today... Luke also wrote Aveline (a "boring" character), one of my favourite Dragon Age characters. Compassionate. Brave. Honourable. Stern. Blunt & tactless to a fault.  And yes... He also wrote Carver, Sera, and Paragon Bronca. But nobodies perfect!  |

It's hard to speculate, better yet discuss a character given this little info and not even a picture! I have high hopes for Liam. Same. She was polarizing to people, but I always enjoyed her. She brought a certain levity to any situation. So, I'm interested to see what they do with Liam. My shallow hope is that he's hot, which judging from that blurry, indiscernable image, it appears he might be. |

I have high hopes for Liam. *raises hand* I'm sort of neutral about Sera. I liked her introduction, then she started to annoy me. Then I got used to her and found her MOSTLY funny. I neither love nor hate her. I do think she's a great character. Annoying but well written. Adorable too at times, especially around certain people. I both like and dislike her as a person. Hmmm.  Vivienne is the most fun queen bitch ever in a game. I LOVE her! And by this I mean she's a terrible terrible person. |

Poor Liam Well, at a guess, he is one of the first 2companions that join up right away to form the squad and teach the player the basics of the team play. Some players really go for those obligatory first companions, and get immediately attached. To entice us to swap the first comps, bio normally increases the coolness factor as the game linearly progresses... nah, I am just messing around. I am certain Liam is a perfectly nice character. |

I have high hopes for Liam. Sera would say or do something annoying/ignorant/gross and then I would hate her (her voice hurts my soul). But I could never muster up the willpower to kick her off my team as every once in awhile she would say or do something kind or insightful. Reminds me of a certain annoying guy from my workplace. A realistic and complex character if nothing else I hope Liam is... not like Sera (my opinion; no offense intended). Though so far he sure sounds quite a bit different. More Alistair-ish. |

Liam is written by Luke Kristjanson. IaN7 Frazier @tibermoonNope, Peebee comes courtesy of @neilpollner! Luke wrote the *other* squadmate we talked about in the Game Informer preview, though. That gives us hope! Kristjanson is one of the most talented writer in BW and he is from "the old team" too. |

I'm just assuming this is Liam until proven otherwise: It's most likely not: - 2 devs have said that Liam has awesome hair. I know it's Bioware we're talking about, but even they have to realize that bald is not what most people visualize when you say awesome hair
- Joe Juba who wrote the Game Informer articles said in his reddit AMA that it didn't look like Liam
