Liam Kosta (Official Thread)

I'm indifferent to his accent actualy, but like for Idris Elba  

Now we have to imagine Liam, The young former police boy who is black,have british accent and have awesome hair will look like.

They tease us about him bit by bit over past few week, I really hope they show us his face in gameplay trailer.

My dad's family's from the West Country and it is sooo white, I can barely imagine a black person talking like my cousins from Devon. I mean I'm sure there are black guys and gals that do speak like country-bumpkins but I have never heard it. Besides there is a "black accent" in England called Multicultural London English that all the black guys I know speak and I live in the South but not in London. He will probably sound like that or he will sound more "cultured" and speak in RP.

I could totally be wrong though.

As everything is new in Frostbite, it would be more appropriate to say some previous features have not been re-included rather than removed.

Anyone else think this possible NPC/Liam from the Andromeda website, sorta resembles Sgt Doakes from Dexter?

While that isn't Liam, I would think he is probably a fairly important character if they used his face in a marketing image. Maybe he is Andromeda's equivalent of Traynor or Cortez?

If this isn't Liam (sad puppy eyes from my side), that makes me wonder how old he is going to be. I'm hoping not older than late 30s. Makes sense to bring young people to Andromeda. However, necessary skill and experience might trump youth in certain situations.

What's with all the Idris Elba hysteria lately? He does nothing for me. Not his voice, not his face. Not that big on gruffy voices.
The only British actor whose voice turns me to jelly is Cumberbatch.

I'm still scarred from Fenris... as much as I love Emery, I don't think I want him to voice another companion again. Ever.

I really hope we get to see Liam, and Cora(the lady human squadmate) without their helmets on, and that we get to hear both of them in the gameplay demo Bioware is going to show.

I look forward to see his face on gameplay trailer too. And his voice, sound of it can get me excite and speculate about him more and more.

I'm sooo into voices, I totally get Traynor's thing about EDI , except I go for male voices mostly, even if there are there are some female voices that I love (like Morinth's). Your list of Bioware's male characters is just excelent, btw, and seconding it was my main reason to post, actually   I even have an order for it: Fenris, Solas, Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, Zevran (I'd add this one), Dorian, James and Varric (I'd add this one too)... Fenris voice it's just too much

And, my wierd fetishes aside , a good voice acting definitely makes a character so much better, it's something I really care about in games. The only thing I don't get much is accents, because my ear for english accents it's awful, I try but it has to be something like Traynors english accent or french accents in DA for me to notice... One day I found out that Miranda had a very distinctive australian accent, I was like   I actually made a thread in the old BSN to ask what other obvious accents was I missing, and it turned out I missed a lot of them 

Oh, it's not that I don't like female voices. That's actually why I was surprised when I realized there were so many more male voices I found cool/distinctive that I could think of off the top of my head; because I like girls, I thought it would be the opposite. But that goes to show it's not really about attraction in this case, it's something else. I'm honestly curious as to why that is, but I'm too tired for introspection/positing theories right now

Also, I agree that all of those voices are cool and/or distinctive... except James. Thought his voice was fairly generic That's just me, though. And I like Meer I wonder if it's related to me also liking more male characters in Bioware games, in this case, though? I mean, that wouldn't account for everything other than Bioware games, so I guess not... I should sleep

I agree that good voice acting is a huge part of what makes a character great and/or memorable. And don't worry, I hear it's very hard to distinguish between accents of languages you're not fluent in  What is your native language, out of curiosity?

Really? I've never really noticed this Although if it is true, I seriously doubt it's to help people distinguish between male and female characters. Bioware usually makes sure you know what someone is with their bodies, not to mention I don't think people generally have trouble distinguishing between masculine and feminine voices, high or low.
