Hopefully then it could extend to races as well if they're in because it's been four years and I'm still lucked out on some of them.

Based on the MP slide, Andromeda MP will have various modifiers you could put on a match like the Armax Arena. Some of them will be Bioware controlled only that they'll roll out at odd times (likely how they had the weekly challenges before). If you play these Biomodded matches you get a third currency besides XP and credits called mission funds. You use that to direct buy items out of a limited rotating selection (kind of like the GW2 gem store). It's not perfect, but it's a way out of the RNG.

I think they want a new trilogy but aren't going to commit to it until they see how well Andromeda does.

Well, this sounds great to me so far.

And New Game Plus! Big selling point for me right there. The changing gender option is a cool bonus as well.

There is a mixture of stuff I like, don't like, or am neutral on.

I like
-Still a cover based shooter with a goal to get the player moving around the battlefield more
-Jetpack
-Less emphasis on linear, clearly telegraphed environments that tell you a combat encounter is coming (though linear areas are still in the game)
-Having the Hyperion go missing at the start is interesting
-Having the Khet as enemies but rather than painting them as mortal enemies, BioWare wanted to make them feel foreboding but not ugly as they want you to also empathize with them
-BioWare did not want to repeat having things like mineral nodes and multiple identical outposts scattered across planets
-Points of interest include combat encounters, puzzles, narrative beats etc on planets (so far so good on exploration, still a bit sceptical though)
-No more Paragon/Renegade system
-They want more nuance and subtlety and giving the player more opportunity to express themselves
-You can agree or disagree with someone without being punished or cornered into a paragon or renegade choice

I don't like
-There are more relationships in the game than any other Bioware game (as they noted fans make a big emphasis on romance in the games)
(There was already too much romance content to other content in recent bioware games imo)
-The back story behind the Andromeda initiative looks to be a bit of a mess imo. Could possibly change with more info but am not hopeful on that.
-The lack of loading screens (yeah this sounds odd but I find the fake loading screens more annoying. I hated it when Shepard had to stop to go through the scanner. The same animations are going to get boring pretty quickly)

Overall I'm encouraged about what we have learned about the game today. Previously I had heard more about things I didn't like (exploration focus, backstory, mako) so good to get some positive news. Still need to actually see some gameplay though.

Specifically, will the ending credit music be as epic or evocative as M4, Pt. 2 was for the original Mass Effect?

I kid, mostly, but this all sounds very interesting. I was worried all we were getting was another trailer that raised more questions than it answered.

Definitely a departure from the trilogy, I like where this is going.


I thought they would have the DA2 system where the family characters would be redesigned to look like your Hawke.

Crafting, again not unlike DAI, pretty good.
