Is it sad that i actually like the non-sex scene with Cora way more? Nope! That scene was very well done as well, and was kind of sweet.

Is it sad that i actually like the non-sex scene with Cora way more? Not really, and it's not like you're the only one. I wish more romances gave you alternate scenes like that.

Damn, didn't realize that the other option of non-sex still continued the romance! I'm a sucker for sappy stuff, and honestly would have liked to see that scene play out more. Not to say that what I did receive wasn't any good. One thing I did notice though is, all of the romance videos up for her seem to leave out everything that happens after that "final" romance scene, but there is actually a few more, up until the very end of the game. *SPOILERS WITHIN THE VIDEO* This one has it all, save for the "alternate" stargazing scene. EDIT: Working on Timestamps, for ease of use when trying to navigate to specific scenes, should be done soon Interesting. When does the scene with Lexi take place? I assume before the final mission?

However, it's still incomplete. There's 3 more conversations you can have with Cora after the end of the game, all on Meridian . They're not just scripted ones, they include flirt options.

Okay. Was lucky enough to have a save where I could do the "final" romance scene again, and went with the non-sex option. So now it has BOTH final romance paths, and the post-game romance chat. Here is the TRULY COMPLETE Cora romance! Thanks again to praxati for pointing out that there was post-game romance discussions on that one place!

I'm taking my time with Cora. I love her though, especially her flaws. Anyone notice she really doesn't want to admit she was fired from the Asari Huntresses and isn't one anymore? That was kind of sad and cute at the same time.
I totally believe it was because she was fangrrling too hard.

I agree about how such conversations make it all feel more "real", while also providing Cora's character with more depth than the frequent talk of Asari, that a good portion of the community loves to harp on and/or make fun of.

I was an asari commando. Hey, asari woman. {Reference to asari culture}, yeah, I was an asari commando. I don't have control over my biotics, feel bad for me. But I'm an asari commando. I'm a badass asari commando. Asari. Commando. asa-"

^ A good take on Cora that I think sums it up pretty well on that notePersonally I really like her character. Her professional but occasionally flirty attitude meshed really well with my easy-go-lucky Ryder. Still haven't finished her romance (Because I still haven't even started Hunting the Archon with all these quests. :S) but I'm enjoying it so far.

I still think her character was just done wrong. She's meant to come off as a badass, and her only character trait is that she was an asari commando. A lot of people said "Oh Liam is gonna be a token character" but nope, I think Cora was the token character this game. The token, human, female, bad ass biotic that seems to be a trope in Mass Effect games and has NEVER gone right. She's annoying, and there's no character to her. The only ATTEMPT at giving her a deeper level of character is her whole "I guess I'm not really as great as I thought I was, but I still have to act like I am because its impossible to actually change personality in a video game." IMO, she has NO likable qualities, and I have to blame that on the writers. They always make a character like this in the Mass Effect games, and she especially seems like a combination of Miranda and Jack, two characters I didn't like (Jack wasn't so bad, she was cool besides her edginess and 'badass woman' trope). Cora was made to be a sexy , biotic, badass, female character, and it shows in her writing, but it wasn't well executed. Other than Cora, I'll have to say Vetra, Peebee, Drack, Liam, and Jaal's writing were all fantastic, with intriguing personalities and characteristics. They were able to convey emotion well and didn't annoy me in the slightest, but instead made me WANT to do their loyalty missions and sidequests. In the end, Cora was just like Jacob and Miranda. A boring, human, biotics user. Except this time, I don't get to kill her like I did Miranda and Jacob.

Hm, we might be starting some discourse right now, but I kind of agree and disagree Popoa, and this is coming from someone who romanced Miranda in the original trilogy and who still romanced Cora in this one and loved it.
I have to admit, I got quickly tired of the repeated "arguments" you can have with Cora regarding your new position as Pathfinder. After all, you don't choose it. Your father does, you can't do anything about it, but since you're the only one still alive, Cora kinda takes it out on you. The first few convos I had with her almost convinced me to not romance her and go for someone else. But I kept going and now after some days to think about it, I get her "obsession" with the Asari, being a former commando and all that stuff. You're right though, Cora does share a lot of similarities with both Jack and Miranda.
Miranda considered herself different because she was engineered to be "perfect", though her biotics didn't pose her any problem and we all know they weren't the best because she's the only biotic squadmate who failed during the Suicide Mission if you took her with you. Meanwhile Jack was an outcast because of her powerful biotics which led to experiments. Cora on the other hand, was also pointed at and considered a freak because of her advanced biotics, but contrary to Miranda and Jack, she doesn't have a sense of superiority. To be honest, the vibe I got from all those conversations with her was that she doesn't know where to belong, or at least she didn't, until she was a commando and she joined the Initiative in the hope to one day become a Pathfinder if need be. That's what Cora lacks in most of the game: purpose.
Also, through squad banter, you learn that she's an orphan with no siblings. I often took Jaal and Cora with me and it's very interesting to compare the two. Jaal grew up surrounded by a big supportive and loving family on his home planet. Cora grew up on a small cargo freighter in poverty, she had no siblings and she enlisted in the Alliance at 18. When she was in the commandos, she learned her parents had disappeared in the Attican Traverse and she never found them. Jaal tells her what an orphan or someone without a family is called in Angaran. Basically, Cora never belonged anywhere and she always sought somewhere or someone to belong to, even professionally. In the last conversation you have with her on Meridian, if you've romanced her, though she says she wants to be with you and all that, she says she's not quite ready to settle down and have a home, because she prefers "other people's homes".
So, while I agree that her character seems bland and boring at first, romancing her does shed some light on her character. In my opinion, she's actually a much more intricate and interesting character than most people think. I don't know if a non-romanced Cora gives you as much information on herself and her past as a romanced one does, but I often felt sorry for her especially during the banter in the Nomad. Thankfully though, even if she brings herself down and undermines her qualities as a leader after her loyalty mission, you have three options: agree with her and diminish her, make it all about your relationship with her, or disagree with her and assure her of her value. In my opinion though, her inevitable emotional attachment and commitment to her mentors and people she looks up to prevents her from being a great leader. But I feel like by the end of the game and after you've reasoned with her, she's more in control of her own fate. She finally found somewhere to belong and a new family that won't let her down like her superior officer in the asari commandos or Alec Ryder (in some way): the Tempest crew.
Anyway, this is way longer than I anticipated and you probably didn't even need/want to read this much about her but yeah.
PS: Just like Jaal tells Cora what an orphan is called in Angaran, if you've romanced her, he will also tell her what a loved one is called in Angaran, "in case you or Ryder wanted to know".

Thanks for linking that video, just watched all the scenes right up to the end. Thought it was interesting you could click on her twice in a row like that. For me, I had to get on the Tempest and immediately redock in order to open up more conversations with all the squadmates. The "live together" convo with Liam happened when I rezoned back in. Probably just works differently on the console.

Did any of you guys notice Cora and Liam use different face models in a certain scene? They matched the pics in the codex Happens when you use an algorytm instead of mocap... They always had bad facial animations, especially "default fShep" in ME3 - felt like a plastic doll to me. Never used that face. Imported one was so much better.

I'm a badass asari commando. Asari. Commando. asa-" I get that, given that a fair amount of her banter and very early convos play out like that, but there is actually a lot more depth to her character, as the story progresses, especially if you romance her. You even find out the whole reason why she mentions asari with every other breath, has to do with deep abandonment issues, feelings of inadequacy, and the fact that her time as a huntress was the only time she felt like she belonged, like she actually mattered and had a purpose. She mostly puts on a brave face because she has to. The Initiative is counting on her, and she can't let anyone down, and it's hard when everything is going to hell and leaving her feeling completely out of control of the situation. Liam has a similar issue with that specific feeling, but simply handles it differently, as any of us would in their shoes. Only through her adventures with Ryder and crew does she start to grow and we get to learn more about her, even without romancing her. She has dreams, aspirations, fears, flaws, etc. She may not be the best or most well written ME squadmate to date, but she is, in my opinion, up there.
