Cora Harper (Official Thread)

Two years later and I still don't know how to feel about Sera...

I envy you, really.
I liked her and I hated her at the same time.
I don't know if it was the pre-release campaign what it gave me a distorted impression on how Sera would be. I thought she will be a sort of Robin Hood, not her crazy sister.
At the same time I really like she was SO DIFFERENT to any character I've known. I watch her romance and it has great moments.
But I fed up with her so easily...
Maybe I should play a second time, now I know how she is.
I don't know...

Coming back to the topic: that's why I am so curious about the new characters of Andromeda but at the same time I don`t want to know anything specific about them. I don't want to forge false expectations uncounciously.

 i can understand that. i wasn't around for the hype, but i can get how that can make a character seem a lot different than how they really are. i really loved how relatable (kinda afraid to say that with all the hate she gets ) she is and how complex and, as you said, different she is.

and SAME. i'm torn between wanting to know more and wanting to wait until the games comes out to know these characters. rip

Only fly in that ointment would be if Cora is the 'formal' name for 'Peebee' 

Peebee is only her nickname.

Cora sounds fairly exotic to me. Would work as an asari name for me. Many of them end on an "a". Didn't realize it was a common name. Huh, apparently Cora or Kora is actually a Greek name, so it would TOTALLY fit an asari, hehe.

But you're probably right. Too bad that rumor that Cora is the daughter of Shepard and Liara was never confirmed. I know it's actually impossible with that timeline and nobody wants it, but I'd be thrilled! ;D

It's not only the timeline, it's the fact that they'd force a canon romance on us. Considering they weren't going to force us on a particular ending, it was obvious they wouldn't do that.

I disagree that she's necessarily in love with Shepard in every scenario, even though the last scene has a deep romantic tone even in the friendship path. 
I think it might piss people off even more then having a canon romance with Liara though 

That speculation is just headcanon among a few fans of the character. It was pretty clear from the scene however, that it wasn't the writers intent, and the gift was nothing more than how it was described; an intimate way to bid farewell among Asari. 

It would be out of character as well for Liara to have Shepard's child without permission, whether or not they're in a relationship. It would also be sort of rapey, a direction the writers would never have gone.

I'd also disagree that Liara is in love with Shepard no matter what, even if they aren't in a relationship. I think that's fan headcanon as well. In fact the romance dialogue is different depending on whether she was romanced in all three games, or only in ME3. If Liara was the LI in both ME1 and ME3 they'll say they love each other in the final romance scene (depending on dialogue choices of course), however if the relationship didn't begin until ME3 she'll just says she cares about Shepard. If she's not in love with Shepard when they've just begun to date, she certainly isn't if they aren't dating.

Goodness I hope not. I wouldn't want a female character with a weak personality like Kaidan or Jacob. I hope Cora is like either Jack or Cassandra.

It's best not to presuppose judgements on her. I can see how she'd get really tiresome if you did that. She does her best to not really rock the boat, but how it's constructed wrong.
