I disagree that she's necessarily in love with Shepard in every scenario, even though the last scene has a deep romantic tone even in the friendship path. I think it might piss people off even more then having a canon romance with Liara though It would definitely piss people off. I'm not saying Bioware would or should ever do that. Just that they COULD. That scene is deeply romantic indeed. Liara is obsessed with Shepard. Make of that what you will. But I thought it was heavily implied. Doesn't she always hit on Shep in ME1? Been a year since I last replayed. If Shep is just being nice to her she assumes romantic interest. She's VERY fascinated with Shepard. Of course Bioware uses the same dialogue for romance and friendship at lot. So it seems like Tali si also totally smitten with femShep. So it might not have been intentional with Liara either, just look that way because she was the story romance. She searched for Shepard's body, she makes the time capsule that is basically a love letter. The gift at the end... Liara loves Shepard deeply. In which way is up to the player to decide, I guess. That is true. Hadn't considered it. Good point.

Even if non-romanced, Liara definitely has an obsession with Shepard.
Not only did she give Shepard's body to Cerberus in the hopes of resurrecting them, engage in a two-year revenge spree against the Shadow Broker for trying to sell Shepard's body to the Collectors, but her apartment in LotSB was filled with various artefacts and mementos from their time together on the Normandy. Most of their interaction in ME3 has a clear subtext that she harbours unrequited love for Shepard.
Leliana often displays a similar infatuation with the Warden in Dragon Age, if non-romanced.

Or why Hackett would give her Shepard's dogtags. I would like to ask that question to Hackett why he would give them to her.

Hm... I ask... 1. Why is LIAM an Ex Cop? 2. Why does a cop with a pension and in good health want to get out of Dodge? 3. Was he kicked out of the force? 4. Is he the type that shoots first and lies about what happened?
In other words, I find this character suspicious.

They didn't say he was either kicked or in pension. While does are possibilities, the Initiative likely scouted people that already had jobs, or that decided to join the initiative while they had jobs (Alec Ryder is an example of that). So it seems reasonable he was a policeman and decided to join the initiative.

Cora can't be an Asari... we already have the Coon and Cora "inhibited" is speculation, imo. Though,... she may be one of the hard to get characters. Would be fun if she brushed me off from the start.
Cora may be another Jack. A human with superior biotics or specialized powers. I think Bio wrote her with the latter idea in mind. I mean, Bio keeps harping about "new and improved".
A question I have is how Cora moved from Alec's squad over to Scott's/ Sarah's ? I believe we all surmise that the woman in the Ai suit is Cora along with Liam. Of course, the N7 trailer may have shown his sister and they split sometimes later.
Aside from questions and speculations my excitement is neutral. However, I am looking forward to seeing her Hair style.

Well, I mean. Ehh. My bet is that she's either an infiltrator or a sentinel. Reasoning? Because we've already seen too much biotics. Liara was a biotic. Jacob? Biotic. Jack? Biotic. Kaiden? Biotic. Samara? Biotic. Think they're getting sick of just tossing in biotics. The only ones that weren't biotic were Tali and I believe Legion, and they were both engineers. Of course, Ashley, Zaeed, and Garrus were all soldiers as well.

Then where did Cora get that Defense bubble?
This is a new game, remember? We have seven characters. So the squad could look like this. Ryder = Anything Biotic = Coon Soldier = Sentinel = Engineer = Vanguard = Liam Infiltrator =
Where does Cora fit in?

I'm not convinced that PB will be our Biotic either. Or, for that matter, that Liam will be a Vanguard. I think that Cora will either be the Sentinel or the Infiltrator, PB may be our engineer, Liam will either be our Vanguard or Infiltrator, dad will play our soldier. I dunno. Don't have enough to even make an educated guess, at this point.

Actually, biotic/non-biotic had roughly half to half split 3 soldier/tech to 3 biotics in ME1 7 soldier/tech to 5 biotics in ME2 3 or 4 (depending on VS) soldier/tech to 2 or 3 biotics in ME3 As for my guess on her class, if we are going by the leak where she has some kind of shielding, my guess is Sentinel (as support is supposed to be their thing)...if we ignore the leak, she can be anything since we know practically nothing about her so far.

Unfortunately Shepard can't ask her why she didn't tell anyone Cerberus has the body. Or why she has Shepard's armor on display like its some kind of prize? Or why Hackett would give her Shepard's dogtags. I would like to ask that question to Hackett why he would give them to her. "I gave the body of a dead hero to terrorists, on the slim chance they could Frankenstein them back to life" isn't the sort of thing you can casually drop into conversation with people, especially if you don't want to spend the rest of your life locked in a padded cell. She had no way to know the Lazarus Project would work, so why go public with that information? After Shepard's resurrection, most people seem to believe that their death was faked so they could go undercover on a secret mission for the Spectres/Alliance. Which you have to admit, sounds way more more plausible than the truth ever could! She probably kept onto Shepard's broken armour because if they couldn't be brought back, she wanted to have a memento of someone deeply important to her. It's not that dissimilar from how some people keep a lock of hair in a pendant, or wear their spouses rings after they pass away. Liara does say that Hackett gave her the tags to pass on to Shepard. He seems to have known about the plan to bring Shepard back, as he never expresses any suspicion or surprise at Shepard's return from the grave, but instead runs interference to keep them from being arrested. We know that Hackett is a crafty old goat. I doubt he needed Liara to bring him into the loop, only confirm what he already knew.

Whether they believe her or not is up to them. How hard would it have been to send a message to them anonymously? How long would she wait before letting anybody know especially Shepard's mother about what happen to her child's body? I guess she would take that information to her grave, right? With friends like her, who needs enemies How many do you know who have taken armor from dead bodies to display it like its some kind of trophy? And why would she keep it if a Shepard told her that she/he wanted to throw her back in the volcano? She has head problems Why wouldn't he give them to Shepard's mother? Why give them to an alien? What guarantee did he have that Shepard would see T'soni so she could give them to Shepard? I suspect she took them off the corpse just like the armor to keep for herself. The other question is why didn't she give them to Shepard right away before she walked off to her apartment?

Even her biggest fans must be able to see it. Shepard, and everyone else, was fortunate that her obsession mostly turned out for the best.

Aside from Spacer, we have to remember that Shepard's parents are dead in all other backgrounds. It was easier to write the throwaway line so it could relate to all three backgrounds, rather than having to record extra dialogue as a caveat for Spacers. Furthermore, Shepard is known to have died on the Normandy when it was blown up by the Collectors. They were in space when this happened and the wreckage of the Normandy proceeded to rain down onto the planet below. People believing that there wasn't a body (or much left of one) to bury, let alone any dog tags that could be recovered, isn't that strange given the circumstances of Shepard's death. Frankly it was a little far-fetched that all the wreckage and dog tags all ended up so close to each other, rather than being scattered for miles across the planet's surface. Personally I'm going to chalk that up to story-and-gameplay segregation. Not disagreeing that Liara has at times a bit of an unhealthy infatuation with Shepard, but keeping a broken piece of armour is not the same as creating a stalker shrine with candles. At the very least, she's not wearing it... looking at you, Legion! Besides, Shepard keeps the helmet they died in on their desk, which is just as creepy!

It was easier to write the throwaway line so it could relate to all three backgrounds, rather than having to record extra dialogue as a caveat for Spacers. Bioware should've thought about that when writing the dlc. It still seems like they wanted the alien to be the most important character in Shepard's life How hard would it of been to investigate that planet to find the wreckage to recover Shepard's body and the others that died? Or at the very least recover the dogtags and Shepard's helmet? They could also investigate the wreckage to determine who destroyed the SR1. It was very far-fetched having the tags close to each other as well as hidden in containers At least Shepard can ask the geth why it has the armor, whereas Shepard can't ask the asari Shepard recovers the helmet that is not on a body and puts it in the cabin where no one can see it unless Shepard invites someone to the cabin. The asari takes the armor from a dead body and displays it in the living room for all to see.

Reasons, my man. What would be his reasons moving away from a permanent job with a pension in his future?
But, given Bio... Liam is just slotted in and given a brief background and voila... done. Bio the writers, via Mac / Flynn, said that with the loyalty mission we will get more background info on the characters. And, that's why I speculate in advance of said background info. Sometimes, I get things right.

Why do you think he has already a pension? Beside, this could be said for the vast majority of the initiative. Most of them likely had a paid job. Leaving for Andromeda doesn't have to be due a sinister reason.

Bioware's constant butt emphasis is kind of disturbing...

I'm very interested in Cora as well. I think Cora and Liam are going to be my go-to squad, just like Williams and Alenko were my most used squaddies in ME1. I have a preference for human companions with formal militay training.

That's cool, everyone has different preferences. My favorite squad, for the whole trilogy, was and will always be Garrus and Wrex. I liked both Kaiden when Ashley, but for the latter I prefer Miranda amen Jack. I wonder if Cora will still have that biotic bubble power. It might be interesting to use it at our advantage. I also wonder if she's blonde as the leak suggested .

I liked both Kaiden when Ashley, but for the latter I prefer Miranda amen Jack. I wonder if Cora will still have that biotic bubble power. It might be interesting to use it at our advantage. I also wonder if she's blonde as the leak suggested . My squad tended to vary depending on playthroughs to better match with whom the character I was roleplaying thought was best suited for the mission although I admit, I tend to often partner with the squadmates whom I like and find interesting on the first run. In ME1, it tended to be Garrus and Wrex and in ME3, it tended to be Garrus and Javik. The latter got to go along on every mission after he joined because I liked his character and lines so much. What's funny is that Javik's type of personality is almost always one that I can barely tolerate but he ended up being one of my all-time favorite companions and as I've mentioned, I brought him along on every mission.
Based on the leaked footage, it seems highly likely that she is as the female human squadmate in said footage had blonde hair. I think it is possible that Cora will still be a biotic.
Note: I didn't mention ME2 because my squad tended to vary a fair bit during my first run as well as subsequent runs.
