One more thing for the speculation pile... I just remembered that Vega mentions in ME3 that the last name of the father he was estranged from was Harper, but was that he was no relation to TIM. So, being Vega's half-sister is at least as likely as being TIM's daughter. If she isn't related to either of them, Harper must have overtaken Smith as the most common surname in the ME universe.

I think you have TIM mixed with Kahlee Sanders His father's name is Sanders, after which he says that he has no relation with Kahlee Sanders. It was one of the fan theories back when James was still called Sanders, that he was Kahlee's son.

I was in the critic group of DAI straight male romance and really didn't find Cassandra appearance very charming for me. However this is not the case with Cora, she looks pretty for my standards. I'm not a big fan of her hairs but they are certainly much better than Cassandra's. She does look more mature and professional than Scott (no problem with it) so I expect their romance arc to evolve among these lines. 1)She was the second in command and designated to be the next Pathfinder 2)DadRyder for unknown reason leaves his position but SAM developed a strong connection with the Ryder family as to make the choice of Scott preferable for a better integration with the AI. In short SAM choose Scott as the next Pathfinder. 3)Cora is salty as hell over that, will put initially your authority and skills into question 4)Over time and missions you win her trust/respect and discover she is not as annoying as she appeared to be. 5)Romance That's how I imagine our interaction with her. Wasn’t a huge fan of Cass’ DAI look either but I’m more desperate that her romance doesn’t follow any of Cass’ cues. Cora definitely looks very pretty. Got used to the hair now. I may end up being wrong but think people are going over the top about degree of age difference. Personally hope there’s a much better reason than that as to why Ryder assumes command than AI throws a strop at notion of her being commander. I also hope they don’t go down the path of her being salty of the decision and us having to win her over. Much prefer existing mutual respect and passion flaring from the get go with her flirting back heavily than slow burning resistance.

Nope, hair looks worse today. But yeah I'm not sure what the benefit of making her TIM's daughter would be. I'm kind of skeptical on this.

Well it is logical to assume that if you are the most qualified person for the next promotion and you lose that over your boss's son, you are bound to become salty, it's natural. In my opinion Scott promotion is connected one way or the other in how SAM (crucial for the Pathfinder job) was designed and evolved as well as her past integration with Alec, otherwise Scott promotion doesn't make any sense other than mere nepotism. I doubt BW will go that route so I think SAM forced Scott hand in becoming the next Pathfinder. Obviously I cannot tell the degree of saltyness Cora will have but one can logically expect an initial distrust considering she was the designated pick for the promotion. It's very natural way of thinking especially as I said earlier if the one promoted is your boss's son. I'm fully expecting her questioning your actions at least in the beginning. In normal life you would do that too if put in the same situation.

As much as I adore Cassandra's romance, I do hope Cora won't be similar. Its too much flirting from one side, until she starts to notice it. That's what I liked so much about Ashley's romance. Her sassy brash attitude towards a male shepard.

So anyone wanna place a bet that out of the 2 starting humans, Cora will be the more interesting one. I'm almost 100% certain she will be, especially after that trailer. They said so little about Liam in the bio trailer, and so many of the scenes (or was it one?) that showed him in the cinematic trailer consisted of generic one liners that it's an instant red flag for me that he's probably going to be Kaidan/Jacob. I'm very good with detecting these things early. Let me print screen this post for when i'm right!

That's because the writers like screwing over players who enjoy playing straight females, by giving them either completely dull charactors to romance: Jacob in ME: Cullen in DAI. OR completely ruining the romance via other means, such as Alistair's in DA:O. I still feel the burn from that last one. Anyway.....Despite the hair, I am rather looking forward to meeting Cora.....and maybe romancing her as B!Ryder.

I'm not a fan of the hair myself, on top of... not quite being my type, but... she seems badass. If she's a good person, we're gonna get along, even though she doesn't seem to be Ashley-grade "material" right now.
Other than looks, however, I got a good feeling. Which basically amounts to "not a fucking thing" these days.

Jack did actually look pretty good, but I prefer women on the "actually tries to look feminine" side. That means not head clean shaven.

I do agree on waiting to see more, since we don't know much about her to judge her completely, one way or another.

Not everyone has to be related to everyone guys...
I, for one, hope she's not related to TIM or Vega or whoever else. Let her be her own character!
And idk where the similarities with Miranda are coming from. I didn't really like Miranda all that much, but so far... Cora seems cool. Granted, I haven't heard her speak or whatever.

Yep. Best haircut yet in ME, including Jack. Point being, it's all just subjective opinion. I certainly find Cora the most physically attractive female human in ME so far, and her haircut is a big part of that. I love me some short hair on a woman. Of course if I don't like her personality, that will count for little, but that remains to be seen.

Current similarities are: 2IC position, biotics, super professional demeanor, alleged connection to TIM. I'm with you on that last one though, not sure why that'd be a thing. Just having it as a reference to the trilogy doesn't do much for me.

Biotic God (on par with commandos) > slight biotics that fail when you need them most (May be over exaggerating a bit ) Professional demeanor applies to many squadmates over the games, so that's not a Miranda specific thing. I'll give you second in command. Idk, I'll just be disappointed if she's Miranda 2.0.

I'd genuinely rather have another Miranda clone over another Ashley.
Sorry but she was one of the worst OT characters for me. Overly aggressive and not a team player IMO, I always hated Anderson for allowing her on the Normandy. Would have shoved her through the airlock at first chance if I had the option.
Miranda though, she is personally one of the better female characters for me in the OT. 'Dat ass and bewbs' aside, since that did nothing for me as far as her character was concerned, since unlike so many other female video game characters, she actually had character and personality.
